GITAM Admission Test GAT 2012
GITAM Admission Test (GAT) is a computer based online test for admission to UG & PG Technology Programs in GITAM University at its Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad Campuses.
B.Tech. (4 years): Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, Architecture (5 Year B.Tech Programme)
5 Year Dual Degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.): B.Tech. + M.Tech. (ECE), B.Tech. + M.Tech. (Mechanical)
M.Tech. Programs (Two Years): Computer Science and Technology (CST), Software Engineering (SE), Information Technology (IT), RF & Microwave Engineering (RF & ME), VLSI Design, Digital Systems & Signal Processing (DSSP), Electronic Instrumentation (EI), Structural Engg. & Natural Disaster Management (SENDM), Power Systems and Automation (PSA), Machine Design (MD), CAD/CAM, Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM), Biotechnology, Food Processing Technology (FPT)
Eligibility:
Pass in 10+2 / 12th examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2012 or 2011 subject to securing the following percentage of marks in specified subjects.
B.Tech. (except Biotechnology) Programs : A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and 1st Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination in single attempt.
B.Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry or Biology, Physics & Chemistry and 1st Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination in single attempt.
Rank obtained in GAT (UGT) 2012.
Candidates who are appearing for 10+2/12th examination in 2012 or who passed 10+2/12th examination in 2011 only are eligible. Students who passed 10+2/12th examination in 2010 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear for GAT (UGT) 2012.
For M.Tech.: Pass in B.Tech. in concerned discipline with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and Score obtained in GAT (PGT) 2012.

Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs. 1,100/- (Rs. 700/- for female candiddates) drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank.
Request by post will be accepted till 5th March, 2012.
The filled - in application along with Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of GITAM UNIVERSITY, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director-Admissions, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam - 530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 14th March, 2012.
