UNDERGRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAMME IN LINEAR ALGEBRA AND ANALYSIS-2012 28, May – 6, June 2012 (UTPLAA-2012)
Organized by
Department of Applied Mathematics, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad-826004
Funded by
Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi
Objective: This program has been envisaged to provide quality training in the topics such as Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Tensor Analysis, Real Analysis and MATHEMATICA at the undergraduate level, especially to the students belonging to the regions of Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal. This program is different from the usual class room teaching as it is intended to provide an out of the box overview of the topics covered under the above mentioned topics. The lectures will also be supplemented by lecture materials, discussions, problem solving sessions and Labs.
Eligibility: Students who are enrolled in B.Sc./BA with Mathematics as one of the major subjects are eligible to apply for participation.
Boarding & Lodging: Boarding and lodging will be provided by the organizers. Accommodation will be provided to all the outstation participants in the student hostel of institute.
Travel Support: Travel support to the participants will be provided for travel by Sleeper class train, bus (to and fro) from Dhanbad to parent institution by shortest route, as per rules. The participants are advised to keep the original tickets for availing travel support.
Registration: There are no registration fees for attending the training programme. Interested students may register by filling up the registration form (available in your department) and sending it through email or by post latest by 31 March, 2012 to the any of the following addresses:
