Christ University has invited applications for admission to the following program of the academic year 2014-15.

MBA (Kengeri campus/Main Campus)
Specializations: Finance/ Marketing/ Lean operations and systems.
Two Years, 6 Trimesters

Eligibility:
I) A composite score of 600 or above in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA in either September - 2013 and December 2013 OR 70 percentile or above in the Common Admission Test 2013 (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)

II) 50% or above marks in aggregate in the undergraduate examinations. (Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of undergraduate examinations conducted so far). Students writing their final degree examinations during March-May 2014 are also eligible to apply.

Minimum Score specified for MAT / CAT is only an eligibility criteria and the actual score thereof shall have no bearing in the selection process

(Candidates must note that if selected, admission is provisional and subject to University rules - Any original documents that are pending to be submitted to Office of Admissions, Christ University, must be submitted on or before August 20, 2014. Failing to submit the pending documents will be treated as being unsuccessful in the qualifying exam and admission will be terminated from Christ University).

GROUP A
1. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.. 4 seats- (NO RESERVATION)
 Duration .. 3 years for M.A./M.Sc.(Psychology) degree holders and 2 years after M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology/ Clinical Psychology  Qualification .. First Class Master’s degree in Psychology regular course Or M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology/ Clinical Psychology of any recognized University, for 3 years and 2 years course respectively.

GROUP B
3. M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work. 12 seats (UR-6, OBC-3, SC-2, ST-1)
 Duration .. 2 years
 Qualification .. M.A. in Sociology or Master in Social Work regular course of a recognized University with minimum 55% marks for UR and 50% marks for SC, ST and OBC in the aggregate.
GROUP C
4. Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing.. 18 seats (UR-9, OBC-5, SC-3, ST-1)
 Duration .. One year
Qualification .. ‘A’ Grade Certificate or Diploma in General Nursing and  Midwifery.
 Experience .. Two years’ experience as Staff Nurse.

Group A & B: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month in the first and second year, and Rs. 9000/- per month in the third year. The scholarships are limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Group C: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 2500/- per month. The scholarships are limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates.
However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

 For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.Phil in Clinical Psychology There shall be an entrance test consisting of 100 MCQs type questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview and practical. The test will have questions of MA/M.Sc. standard. The selection of candidates to the course will be based on total marks obtained in Entrance test, Interview and practical.

For M.Phil (PSW) There shall be an entrance test consisting of 100 MCQs type questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview. The test will have questions of MA (Sociology)/MSW standard. The selection of candidates to the course will be based on total marks obtained in Entrance test and Interview.

 For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course there shall not be a written entrance examination. However,
there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.
Note:
 Candidates applying for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Clinical Psychology courses starting from May 1, 2014 need to submit only one application. They should clearly mention the
names of the course applied for, in order of preference.
For Ph.D.(Clinical Psychology, Post M.Phil 2 Years course) :- Certificate of passing M. Phil (M&SP/Clinical Psychology) on or before 31.5.2014. For M.Phil (Cl. Psychology), M.Phil (PSW):- M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, Sociology & Master of Social Work and results declared on or before 15.02.2014.
For the D.P.N.:- 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.02.2014.

 The candidates who do not fulfill above criteria need not apply.
The number of seats in each discipline is subject to change without assigning any reason.

15%, 7 ½% and 27% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and OBC candidates respectively, subject to availability of such candidates. There shall also be reservation of 3%
horizontal reservation for physically-handicapped persons { only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70% or as per the Govt. of India Rules in this regard} subject to availability of such candidates. If suitable candidates are not available under the reserved categories, seats will be filled up by General category candidates. There is no reservation in Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology course.

Candidates who are seeking reservation benefit in the OBC category should submit a certificate as per DOPT O.M. No. 36033/1/2013-Estt.(Res.), dated 27.5.2013.

For selection to the courses candidates must submit percentage of marks from their respective Universities to be eligible for the selection to the courses, where the marks sheet is awarded according to Grade system.

Attested/Photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate
if applicable etc., should be attached with the application. Further, candidates are directed to bring all
certificates in original on the day of entrance examination as well as on the day of interview for verification of the certificates. If any candidate is unable to produce the original certificates, he/she has to produce a certificate from the Head of the Institute/College/University stating that all original/following original certificates are submitted at that Institute/College/University etc.

Details of research experience, if any, in the form of research publications in peer-reviewed journals or
research papers presented in scientific conferences may be attached on separate sheet(s) of paper. Reprints of research papers may also be attached.

 The application form is to be submitted electronically by internet to CIP website: www.cipranchi.nic.in and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect along with a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- for Unreserved candidate and OBC Rs.300/- for SC/ST candidates (non-refundable) in favour of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Ranchi should reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) by December 10, 2013. The hard copy of the application form should be duly signed by the candidate and his/her photograph pasted in appropriate place. Incomplete applications not accompanied with Demand Draft, attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate, Disability certificate if applicable or applications received after due date , i.e., December 10, 2013, shall not be considered. The admit card and a covering letter having necessary instructions will be made available on the CIP website. The admit card and the covering letter are to be downloaded and printed by the candidates and the same to be brought with them to the examination centre. Examinee will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with any electronic communication gadgets, viz., Mobile Phones, pager etc. Examinees, who come to the examination centre, with such gadget, he/she has to make his/her own arrangements for keeping these outside the examination Centre and if found, he/she may be expelled from the examination. This should be strictly complied with.

