IIIT-Hyderabad is looking for students who aim to transform industry and society by developing new applications/systems by doing cutting-edge research. We focus on research in the core areas of Information Technology and its application in other areas.
IIIT-Hyderabad is inviting applications for the academic year 2011-2012 from the candidates who have completed (or going to complete by July 2011) BTech / BE / BArch etc, in any branch of engineering, BSc in agriculture (or equivalent), BSc in physics, chemistry or biology with good mathematics background, or MTech / ME / MCA / MSc / MA. for admission into postgraduate and research programs in areas of computer science, electronics and communication engineering, VLSI and embedded systems, computational linguistics, computer aided structural engineering, bioinformatics, computational natural sciences (dual-degree and MSc), IT in building sciences, IT in power systems, spatial informatics (remote sensing and GIS), cognitive sciences, humanities, and applied agriculture.

Admission into MTech, MS and PhD programs is very flexible at IIIT. A student with an engineering or science degree in any field/area can seek admission into any other field/area for higher studies. For instance, a candidate who has completed BTech in electronics/electrical/civil engineering can apply for MTech / MS / PhD in computer science, VLSI and embedded systems, and bioinformatics

MTech: Computer science and engineering, Computer science and information security, Computational linguistics, Computer aided structural engineering, Bioinformatics
Eligibility:
All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2011) BE / BTech in engineering (any branch including CS / ECE / EE / Civil / Inst / Biotech) or BArch or Master's degree in science / Maths / IT / ICT /Computer science or MCA
 

PG Diploma:
PG diploma in applied agriculture and information technology (PGDAAIT)

Eligibility:
All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2011). BSc / MSc (Agriculture/Horticulture / Agri Business management)

PG Diploma in Computational linguistics
Eligibility:
All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2011). MA in linguistics, languages and other related areas
MS by research: Computer science and engineering (all areas), Electronics and communication engineering (all areas), Computational linguistics, Computer aided structural engineering (CASE), Bioinformatics, Computational Natural sciences (CNS), IT in building science, IT in power systems

PhD: Computer science and engineering (all areas), Electronics and communication engineering (all areas), Computation Linguistics (for computer science, science and engineering background), Computational linguistics (for linguistics, language and social science background), Computer aided structural engineering (CASE), Bioinformatics, Computational natural sciences (CNS), IT in building science, IT in power systems, Spatial informatics, Cognitive science, Exact humanities

Eligibility:
All who are eligible to apply for MTech programme, are also eligible to apply for PhD programme
All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2010) ME / MTech in engineering
All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2010) masters degree in social sciences or humanities are eligible to apply only for PhD programme with Spatial informatics, cognitive sciences and exact humanities

MPhil: MPhil in computational linguistics

Eligibility: MA or MPhil in linguistics, languages or related areas

GATE scholarships are applicable to the candidates admitted to the programs MTech computer science and engineering, VLSI and embedded systems, Bioinformatics, computer aided structural engineering and computational linguistics, from 2005-06 onwards

Admission Procedure
Admission to PG programmes will be on the basis of the performance at the Post-Graduate and PhD Entrance Examination (PGEE 2011) and an interview to be held at Hyderabad.

How to Apply
All applications should be submitted online in PGEE portal To submit the application, a candidate has to complete two registration forms: Pre-Registration Form and Main Registration Form.
Filling of Pre-Registration Form.
After filling the Pre-Registration form, the candidate receives an E-Mail which contains the link and identification code. The link should be opened in a browser by supplying the identification code to fill in the Main Registration Form.
Filling of Main Registration Form.

The main registration form can only be filled by opening the link received through the E-Mail, after filling in the preceeding pre-registration form.

About Application Fees:
1. Applicants can apply for one or more programmes in the same form by indicating choices.

2. The application fee is Rs 1000/- for one programme and Rs. 50/- extra for each additional programme applied for.

3. Application fee can be paid either through Credit Card or through Demand Draft.
Credit Card - While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Credit Card option follow the subsequent instruction.
Demand Draft- While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Demand Draft option. After submitting the Main Registration form. Demand Draft in favor of IIIT, Hyderabad for appropriate amount should be drawn. A candidate must write application number (received in the confirmation mail) along with the name on the reverse side of the demand draft and send the same to the Chairman, PG Admissions, IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500032, Andhra Pradesh.
