NOTIFICATION
Sub: Admission to the Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in the UHS, Bagalkot for the Academic Year 2012-13.




Applications are invited for admission to the following Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in the University for the Academic Year 2012-13.


I. MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES:
1 Floriculture and Landscape Architecture 

2 Fruit Science
3 Vegetable Science
4 Post Harvest Technology
5 Plantation, Spices, Medicinal & Aromatic Crops
6 Crop Improvement & Biotechnology
7 Pathology
8 Entomology
9 Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry

B Ph.D. (HORTICULTURE) 

*The students admitted to Dept. of Crop Improvement & Biotechnology at COH, Mudigere will complete course work of 1 year at KRCCH, Arabhavi.


II. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
a. For M.Sc.(Hort):
The candidate should possess a Degree in B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Agriculture) or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized  Horticulture  /  Agriculture University / Institutions recognized by ICAR with a minimum CGPA of not less than 2.25/4.00 or OGPA 6.00/10.00  (For SC/ST/Cat-I  candidates mere pass is enough).
b. For Doctoral Programme:
The candidates should possess  a Master Degree  in M.Sc. (Hort.) / M.Sc.(Agri.)  in Horticulture  or its
equivalent qualification from a recognized Horticulture /Agriculture University/ Institutions recognized by ICAR with a  minimum  CGPA of not less than 2.50/4.00 or  OGPA of   6.50/10.00 (For SC/ST/Cat-I candidates  mere  pass is enough).


III. APPLICATION FORM AND PROSPECTUS:
Application form and Prospectus are available only in the University Website www.uhsbagalkot.edu.in
and can be downloaded.

The  candidates should send  the filled-in Application alongwith  all the relevant  copies of Testimonials
(SSLC,PUC,UG,PG marks cards, Caste & Income Certificate etc.) and D.D. as mentioned below obtained on or after the date of admission Notification but before the last date of submission of Application. No certificate sent after the last date for receipt of the application will be accepted except the OGPA card / PDC of qualifying examination for which the last date of submission will be a day earlier to the date of Entrance Test (i.e., on or before 11.08.2012).
The  filled-in application should be submitted to the Registrar, University of Horticultural Sciences,
Sector No.60, Navanagar, Bagalkot-587103 on or before 03.08.2012 (5.00 pm). The late submitted and incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. The University will not be held responsible for any postal delay.


IV. APPLICATION FEE
General Candidates :Rs.600/- 
SC/ST/Cat-I Candidates Rs.300/-


DD  drawn in favour of  The Comptroller, UHS, Bagalkot,   payable at Bagalkot (obtained from Nationalized Bank only)

V. OTHER INFORMATION:
a)   Reservation of seats are made as per the State Government order in force from time to time.
b)  One additional seat will be allotted for Post- Graduate degree programme to Kashmiri Migrants as per regulations.
c)  The Common Written Test for all the disciplines in M.Sc.(Hort.) & Ph.D. Programmes will be held at College of Horticulture, Bagalkot, Haveli Campus on  12.08.2012 at 10.30  am (Sunday) for all eligible candidates. The list of eligible candidates will be uploaded in University Website on 10.08.2012. No separate  intimation will be sent for attending Written Test/Counseling.
d)   Verification  of all original documents for admission will be  done during Counseling.  All selected candidates should pay the prescribed fees on the day of counseling only.
e)  The first semester will commence on 27.08.2012. All selected candidates should report to the respective colleges and register for the courses.
f) The Candidates from abroad including Non-Resident Indians should send their application through the ICAR/ Govt. of India. Application sent directly to the University will not be entertained. However, Outside Karnataka State candidates can apply directly. If any vacancy remains after accommodating the candidates from Karnataka, other State candidates shall be considered.
