BTech (Information Technology)

A candidate who has secured 80 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class XII from CBSE board or equivalent is eligible for appearing in the entrance test. (Those who have appeared in a Board whose results are not out by the last date of filling the form can apply if their AIEEE rank is less than or equal to 10000, provided they show their mark sheet of Class XII at the time of admission and must have obtained 80% in PCM). A candidate should also be less then 25 years of age on or before the first October 2009.

Note: No candidate without proof of 80% in PCM will be entertained for admission even if he/she qualifies the admission test

Relaxation in eligibility conditions Marks for Reserved Categories

Candidate belonging to the following categories, who apply for seats reserved for them, shall be allowed a concession in the minimum eligibility requirement as detailed below:

Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). A relaxation of 10 percent marks in the minimum eligibility requirements for the seats reserved for them.

Children or Widows of Defence Personnel Killed/Disabled in Action (CW). A relaxation of 5 percent marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.

Physically Handicapped (PH). A relaxation of 5 percent marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.

Tuition Fee Structure

Tuition Fees Rs 75000/- per year (for 2 semesters)

Hostel Fees Including Mess Appx. Rs14100/- (as per NSIT Hostel Fees and changeable as per NSIT Rule

(The tuition fee is likely to increase to Rs 100000 per year from 2010)

Scholarships

Top 10% of the students including one girl will be eligible for scholarship (equal to 50% of Tuition Fess) for the first year. Scholarships in subsequent years will be based on performance in the previous years.

How To Apply:

Candidates seeking admission to IIIT-D will have to appear in the entrance test. Admission decision will be solely based on the merit in the entrance test, and all the seats will be filled through this test (that is, there is no "management quota"). The eligibility criterion on who can appear in the test is given below. Only students who satisfy the eligibility criteria are allowed to take the test and will be required to bring a attested copy of their mark sheet at the entrance test.

Application Procedure

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the entrance test, can apply online (this is the only way to apply). They will have to print out their form, paste a recent passport size photograph, and send it with a draft for Rs 500 payable to "IIIT Delhi" as examination fee to at he following address (through speed post only). As the application form requires the bank draft no, a candidate must have the draft ready before filling the application form online.

Each candidate must keep a copy of this form, which is needed for appearing in the exam. The candidates who are selected through the entrance test will have to show, at the time of admission, original documents like mark sheet for class XII, proof of residency, etc. Anyonefound not satisfying the requirements or found having misrepresented the facts will be liable for cancellation of his/her candidature.

Eligibility:

For PGCTE:

A person with any one of the following qualifications is eligible to apply for PGCTE:
an MA in English OR

An MA with at least a second class in an allied discipline (Linguistics, Education, Mass Communication or Psychology) along with 5 years of experience in teaching English OR

An MA (in any discipline) with at least a second class along with 5 years of experience in teaching "Methods of Teaching English' at the MEd/BEd level.

For PGDTE:

All those who have successfully completed the PGCTE programme are eligible for admission to this programme.

For M.Phil

MA English (TESL)/MA TESL (with 55% or as per EFL University grading system norms) OR

PGCTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00 without an E grade. OR

PGDTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00 without an E grade in either of the semesters.

For Ph.D.:

A candidate is eligible for the PhD programme if he/she has an MPhil degree in English from a recognized university OR if he/she has completed the coursework in the MPhil programme in English from CIEFL/EFL University with a minimum GPA of 3.00.

Note: *Cost of the application form, Fee and Postage to be paid along with the filled in application form. Part payments will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Fees will be refunded to candidates ineligible for admission or who, for any other reason, are not admitted to the course. Once the provisional letter of admission is issued fees will not be refunded.

Procedure for application

1. You can write a letter by enclosing a crossed *D.D. for Rs.500/- to the 'The Dean, School of Distance Education, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad 500 605 for prescribed Application form. Filled in application forms will be accepted from 1 October to 31 December.

2. If you are using the internet application form, please draw a demand draft for an amount of Rs.500/- towards the cost of the application form and another demand draft for fee plus postage charges. That is, an Indian citizen from India should send two crossed demand drafts one for *Rs.500/- and one for *Rs.5600/- along with a filled in Internet application form and mail to 'The Dean, School of Distance Education, The English and Foreign Languages University, (Osmania University Campus), Hyderabad–500 605'.

The *demand drafts should be drawn in favour of "the Registrar, EFL University, Hyderabad 500 605."

Applications will not be entertained without the photo copy of the pass certificate or provisional pass certificate of M A in English.

Admission to B. Pharmacy Course - 2009

Eligibility: (i) For admission to 85% State Quota Seats, the candidates) should be bonafide/ domicile of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to 15% All India Quota Seats, there is no such condition of bonafide /domicile of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) Should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/ University with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Mathematics/ Biology Bio-Technology Computer Science.

Note: (1 ) Pass in 10+2 from National Open School (NIOS) New Delhi with the above subjects shall not be an entry qualification for taking this Entrance Test.

(2) Management Quota seats i.e. 33.1/3% of total state Quota Seats shall also be filled up by respective Private Colleges on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the Entrance Test.

(iii) Age / Date of Birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01 ,1984 are eligible. However, in case of SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years i.e. who were born on or after October 01, 1979 are eligible.

Application procedure: (i) By Cash: For prescribed application form and detailed information etc., the prospectus can be obtained at the University Examination Enquiry-cum-Sale Counter No.1, Library Building (Basement) Summer Hill, Shimla-5 from 8.5.2009 to 3.6.2009 during working hours on payment of Rs. 1000/- for General & other categories, and Rs 500/- for SC / ST categories only .

(ii) By Post: The request for obtaining the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) H.P. University, Shimla-111005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs. 1050/- for General & other categories, and Rs.550/-for SC/ST categories drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P. University, Shimla-5.

No request for obtaining the prospectus by post will be entertained after 22.5.2009. While applying for obtaining the prospectus by post, the candidate must write that the "B. Pharmacy Prospectus-2009 is required" and complete mailing address in CAPITAL LETTERS along with Telephone number.
