Notification for Admission to PhD / Vidyavaridhi Programmes

 

The University will hold Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) on 12 July, 2009 at Varanasi for admission to programmes leading to PhD / Vidyavaridhi Degree for the academic session 2009-10. Some categories of candidates are eligible for taking admissions under CRET-exempted category. However candidates of categories CRET as well as CRET-exempted are required to fill up the application forms.

 

The details about these are available in the Information Bulletin and at our www.bhu.ac.in.

 

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination may also apply but results should be declared before the start of counseling date. Reservations will be as per Government of India rules.

How To Apply: Information Bulletin plus Application Form can be obtained only from the Entrance Test Cell, Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi - 221 005, either on cash payment of Rs.50/- (Fifty) only from 11 AM to 3 PM on working days OR by registered post by sending a written request mentioning: name, postal address & details of crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker?s Cheque along with : (i) A crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker?s Cheque issued by any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank for Rs.100/- (One Hundred) only in favour of the Controller Of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University, payable at Varanasi, (ii) A self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size 32cm x 26cm.

 

Note: (1) Application Processing/Test Fee shall be payable along with the filled up application form as per details in the Information Bulletin. (2) Only MICR Demand Draft/Banker? Cheque is acceptable. (3) Foreign nationals are exempted from appearing in CRET and are required to contact the International Centre, C/3/3, Tagore House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi? 221 005 for further details. (4) Candidates may visit our website www.bhu.ac.in. for further details. (5) Application Form- incomplete and/or received after the last date, shall not be accepted. (6) University shall not be responsible for any delay/loss of application form in postal transit/courier.

 

Incomplete Application Form, not properly documented and Application Form received after the prescribed last date shall not be accepted.

Procedure for Admission

Candidates selected for admission based on cut offs or entrance test will be required to fill up and submit the Admission Form (attached with the prospectus) along with following original certificates and attested copies thereof:

Original Certificate of last qualifying examination (Class XII) issued by the Board or the University. Provisional School/ College leaving Certificate in case original has not been issued

Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination passed.
Class X Certificate for the verification of date of birth
Character Certificate of School/College last attended.

Documentary evidence of Hindi having being studied upto class VIII when the student has not studied Hindi upto class X.  Two recent Passport size photographs. Caste Certificate (if the student belongs to SC/ ST/OBC status) in the name of self.

The University of Delhi invites applications for admission to M.Tech  in Nuclear Science and Technology of 3 years duration. Those who  seek admission to this course must have qualified IIT- JAM and should have obtained bachelors   degree with Physics and Mathematics with 60 percent  marks (55% for all reserved categories).
 
Final selection  will be on the basis of interview. Selected students  will be provided scholarship of Rs. 3000/- per month and  are likely to be sent to reputed Universities / Institutes in France & USA for dissertation / course work.
