University, Kottayam, Kerala for admission to the Bachelor of Fashion
Technology & B Sc Apparel and Fashion Design programmes offered in the
following affiliated colleges for the academic year 2014-2015.

Eligibility
Candidate with a pass in Plus Two or equivalent
examinations recognized by the University, irrespective of streams /subjects
are eligible for admission to the programme. Since B Sc Apparel & Fashion
Design is offered in a Women?s College, only female candidates should apply for
the programme.
Weightage of marks for proficiency in NCC/NSS etc
and bonus marks for Ex- Servicemen applicants and widows and children of
Jawans/ Ex-Servicemen will be given as per the existing rules of admission.
Reservation for candidates with outstanding records in sports and games shall
be allowed as per rules. 3% of the seats under Merit quota is reserved for
physically challenged candidates.

A registration fee of Rs. 350/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST
candidates) shall be remitted vide pay in slip of A/C No. 67114059391. Since
the admission to the programme under merit and management categories is based
on a common rank list prepared by the University, all the candidates are
required to submit their applications to the Deputy Registrar I (Academic),
Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarsini Hills PO., Kottayam 686560.
A self- addressed stamped envelope (Rs 5/-) shall
be enclosed along with the application.

Mode of
selection :
Admission to
the above mentioned programme is based on an admission test with centralized admission
process. The selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying
examination and the entrance test in the ratio 30: 70.
The entrance
test will be of one hour duration consisting of objective type multiple choice questions
and questions to assess creative aptitude. Answers to the MCQ shall be marked
in an OMR sheet and answers which require drawing/design shall be done in a
separate sheet.

Allotment Process
Admission
/Allotment of seats under merit quota is governed by a Centralised Allotment Process.
Selection/ Allotment of a candidate to any college will be based on the rank of
the candidate and the availability of the seats. While a reserved category
candidate entitled to admission on the basis
of his/her merit will have the option of taking
admission to the colleges where a specified number of seats have been kept
reserved for reserved category but while computing the percentage of
reservation he/she will be deemed to have been admitted as an open category
candidate and not as a reserved category candidate.
Admission
memos will be issued to the selected candidates after the Centralized Allotment
Process. It is obligatory for the candidates to report at the college where
he/she is selected. Failure to report before the Principal concerned for
joining the course on the specified date and time will result in the forfeiture
of his/her admission to the course and he/she will not be considered for any
vacancies arising in future.
Vacancies
arising after the first round of allotment of seats will be filled up according
to the rank of the candidate and reservation norms. Option exercised at the
time of counseling will be final and the candidate is bound to accept the
allotment as per the option. There will be no mutual transfer between the
candidates from one college to another.
