Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi-835215, has invited applications for admission to the full-time Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme at Mesra and at its Extension Centres located at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur and Noida, for 2009-2012.
Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor's Degree or equivalent under the 10+2+3 system like BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Electronics or B.Sc/B.A with Mathematics or Statistics at Graduate level. Those with B.Sc/B.A Honours must have 60% (45% for SC/ST) marks in average in their Honours subject. Those having BCA/other Graduate Degrees must have 60% (45% for SC/ST) marks in average in Graduation. (See notification for details). Those graduating in 2009 can also apply, subject to having requisite marks as above, based on latest grades / marks and submission of mark sheets by 31st October 2009. Those having qualifications acquired through Correspondence/Distance-learning Programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.
Selection will be based on an Online Entrance Test to be held on 23rd and 24th May 2009, at Allahabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, Patna and Ranchi. Provisional selection will be based on the performance in the Test. Application Material including the Information Brochure 2009 can be obtained from all Centres of the Institute, in person, from 18th March 2009 to 27th April 2009 on payment of Rs. 1,200/-. It can be obtained by Post by sending a Crossed DD for Rs. 1,250/-, drawn in favour of 'Birla Institute of Technology', payable at Ranchi, along with a covering letter & two slips of paper of size 10 cm x10 cm, with name, address in capitals and telephone number, to reach Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi 835215, by 22nd April 2009.
Filled up printed form, available with the MCA 2009 Application Material, with 2 photographs and photocopies of all certificates should reach the office of the Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi 835215, by 30th April 2009.
Application can be submitted online at www.bitmesra.ac.in . The printout of the completed form with 2 photographs, crossed DD for Rs. 1,200/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi, and photocopies of certificates should reach office of the Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi 835215, by 30th April 2009. On receipt of the completed form and DD, eligible online applicants will be sent a copy of the Application Material and
Information Brochure for reference.
Counselling schedules will be notified by 7th June 2009, at www.bitmesra.ac.in and Notice Boards. It is tentatively fixed between 13th and 22nd June 2009 at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mesra and Noida. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.
