The Sports Scholarship Scheme has been put on hold by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports pending its revision. The Government has, however, decided to implement the women component of the scheme during the year 2008-09. The details of scholarships to be awarded are as under:-

a) 50 scholarships worth Rs.18,000/- each per annum to unemployed women above 19 years of age securing first/second or third position in individual events only in the senior national champions organized by the recognized national federation. 

b) 10 scholarships of Rs.10,000/- each per annum to women having Master's Degree in Physical Education and doing M.Phil/Ph.D in Physical Education, fromn any recognized physical education college/university in India. 

c) 20 scholarships of Rs.7500/- per course to women having Master's Degree in Physical Education and doing Diploma in Sports Coaching from any one of the Academic centres of the SAI. 

The above scholarships are subject to the applicants' fulfilling the eligibility conditions and attaining qualifying standards laid down under the scheme. The sports achievements between the period from 1-1-2007 to 31-12-2007 only will be taken into the consideration for the award of scholarships for the year 2008-09. The scholarships will be sanctioned for a period of one year. The Sports disciplines covered for scholarships mentioned at (a) above are as under:- 

PRIORITY DISCIPLINES: (14) Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Lawn Tennis, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling. 

OTHER DISCIPLINES: (14) Billiards & Snooker, Bowling, Carrom, Chess, Equestrian, Fencing, Golf, Kayaking and Canoeing, Karate, Powerlifting, Squash, Taekwondo, Wushu & Yachting. 

The eligible candidates may write to the ED(A), SAI, NS NIS, Patiala for the prescribed application form.

The Joint Entrance Examination- 2009, Orissa for admission to the first year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology, MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and to the Lateral Entry of State candidates to third semester of Degree courses in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at selected centres.

Eligibility for admission to First Year Bachelor programmes is as follows:
 
Engineering/Technology:
Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and one of Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 Diploma course in Engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
 
Pharmacy:
Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of  CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one of Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science /Biology or pass in 10+3 Diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
 
MBBS/BDS:
Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.12.2009 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).

Eligibility for admission to First Year Masters programmes:

Computer Application (MCA):
Pass or appearing in 2009, 3-years Bachelor's Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
 
Business Administration (MBA):
Pass or appearing in 2009 in 3-years Bachelor's Degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized University. 

Eligibility for admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy under Lateral Entry Pass or appearing in 3-years Diploma course in Engineering, Pharmacy with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&VT, Orissa or equivalent.

The ratio of distribution of seats under lateral entry for Diploma: B. Sc. is 80:20.
Candidates have to produce their complete result along with original mark sheet of qualifying examination at the time of counselling for admission.

The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories is subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.

OUTSIDE STATE CANDIDATE: Outside State candidates are not eligible for admission in Govt. Colleges but they are eligible for admission to Privates Colleges except Private Medical (MBBS/BDS) Colleges.

NBRC has an integrated Ph.D Programme in Neuroscience for exceptionally meritorious and motivated students with a goal to provide seamless transition from classroom training to high quality research in challenging areas of neuroscience. On successful completion of the entire programme the students will be given both M.Sc and Ph.D degrees.

General Information for Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D applicants
Note:
  1. Only the candidates with a track record of atleast 60% marks in 10th and 12th and 55% in the qualifying examination will be considered. However the cut-off mak for calling the candidates for interview will depend on the number of applications received. Mere fulfillment of minimum requirement will not entail a candidate to be called for the interview.
  2. Candidates appearing for the final year of qualifying examination have to submit proof of having qualified in the examination latest by 31st July 2009. If selected, it will be provisional and subject to production of proof of qualifying in the respective examination with desired percentage.
  3. Candidates claiming equivalence to any of the degrees or examinations carrying fellowships mentioned in this advertisement will have to furnish satisfactory proof from appropriate authority. It is upto NBRC to accept it or not. No correspondence would be entertained in this regard
  4. Concessions / Reservations to SC/ST and PH candidates will be as per Government of India / UGC / NBRC Policy.
The candidates are encouraged to apply through on-line registration facility available at the NBRC website www.nbrc.ac.in. The candidates submitting their applications on-line should send the demand draft and copies of certificates by post along with the copy of acknowledgement duly printed for having filled-in application online to complete the application process.

This is only towards courier/postal charges; seperate amount as mentioned in the following para has to be paid towards Fee.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a two-tier interview at NBRC. Train fare for ordinary sleeper class from the nearest railway station will be paid to the candidates attending the interview, on production of tickets. Selection will be based on performance in the interview. The dates of interview will be intimated later and also be placed on our website. Decision of the screening/selection committee will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. Selected candidates will be eligible for scholarship as per rules and may be provided hostel accommodation on sharing basis.