 From the pool of applicants suitable candidates would be asked to appear for a written examination and interview/practical at this institute, which shall be between February 16–22, 2014. The last date for joining the courses is 31st March, 2014. The candidates are strongly advised to visit the C.I.P. website from time to time for relevant information and instructions. The Institute maintains Men’s and Women’s hostels for a limited number of its postgraduate students.

THE HINDU – HITACHI SCHOLARSHIPS 2014

In association with Hitachi Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, THE HINDU invites applications for scholarships for technical training in JAPAN. The number of scholarships will be three. The terms and conditions are as follows:
1. Candidates who must be Indian Citizens, should not have completed 30 years of age on 31-03-2013 and should be in possession of the minimum Degree of B.E., or B.Sc. (Engg.) or its equivalent from any recognized University. Candidates who have already had practical experience in the branches for which training is proposed to be given, will be given preference. Candidates with at least one year’s professional experience need apply. Those who were interviewed in previous years for the Scholarships need not apply again.
2. The scholarships are tenable in Japan for principally six months commencing about July 2013. Trainees may have general training in one of the following product fields of Hitachi Ltd., (Hitachi) for example (1) IT Solutions and Services (2) Thermal Power (3) Power Generation Plant & Power Grid Control Systems Engineering 4) Rail Systems and 5) Transportation Control System Engineering, being subject to the convenience of each of Hitachi’s establishments. During the training, there will be special emphasis on environment-related and energy-saving technologies.
3. Trainees shall be during their training, under the supervision and direction of Hitachi, which has full discretion on scope, mode, duration and place of establishment of their training. Training will not be available in the R&D activities of Hitachi. They will be subject to the rules and regulations and the discipline of the establishment to which they are posted.
4. Selected trainees will be provided with return Economy Class air passage. Arrangements will also be made for free Boarding and Lodging for trainees in Japan and to defray all expenses for travelling in Japan which may be considered necessary for their training.

THE HINDU – HITACHI SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition, each trainee will be paid a monthly fixed allowance to cover his personal expenses.
5. Parents or Guardians of selected candidates shall guarantee their good conduct and shall undertake to pay for their repatriation should their conduct be found unsatisfactory by Hitachi Ltd., or any public authority in Japan or in case the selected candidates desire to discontinue their studies in Japan for any reason whatsoever during the period of their scholarship.

 Research scholar selected for the Ph.D. will have to complete the allotted course work within two years of the joining of Ph.D. Programme and will be governed by Ph.D. regulations of the Institute.
 Accommodation is NOT available for the Ph.D. scholars in hostel of the Institute.  

Selection Procedure
The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be on the basis of weightage as given below: a) Overall academic performance (to be fixed by the Institute) 70%
b) Interview conducted by the Department 30%
All candidates selected for admission shall be required to deposit the requisite Institute fee at the time of admission.

The application form and other relevant information for admission to Ph.D. program may be downloaded from the Institute website: www.nitjsr.ac.in.  
Applications form, duly filled in, must contain a crossed Demand Draft for ` 1,500/- for General / OBC (`750/- for SC / ST candidates) towards application fee drawn in favour of Director, National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur payable at SBI RIT Jamshedpur (Code 1882) and should reach Chairman – (PG & R) Admission, NIT Jamshedpur 831 014 on or before 29/11/2013.
The following documents (whichever applicable) arranged in the order given below should be enclosed along with the duly filled application:
i) Three recent passport size photographs of the candidate attested by Gazetted Officer / Principal of the
College / Institute last attended.
ii) Self-attested copy of GATE score or UGC/CRIR/NBHM/UGC-NET fellowship.
iii) Self-attested copy of marks-sheet & degree certificate of the qualifying examination
iv) Self-attested copy of provisional certificate of the qualifying examination.

Fellow Program in Management (FPM) - ADMISSION ELIGIBLITY PROCEDURE
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS

The admission process requires a candidate to opt for one of the 4 following alternatives.

Apply online to take the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)

Instead of taking the XAT, FPM candidates can also apply for the XLRI Research Aptitude Test (XL-RAP) which is conducted on Sunday February 2, 2014.
FPM aspirants can also submit GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC JRF (Research/Net) results taken during the year December 1, 2011 and December 20, 2013.
Those who have done their PGP or one year full time GMP/PGPX/Executive PGP from XLRI, any IIMs, FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, XIM Bhubaneswar, IRMA, SP Jain, PG students from IITS, NITs, TIFR, TISS and other comparable Institutes, with a CQPI of at least 6.00/8.00 or equivalent will also be exempted from appearing in the XAT.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a personal interview during March-April, 2014 at XLRI, Jamshedpur for the final selection.
