MBA in Power Management Admissions 2012-2014
National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Centre for Advanced Management and Power Studies (CAMPS), NPTI Complex, Sector-33, Faridabad, Haryana -121 003, under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has invited applications from Graduate Engineers for admission to the two year full-time MBA Program in Power Management (2012-14), approved by AICTE and affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. The course is aimed at developing world-class Business Managers with a thorough understanding of Power Sector.
Applicants should hold B.E/ B Tech/ BSc (Engineering) or equivalent qualification with 60% aggregate marks in all semesters or equivalent CGPA in case of applicants of the General category and minimum pass marks in case of SC/ST applicants. Those in the final year/semester can also apply provisionally.
Only those candidates having a minimum of 50 percentile score for CAT 2011 are eligible to apply.
Candidates desirous of joining the program have to necessarily appear for the CAT-2011 exam (for non-sponsored category) being conducted by IIMs. Selection will be based on CAT Score followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) at NPTI, Faridabad. SEBs, Utilities and Private Sector Organizations may also sponsor candidates. Sponsored candidates need not appear for CAT examination.

Completed application, accompanied by a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST & Rs. 250/- for Haryana SC/ST candidates), drawn in favour of National Power Training Institute payable at Faridabad, should reach Principal Director, (CAMPS), National Power Training Institute, NPTI Complex, Sector-33, Faridabad-121003, Haryana latest by 28.2.2012.
GD & PI will be held at NPTI, Faridabad on 3rd and 4th April, 2012.
Merit list for General and Reserved category applicants will be prepared by considering 70% of the marks in CAT, a maximum of 20 marks for GD and a maximum of 10 marks for Personal Interview.
In respect of Sponsored candidates, Merit list will be prepared by considering 60% of the total marks in BE/B.Tech/Equivalent, a maximum of 20 marks for GD, a maximum of 10 marks for Personal Interview and a maximum of 10 marks for experience. A sponsored candidate with experience of 10 years or more will get 10 marks, those with experience above 8 years but below 10 years will get 8 marks, those with experience above 5 years but below 8 years, will get 6 marks and those with experience below 5 years, will get 3 marks.
Counseling will be conducted at NPTI, Faridabad on 1.5.2012.
The course commences on 1.8.2012.
The total intake is 120 of which 53 seats are under the General Category, 16 reserved for SC, 8 for ST and 28 for OBC. There are 15 seats under the sponsored category.
NPTI has notified that it maintains close linkages with Power Industry to facilitate Placement.