National Engineering Aptitude Test (NEAT) 2009 is an aptitude test for admission to B. Tech (Honours), B. Tech (Honours)-MBA, B. Tech (Honours)-M.Tech programmes being offered at LPU.


SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

1. The examination would be of three hours duration.
2. The examination would be conducted online at designated test centres.
3. The language of the question paper will be English only.
4. Questions would be multiple choice questions, with four options having a single correct answer
There would be no negative marks for a wrong answer.

5. Students of 10+2 Non-medical will appear for test under Group-A as shown in table below. The Group A students will be eligible for all offered engineering streams including Biotechnology.

Students of 10+2 Medical will appear for test under Group-B as shown in table below. The Group-B students will be eligible for admission to biotechnology stream only.

NEAT- 2009 TEST SUBJECTS: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Aptitude

PROGRAMMES & STREAMS (TO WHICH ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION)
B. Tech (Honours), B.Tech (Honours) – MBA and B. Tech (Honours) – M. Tech in  Biotechnology

Eligibility:
For All Streams Including Biotechnology:  Pass in 10+2 or equivalent or relevant higher qualification (with Physics, Maths and English as compulsory subjects and any one of the following - Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer science/ Biotech) with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

 

Only for Biotechnology: Pass 10+2 or equivalent or relevant higher qualification (with Physics, Chemistry and English as a compulsory subjects and any one of the following - Biology or Mathematics with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

 

SYLLABUS OF EXAMINATION:  No separate preparation/ coaching is required for NEAT-2009 as this is a test for understanding of subjects being learnt in 10+1 & 10+2. The questions for the Examination shall be based on the common minimum syllabus of Central/State boards.

 

University is providing free mock test at its website www.lpu.in/neat2009/mock from 10th April 2009 onwards.

 
 
How To Apply:
Aspirants for NEAT-2009 will submit the application form (Pre-application Supplement (PS)) to the University along with payment of Entrance Fee of Rs.450/-

Either online submission on the University website (www.lpu.in); or

Offline submission by submitting the Pre-application Supplement (PS) downloaded from the University website (www.lpu.in) or as available in Prospectus 2009 in print form;

Either in person at the Counselling & Admission Department at the University Campus or at the designated camp offices of the University or at such other places as specified by the University;

Or by registered post/UPC/Courier at the University Campus only,

Demand Draft or Pay Order is to be made in favour of 'LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY' payable at JALANDHAR.

In case payment is made through Demand Draft or Pay Order or Cash Deposit at Bank, applicants are required to send the Demand Draft or Pay Order or receipt of cash deposit at bank, in original, in a sealed envelope having the applicant name and Pre-application Supplement (PS) written on it:

The Banaras Hindu University will hold an all India written entrance test for admission to Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD(Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantri [MS(Ay)] course [in the subjects – Kayachikitsa, Prasuti Tantra & Stree Roga, Shalya Tantra, Sangyaharan, Kaumarbhritya-Balroga, Shalakya Tantra-Netra Roga, Dravyaguna Vigyan, Rasa Shastra, Swasthbrita, Sharir Kriya, Ayurveda Siddhanta, Ayurveda Samhita, Sharir Rachana, Roga Nidana evam Vikriti Vigyana ] on Sunday, the 21st June, 2009 on its Campus.

 

Last date of submission of Forms: 20.04.2009 
Date of Entrance Test: 21st June, 2009

Eligibility:
Qualification (a) BAMS recognized by CCIM. (b) MBBS recognized by MCI (for supernumerary category only). (c) The candidate must have completed 12 months rotating internship (4 ½ years BAMS course) / 6 months rotating internship (5 years BAMS course) by 31.07.2009.

AGE- The Upper age limit for admission will be 35 years for General and OBC Category and 40 years for SC/ST on 31.07.2009. There is no age limit for Sponsored Category.

How To Apply:
Application form along with information brochure can either be downloaded from website (www.bhu.ac.in & www.imsbhu.nic.in) or can be obtained from the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi-221005 on or before 04.04.09 by sending a written request through
Registered Post along with a demand draft (MICR) of Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of the Director, IMS, BHU, payable at Varanasi along with two self addressed white paper slips of 10 cm x 6 cm size, between 16.02.09 and 16.04.09. On the envelop please write "Application for MD(Ay)/MS(Ay)".

The request for application form by post must reach on or before 04.04.09.The last date for submission of completed application form accompanied by DD/Banker's Cheque (MICR) of Rs. 1000/- (Rs 750 /- for SC and ST) is 20.04.09 upto 5.00 PM. The Institute will not be responsible for loss of application form in transit.
