Banasthali is a unique, fully residential women's university which offers an integrated system extending from the primary to the Ph.D. level.

The origin of Banasthali is unique in more ways than one. Banasthali owes its existence neither to the zeal of an educationist, nor to that of a social reformer. It is also not the creation of a Philanthropist's purse. It has arisen like the fabled phoenix from the ashes of a blossoming flower Shanta Bai that had withered before its bloom. It is a spontaneous filling up of the vacuum caused by Shantabai's death. It was on October 6, 1935 that Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri founded Banasthali to fill up the vacuum caused by the sudden death of their highly talented and promising daughter Shantabai. They had high expectations that she would work for women's cause when she would grow up. Love, eternal love has been the fountainhead of all the thinking and action and this spirit has been the motivating force.

CRASH COURSE IN EMERGENCY CARE

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) trauma centre will be conducting a two-day crash course in emergency care in April.

The course is called the Advanced Trauma Life Support. The centre already runs a basic course in first aid for accident victims to train police officers, Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) and students.

The two-day course will train all doctors, irrespective of their field of expertise, to manage accident victims and save time lost in transferring patients to specialty hospitals and trauma centres.

'The first hour called the golden hour is very crucial. The way the patient has been managed in the first hour determines the chance of survival. Usually the time is lost in commuting or waiting for experts," said Dr. M.C. Misra, Chief if AIIMS, Trauma Centre.

The course provides basic training to all doctors. The first batch will comprise of 25 doctors. A team of six doctors was trained in the US last year.

The course is a copyright of the American College of Surgeons. (ACS) and has been bought to India by the Association of Trauma care of India.

A campaign opened at AIIMS on March 20 with Hospital sensitization programme. The campaign is an initiative of World Health Organization (WHO) and the Health Fitness Trust.'source: http://indiaedunews.net

When the de-regulation blueprint of the Indian oil industry was announced in 1997, the world took note of the enormous potential that India offered in terms of business. From a controlled field of business to one where petrol and its products have been branded and are being positioned to attract the maximum number of consumers, the petroleum industry has come a long way.

But then the larger question is about getting adequate number of qualified professionals to harness fossil fuels, an invaluable natural resource. From the old, small petrol pumps to the service stations with state-of-the-art technology, dealing in Petrol, Diesel, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for Automobiles, and other domestic industrial applications, the industry is primed for unprecedented opportunities. Moreover, LPG and CNG are the promising energy fuels for the future and are finding their utility in an increasing number of fuel-based applications. In a nutshell, the entire Oil & Gas sector is poised for promising growth with an entirely unique approach.
