Admission to Ph.D. Programme in Russian
Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D programme in Russian from candidates who have a Master’s degree in Russian or any other qualification considered equivalent therto. The eligible candidates will take research Eligibility Test as per the following schedule:
Written Examination
Date : 28.07.2014 (Monday)
Time : 2‐30 p.m ‐ 4‐30 p.m
Venue : Dept. of languages,Ashutosh Bldg,2nd floor
The names of successful candidates(eligible for viva‐voce) will be displayed on the dept. notice Board on 8th August 2014. No candidate will be intimated individually. The viva‐voce will be held on 12th August 2014 (3 p.m. onwards) at the dept. of languages. Candidates who have passed M.Phil / NET in Russian or equivalent examination are exempted from the written examination and will need to appear at the viva‐voce only. Application forms are to be downloaded from the C.U. website and filled in forms are to be submitted at the office of the dept. of Languages after payment of Rs.100/‐(Rupees one hundred) only at the C.U. cash counter. Last date of submission of forms is 23.07.2014.
Candidates may note the following :

The written examination (70 marks) will comprise
Group A OR Group B
i)Russian & Soviet Literature i) Modern Russian Language(Theory & Practical)
ii) Creative writing ii) Creative writing
iii) Translation from Russian to English & iii) Translation from Russian to English &
vice‐varsa. vice‐varsa.
Viva‐voce(30 marks) on the basis of contents of written papers.

Number of intake is 10 (Ten)
