Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Near Indroda Circle, Gandhinagar, Gujarat - 382 007, has invited applications from Indian Citizens for admission to the B.Tech Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programme for 2012-13. 

Admission will be based on the All India Rank of AIEEE 2012 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2012), being conducted by CBSE. So applicant should be appearing for AIEEE 2012 to apply for this program of DA-IICT. Short-listed candidates, based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2012, will be called for counselling at Gandhinagar and will be offered admission in order of their merit to be decided based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2012.

A limited number of seats will be offered through a separate channel called ‘Direct Admission of Foreign and NRI Students’ (DAFS) to Non-Resident Indians, Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin. There are 240 seats for the Programme. All seats will be filled, on the basis of the All India Rank of AIEEE 2012, from the candidates passing their qualifying examination of 12th standard or equivalent. Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories will be admitted on relaxed criteria as compared to the general category candidates. In case some of the reserved seats are not filled, the unfilled seats will be transferred to the general category. In addition to these 240 seats, 24 seats will be offered to Non-Resident Indians/Foreign Nationals through DAFS. The Institute may change the number of seats without any notice.

Eligibility: Applicant should have been born on or after 1st October 1987. Applicant must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology. Those appearing in the qualifying examination in 2012 are also eligible to apply provisionally subject to production of proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 examination or equivalent) latest by 30th October 2012, failing which such provisional admission will be cancelled.

The approved qualifying examinations are given below:
(i)The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
(ii)Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/University.
(iii)Final Examination of the Two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
(iv)Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
(v)H.S.C Vocational Examination.
(vi)Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
(vii)Three or Four-year Diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
Application Form: A candidate seeking admission to the Institute has to apply to DA-IICT in addition to attending the AIEEE.

Application form along with the Information Brochure and Admission Procedure can be obtained till 10th May, 2012, for Rs. 1100/- from select Branches of Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank). Application from can also be obtained till 10th May, 2012, from ‘UG Admissions 2012, Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Near Indroda Circle, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382 007’, by sending a Demand Draft, of Rs. 1200/- drawn in favour of ‘DA-IICT’, and payable at Ahmedabad. Applicant must write his/her name and complete mailing address with phone number on the back of the DD.

Application can also be submitted online up to 14th May 2012, at the link http://ugadmissions.daiict.ac.in/ and payment of Rs 1000/- made online through Credit/Debit card. The last date for receipt of completed Application form at DA-IICT is 14th May 2012. A photocopy of the AIEEE 2012 Admit Card is also required to be enclosed with the completed DA-IICT Application Form and sent to the Institute in the envelope provided for the purpose. DA-IICT Application Form Number should be written on the top right corner of the photocopy of the AIEEE Admit card.

Tuition Fee is Rs. 40,000/- per Semester. Details of the other payments to be made are available at http://www.daiict.ac.in/daiict/admissions/indian_students.html  At the time of counselling, an amount of Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. 40,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 10,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘DA-IICT’, payable at Ahmedabad. Subsequently, fees are charged semester-wise, at the registration of each semester.

All the students admitted to the B Tech program, with an AIEEE All India Rank better than 5000/-, would be awarded merit scholarship equivalent to full tuition fees. In addition, five merit-cum-means scholarships would be offered to the students with the highest All India Ranks in AIEEE, subject to a means test.

The counselling will be conducted at the Institute campus. Merit List and counselling procedure will be put on this website. Candidates will also be invited for counselling through individual communication. Candidates, whose names appear in the merit list put on the website, should appear for counselling as per the notified schedule even if they have not received the invitation letter.
