Admission Criteria: Through single window system.

1. Eligibility:

Candidate should be a citizen of India.

2. Nativity:
Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu. Except, for the candidates who have studied in a school in the State of Tamil Nadu continuously without break from 8th Standard to Plus Two, the other candidates should produce the Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority. The candidates who are the children of parent of Tamil Nadu origin but living in other States should also produce the Nativity certificate as mentioned above.

3. Age Limit:
Should have completed the age of Seventeen years on or before 31st December 2012. Evidence should be produced.

4. Educational Qualifications:
(i) Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks. A failure in examination reappearance / first appearance, in compartment in one or more subjects will be treated as an attempt.
(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or)
(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject

(ii) Language qualifications for BSMS / BUMS Courses
(a) For BSMS Course: In addition to the minimum eligibility marks 
1. The candidate should have studied in Tamil medium up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
2. The candidate should have studied Tamil as a subject up to X Standard, or Plus Two, or
3. The candidate must be prepared to pursue the study of Tamil Language as a subject during the First professional Course of B.S.M.S. course, to become eligible to take the other subjects Examination of the BSMS Course

(b) For BUMS Course: In addition to the minimum eligibility marks 
1. The Candidate should have studied in URDU Medium up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
2. The candidate should have passed Urdu/ Arabic / Persian as a subject up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
3. Should have passed the Adeeb-e-Fazil Examination or Entrance Examination of Afzal-Ul Ulama Examination of the University of Madras to be eligible to apply for the BUMS course on the date of submission of application.

5 (A) Minimum Eligibility Marks for BSMS / BAMS / BNYS / BHMS Courses.
(i) Other Communities
a) Minimum of 50% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.

(ii) Backward Communities / BC (Muslim)
a) Minimum of 45% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 45% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.

(iii) Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities
a) Minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 40% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.

(iv) Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar, Scheduled Tribe
a) Minimum of 35% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 35% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.

(v) The candidates under Physically Challenged Category-(Locomotor disability of Lower Limbs alone). OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination.

5 (B) Minimum Eligibility Marks for BUMS Course.
Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Course (Academic) with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology) or its equivalent examination.

Application forms:
Candidates have to use only one common application form for BSMS / BAMS / BNYS / BUMS / BHMS Courses. Application forms can be downloaded from the website: http://www.tnhealth.org

Candidates applying under Special Category should apply in the Application Form prescribed for Special Categories which could be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106 Payable at Chennai for each Special Category subject to the maximum of three Special Categories. Separate application form should be submitted for each special category. 

Candidates applying under Sports category should submit the applications with necessary documents in person at the Office of the Selection Committee, Chennai-600106.

Completed application form with all relevant enclosures prescribed may be delivered, by Registered post / Courier service / speed post to reach:
