Admission to Professional Courses in Karnataka for the Year 2010-11

1.      Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the "Common Entrance Test-2010" for admissions to first year Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy and Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2010-10

2.      A candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and they must compulsorily obtain CET-2010 brochure and submit the filled application form. 3.      The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions of the "Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006".
 
Eligibility: Academic Eligibility:-

(a)  For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/12th std or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as Optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Cate PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test.

(b)  For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy and Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.

For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2010.

(c)   For Engineering / Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

(d)  For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)


IMPORTANT NOTE:
1.      A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2010 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during the year.
2.      The merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects, taken together, in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.
 
How To Apply:
SUPPLY OF BROCHURE CUM APPLICATION FORM
Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs 650/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and Rs 500/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1. The repeater and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2010 should also submit the demand draft for the above said amount to the respective schools / colleges. The Last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 03.03.2010.

The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates ie, who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by "SPEED POST", by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs 750/- drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs 5,000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words "REQUEST FOR CET-2010 BROCHURE" and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by "Speed Post" ONLY The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and will be 05.03.2010

Eligibility: Educational Qualification for Eligibility:-

Graduate (10+2+3) degree or equivalent from any recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate  (45% in case of SC/ST and Non Creamy Layer OBC candidates), without any approximation in the Graduate Examination. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination (10+2+3) degree in 2010 may also apply.

Duly filled application form along with relevant documents as per the instructions given in the Information Booklet should reach the office of The Coordinator RMAT-2010, Government Mahila Engineering College, Nasirabad Road, Makhupura, Ajmer-305002 by 5.00 PM of March 25, 2010, irrespective of the fact that whether March 25,2010 is a working day or not. RMAT-2010 Application Form received after last date and time shall not be accepted.

The application form should be sent by Registered post/Speed post only (not by courier). The same can also be dropped in the locked Drop-Box kept at the RMAT-2010 Office. In any case, the application form should not be handed over to any person. The coordinator RMAT-2010 shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

The acknowledgement of receipt of the application form is through website. Please log-on to website- http://rmat2010.gweca.ac.in and enter your form number in the specified box to confirm the receipt of your application at RMAT-2010 office.

SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY ADMISSION TEST (SAAT-2010) / OBC the marks obtained in Phy, Chem and Bio taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure atleast 50% marks in Phy, Chem & Bio in the entrance test . For SC / ST / OBC the minimum limit is 40%. The lower age limit is 17 years and upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.12.2010. Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST candidates.

B. Pharm:Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2010) with Phy & Chem along with one of the following subjects:
Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology. OR Pass or appearing at the final year of Diploma programme in Pharmacy.

M.Pharm : Pass or appearing at B.Pharm Exam (2010) from any recognized university. GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test but they have to submit the filled up form.

B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic):Pass or appearing at 10+2 Exam. (2010) with at least 45% marks in aggregate (Eng., Phy, Chem., & Bio. taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2010.

B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic) : Passed GNM examination and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Must be a member of TNAI.

M.Sc. in Nursing : Pass or appearing at B.Sc. Nursing (Basic / Post Basic)Degree with 55% aggregate marks from an Institution recognized by INC with a minimum of one year of experience either in teaching or clinical area and they should be registered in SNC as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

Bachelor in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) : Pass or appearing at 10+2 Exam. (2010) in any discipline.

MBA/MHTM/MHA : Pass or appearing at three year Bachelor Degree(2010) in Science, Commerce and Arts/B.E./ B.Tech./MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BDS/BPT/ BHMCT/BBA/BCA examination or equivalent in 2010 from any recognized university having at least 50% of marks.

Candidates having a minimum composite score of 500 in MAT or any other equivalent test are exempted from appearing SAAT-2010 but they are required only to submit the filled up application form.

M.Sc. in Industrial Biotechnology : Pass or appearing (2010)three year B.Sc. & four year Bachelor course in Agriculture /Pharm / Veterinary / Engg. / Tech. /Medicine (MBBS/BDS) from any recongnised University.

Lateral Entry Programmes : Engg., Pharm & HMCT for Diploma holders : Pass or appearing (2010) at three year diploma course in Engg./Pharm./HMCT, with at least 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE & VT, Orissa or equivalent. For Pharmacy, pass or appearing (2010) at two year diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from SBP or SCTE & VT, Orissa, or equivalent. Admission in PGDM (2 Years Full Time) & PGDM (3 Years Part Time) programmes are based on merit worked out on the basis of overall performance in written test carrying weightage of seventy percent and Group Discussion & Personal Interview carrying weightage of thirty percent. The credibility of common examination agency CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA are taken into consideration.

For Admission in PGDM - Executive Part Time, a candidate must have Any recognized bachelor degree in any discipline of minimum 3 years duration and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial/supervisory experience. The candidate is required to face a Personal Interview at the time of admission.

All above mentioned programmes are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of H.R.D., Govt. of India, New Delhi.

The rankings and ratings done by different agencies during the year 2007 have ranked DSPSR among the overall top one hundred Business Schools. Some of the very heartening ratings have rated Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research at 41st rank in terms of International Exposure and over all Ranking of 79th.

This survey was conducted by Business World-GfK published on December 24, 2007 issue. DSPSR has been rated at 35th rank in terms of Faculty, Research, Consultancy, Publication & MDP ranking and 65th in terms of Placement & Industry Interface, for which the survey was conducted by GHRDC published in CSR December 2006 & 2007 issues.

Management Quota Admission Notice

Applications are invited in prescribed format for admission in PGDM under 'Management Quota' from the students who have qualified the entrance test conducted by any one or more of the testing agencies mentioned in paragraph 1 above.

All eligible students desirous to take admission under 'management quota' are required to fill the application form afresh and submit it with a demand draft of Rs.1000/- in favour of 'Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research' payable at Delhi.
