Diploma in Dramatic Arts Admissions 2012
National School of Drama, New Delhi has invited applications for admission to three-year full-time (residential) Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts of Academic Year 2012-15.
Essential Qualifications :
Minimum qualifications for admission are:
* Graduation in any subject from a recognized university
* Proficiency in Hindi and English
* Active participation in at least 6 plays or any other field related to theatre
Age:
* The course is open to all men and women between 18 and 30 years of age
* The upper age limit is relaxed by five years for candidates belonging to the SC / ST / OBC categories.
* The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
Application, Selection & Admission:
The candidates have to apply in the prescribed application form, which costs Rs. 150/-. The application form & Prospectus will be available from the Book Shop of the National School of Drama from 20-03-2012 to 15-04-2012.
Application can be availed by post on sending the request, accompanied by a demand draft of Rs. 225/- (inclusive of Rs. 65/- for postage) in favour of "The Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi - 110001" to Academics Department, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi - 110001.
The application form can also be downloaded from : www.nsd.gov.in Filled-in applications are to be sent along with DD as mentioned above.
Completed applications are to reach Academics Department, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi - 110001 on or before 20-04-2012.
The screening of applicants is carried out in two stages. The preliminary screening comprises of an audition or practical test of the candidates, and is conducted in New Delhi and three other centers, usually Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. Candidates recommended by the Preliminary Selection Committee will go through a final round of selection in New Delhi, which is in the form of a 3 to 5 days' workshop. In the final selection, emphasis is upon aptitude and talent for the theatrical form.
