IRMA offers admission to the following programmes:

34th Postgraduate Programme in Rural Management (PRM 2013-15)

PRM is a two-year fully residential postgraduate programme comprising of four different segments – classroom, village fieldwork, development internship and management training. PRM is recognized as equivalent to Master's Degree in Rural Management by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Eligibility: A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 percent (45 percent for SC/ST/dap*) aggregate marks or an equivalent GPA from recognised university / institution at the graduation level are eligible to apply. Applicants, who expect to fulfill the eligibility requirements before, June 17, 2013, may also apply. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Fees:   The total programme cost over the period of two years (inclusive of tuition fee and service charges) is estimated to be about Rs. 4 lakh. Costs for students are kept low through cross subsidisation.

Fee Exemption: IRMA firmly believes that no one should be deprived of education for lack of financial resources. Hence IRMA is open for providing financial assistance to meet the PRM tuition fees of extremely poor Applicants.

Scholarships and loan: Prestigious scholarships are available for meritorious students. IRMA students get loan from State Bank of India, Anand and Central Bank of India, Anand without any collateral.

Campus Placement: IRMA facilitates meaningful placement opportunities for its students. IRMAns are highly valued by national and international development organisations, funding agencies, co-operatives and NGOs. The campus placements (100%) offer ideal combination of job satisfaction and decent compensation. PRM 2010-12 participants received an average annual salary of Rs. 8.07 lakh (highest being Rs. 14.8 lakh).




12th Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM 2013)
FPRM is a coursework based doctoral programme with a residency requirement of minimum 3 years, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Thematic Fields of Specialisation: (a) Management of Collectives; (b) Agribusiness/Rural Marketing; (c) Natural Resources Management; (d) Development Management;  (e) Micro-finance Management; (f) Governance and Livelihoods; (g) Rural Infrastructure and Services Management; and (h) Public Policy and Non-profit Management.

Eligibility: Applicants with any one of the following: 
(i) Postgraduation in any discipline from a recognised Institution with 55% marks, and 50% marks at graduation level; (ii) PGDRM from IRMA; (iii) Four-year professional degree (engineering, agricultural sciences etc.) with 60% marks and at least three years work experience; (iv) Five-year professional degree (medicine, veterinary science, architecture etc.) with 60% marks and at least one year work experience; (v) Applicants who have valid score of UGC JRF (NET)/CSIR in relevant disciplines (management, economics, social work, sociology, psychology, commerce, etc); are eligible for admission to FPRM 2013. SC/ST/OBC/dap* applicants are eligible for 5% relaxation in the marks specified above.  Applicants, who expect to fulfill the eligibility requirements before June 17, 2013, may also apply.

Applicants with PGDRM qualification from IRMA  and applicants who have valid score of UGC JRF (NET)/CSIR in relevant disciplines (management, economics, social work, sociology, psychology, commerce, etc)  are  exempted from writing the written test and will be directly called for interview.

Fellowship:  Every FPRM participant receives a fellowship of Rs. 14,000/- per month till they clear the Comprehensive Qualifying Examination and then Rs. 16,000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per year for a period of 4 years.

Placement: Graduating fellows have joined faculty positions in IIMs, and other reputed institutions/universities

Selection Procedure: 
A written test, common for all the above programmes will be conducted on November 11, 2012 – Sunday (09:15-12:15 hr) at 27 centers across India.
PRM participants are selected on the basis of the written test, group activity and personal interview. 

FPRM participants are selected on the basis of the written test, interview and presentation of an essay.  Applicants with PGDRM qualification from IRMA and applicants who have valid score of UGC JRF (NET)/CSIR in relevant disciplines (management, economics, social work, sociology, psychology, commerce, etc) are exempted from writing the written test and will be directly called for interview.

IRMA has positive discrimination policies for admissions to disadvantaged sections of the society.

27 Test Centers: Anand, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pantnagar, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, and Vijayawada. (IRMA reserves the right to change or cancel any test centre at its discretion)

How to Apply: An applicant can opt for one of the following options: 
a) Apply online and pay through payment gateway.
b) Make payment through SBI’s Online Internet Banking “i-collect” facility, SBI would generate reference number after successful  payment. Use this reference number and apply online through IRMA website.
c) Take a print out of SBI challan available on IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBI by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. Use this unique ID number and apply online through IRMA website.
d) Printed application material (prospectus, application form, sample question paper  etc.) can be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees. 
e) Examination form fees will be waived for applicants belonging to “Below Poverty Line (BPL)” families. Such applicants may apply online or send a request by post or courier for application form to Admissions Office, IRMA with self attested proof of “Below Poverty Line (BPL)” status issued by appropriate authority to get exemption from paying application fees. IRMA will send printed materials (prospectus, application form, sample question paper etc.) to such applicants. If applying online then the applicant is required to send hard copy of application form with self attested proof of “Below Poverty Line (BPL)” status issued by appropriate authority to get exemption from paying application fees. at IRMA. Failure to attach the proof of “BPL” status will lead to rejection of the application.

It is compulsory for applicants to send a hard copy of application form to Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand–388001, Gujarat. Those who are using option “b “and “c” are required to send payment proof with hard copy of application form.

Applicant can download Prospectus of PRM and FPRM and Sample Question Paper from IRMA website. 

As a precautionary measure, Admissions Office, IRMA will also send hard copies of Prospectus and Sample Question Paper to each registered applicant after receiving hardcopy of her/his application form at Admissions Office, IRMA.

IRMA written test score is to be used by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (ED), Gandhinagar, Institute of Rural Management (IRM), Jaipur, KIIT School of Rural Management, Bhubaneswar and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) for their rural management programmes Students are required to apply separately to the particular institute for the admission.
