Pre-sea General Purpose Rating course (Merchant Navy's Crew Training)

Orissa Maritime Academy, Paradip Port (Orissa) - 754142 has invited applications for admission into Pre-sea General Purpose Rating course (Merchant Navy's Crew Training).

Applicant should have passed 10th class with 40% aggregate and 40% in English in 10th or +2 level and should be 17½ years to 25 years of age as on date of admission. Eye-sight must be 6/6 in both eyes and without colour blindness. Applicant should have height of 158 cm and weight of 48 kg.

The course duration is 6 months. The course commences on 1st July, 2009. The course fee is Rs.50, 000/- inclusive of uniform, lodging, boarding and tuition fees. In addition, STCW course fees to be paid directly by candidates.

Completed application is to be submitted with requisite document along with a DD of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of 'Orissa Maritime Academy', payable at Paradip.

The last date of receipt of application is 21st May 2009. The intake capacity of the Academy is 40(forty) per batch. The short listed (eligible) candidates will be called to the Academy for selection. In the selection procedure, the candidate has to undergo a medical test. In order to ascertain the merit of the candidates, the Academy may conduct a written and viva-voce test in English.

Selection will be strictly on merit basis. The tentative date for medical test and merit test is 19th June 2009. Applicants may take admission by paying fees on date of merit test subject to being qualified.
