POST DIPLOMA IN THERMAL POWER PLANT ENGINEERING (2012-13)
Covers the mandatory requirements of Indian Electricity Act-2003.
Why you should join?
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector. The course improves and enhances the knowledge and skill of the diploma engineers to perform effectively in Power Sector.
About the Course:
This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants and includes 2 weeks Simulator Training at Faridabad/Nagpur. Formal coaching shall be held at the Regional Institute of NPTI, located at Durgapur (West Bengal). On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorizes the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-stations.
Eligibility:
Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/ Instrumentation from a recognized
technical board of the state/central Govt. with minimum of 60% marks with I class/I
Grade).Graduate engineers are not eligible .
Selection Procedure:
As per Merit (% of marks in Diploma) and subsequent counseling.
Age Limit: 27 years as on 01.01.2012. No age limit for sponsored candidates.
Total Seats: 72(seventy two)-provisional. Reservation for SC/ST/ OBC/ Physically challenged and other categories is applicable as per Govt. of India norms for non-sponsored candidates.
25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma with Class I/I Grade.
Placement: NPTI maintains close linkage with Power Utilities for employment of non-sponsored candidates only. NPTI will not take any efforts for placement of SPONSORED Candidates.
How to Apply:
Application are to be filled On Line with Demand Draft( DD for prescribed Registration fees of Rs. 800/- in favour of NPTI(ER) payable at Durgapur, must be ready at the time of on line registration).The other details are available on our site www.nptidurgapur.com. Each applicant will be given a unique ID on successful registration at site. This ID must be preserved for future reference. On registration the hard copy along with testimonials (refer website) and Demand draft should be sent to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (ER), City Centre, Durgapur-713216, West Bengal along with two copies of latest passport size Photograph, one with application form and other staple with application form (with Name and ID written on back side) latest by 12.01.2012 by Speed post/Registered post only.
No application will be received or considered without requisite attachments and after 12.01.2012. This Institute will not be responsible for postal delay.
Fees:
For non-sponsored candidates Rs. 1,10,000/- (in two installments). For sponsored candidates Rs. 1,50,000/- payable in lump sum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Refundable security of Rs. 2500/- and Rs.3000/- as Transport charges for visits to power stations and industries are payable at the time of admission. (Travelling expenses are to be borne by the participants for Simulator Training).
Fees for candidates from Foreign Countries: e SAARC Countries: US $ 10,000/-
Other Countries : US $ 11,000/-
Lodging/Boarding: Hostel rent of Rs. 21,600/- per annum (@ Rs.1800/- per month) per
participant to be paid in two installments. Separate hostel facility for girls is available.
Hostel facility is subject to availability of accommodation. Food is available on chargeable basis at Canteen attached with hostel.
