Power Sector is continuously expanding sector. The amendments in the Indian Electricity Act have opened private sector participation in the Transmission 8 Distribution ol Power. It has further created a large demand for the trained persons in Electrical Utilities.

The main objective of the course is to create a technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the power companies in [he area of Transmission 8 Distribution of Electrical Power.

ABOUT THE COURSE: This is a unique course of 26 weeks duration which will be conducted by Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI), a unit of NPTI at Bangalore.

The course content complies with the syllabus for Engineers and Supervisors for Operation 8 Maintenance of Transmission 8 Distribution Systems as per Safely and Electrical Supply Regulations 7(3) of Govt of India.

ELIGIBILITY: Bachelor of engineering or equivalent in "Electrical" or "Electrical 8 Electronics' or "Power engineering".

AGE UM/T; No age limit.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Percentage of marks obtained in the B.E. or equivalent examination as per University norms.

NO. OF SEATS: 60 (Sixty only). 25% seats are reserved for sponsored category. Reservation for SC. ST. OBC 8 PH will be as per Govt, norms in the non-sponsored category.

NPTI operates on all India basis through its nine Institutes in different zones of the country .NPTI is starling a 12-Weeks Post Graduate Certificate Course on Thermal Power Plant Engineering for fresh graduate engineers as well as executives from the industry.

RECOMMENDED FOR

The minimum qualifications for admissions to 12 weeks "Post Graduate Certificate Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering" shall be Bachelor degree in Engineering or its equivalent in Mechanical. Electrical. Electronics. Control & Instrumentation & Power Engineering. Those appeanng in their final year examination may also apply. This course can also be attended by the Junior and Middle Level Managers/Executives/Officers as sponsored candidate. Syllabus for program has been designed based on Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010. Attending this 12 Weeks course will help the candidates in acquiring good knowledge and skill of Thermal Power Plant Practices and there by increases their opportunities for getting placement in the Power Sector

National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Centre for Advanced Management and Power Studies (CAMPS), NPTI Complex, Sector-33, Faridabad, Haryana -121 003, under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has invited applications from Graduate Engineers for admission to the two year full-time MBA Program in Power Management (2012-14), approved by AICTE and affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. The course is aimed at developing world-class Business Managers with a thorough understanding of Power Sector.

Applicants should hold B.E/ B Tech/ BSc (Engineering) or equivalent qualification with 60% aggregate marks in all semesters or equivalent CGPA in case of applicants of the General category and minimum pass marks in case of SC/ST applicants. Those in the final year/semester can also apply provisionally.

Only those candidates having a minimum of 50 percentile score for CAT 2011 are eligible to apply.

Candidates desirous of joining the program have to necessarily appear for the CAT-2011 exam (for non-sponsored category) being conducted by IIMs. Selection will be based on CAT Score followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) at NPTI, Faridabad. SEBs, Utilities and Private Sector Organizations may also sponsor candidates. Sponsored candidates need not appear for CAT examination.

Completed application, accompanied by a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST & Rs. 250/- for Haryana SC/ST candidates), drawn in favour of National Power Training Institute payable at Faridabad, should reach Principal Director, (CAMPS), National Power Training Institute, NPTI Complex, Sector-33, Faridabad-121003, Haryana latest by 28.2.2012.

GD & PI will be held at NPTI, Faridabad on 3rd and 4th April, 2012.

Merit list for General and Reserved category applicants will be prepared by considering 70% of the marks in CAT, a maximum of 20 marks for GD and a maximum of 10 marks for Personal Interview.

In respect of Sponsored candidates, Merit list will be prepared by considering 60% of the total marks in BE/B.Tech/Equivalent, a maximum of 20 marks for GD, a maximum of 10 marks for Personal Interview and a maximum of 10 marks for experience. A sponsored candidate with experience of 10 years or more will get 10 marks, those with experience above 8 years but below 10 years will get 8 marks, those with experience above 5 years but below 8 years, will get 6 marks and those with experience below 5 years, will get 3 marks.

Counseling will be conducted at NPTI, Faridabad on 1.5.2012.

The course commences on 1.8.2012.

The total intake is 120 of which 53 seats are under the General Category, 16 reserved for SC, 8 for ST and 28 for OBC. There are 15 seats under the sponsored category.

Admission Eligibility:
Graduates or Post Graduates in any discipline with basic Knowledge of Computers
Candidates appearing in the final year Examination can also apply. However, they will have to fulfill the above eligibility conditions in respect of academic qualifications and furnish evidence to that effect at the time of Interview.

Age limit for non-sponsored candidates upper age limit as on 06.07.2011 is 28 years. No upper age limit for sponsored candidates
