Christian Medical College, Ludhiana has invited applications for admission to the Post Graduate Medical Degree/Diploma Courses for the year 2010.

Applicant must be an Indian National who holds MBBS Degree from a Medical College recognized by MCI or a foreign Medical Degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing Compulsory Rotating Internship.

An Indian National who has qualified from a Foreign University/School must produce an eligibility certificate recognizing the qualifying examination as equivalent to MBBS as recognized by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and the Medical Council of India which may be obtained from the (i) Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Kotkapura Road, Faridkot-151203, Punjab (http://www.babafariduniv.com) (ii) The Secretary, Medical Council of India, MCI at Sector-8, Pocket-14, Dwarka-1, New Delhi-110075 (http://www.mciindia.org)

Those undergoing 12 month Compulsory Internship/Practical Training and is likely to complete the same by 31.03.2010, can take the examination. However, they will not be eligible for admission unless they complete the Compulsory Rotating Internship and obtains full registration on or before 31.03.2010 or produces a Certificate from the Head of institution that they will be completing Internship by 31.03.2010.

Documentary proof Registration with the MCI/State Medical council has to be furnished at the time of counselling. An applicant, who is expected to complete the service obligation in lieu of Sponsorship (for MBBS/PG-Diploma) by 31.03.2010, may apply. A letter to this effect must be provided along with the application, from the Principal of the concerned Medical College or authorized representative of the sponsoring Body/Church or any other appropriate authority.

Applicant should have completed minimum 2 years of service obligation by 31.03.2010, allowing for adjustment of un-availed leave, if any. Courses include Diploma in Anesthesia, Obstetric & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Medicine, Radio-Diagnosis and Radiotherapy (total 22 seats) and Degree Courses in  Anatomy, Anesthesia, Biochemistry, General Surgery, General Medicine, Obstetric & Gynecology (subject to approval), Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pathology, Pediatric Medicine, Pharmacology, Physiology, Radio-Diagnosis and Radiotherapy (total 43 seats). Of the 65 seats, 32 seats are under minority category and 33 are under Open General Category. Details of seats etc., are available in the Prospectus.

Application package which will include the Prospectus Booklet, Application form, Form 99 and Admit card, will be available from Prospectus counter of CMC Hospital against a payment of Rs. 1000/- in cash, till 5 pm on 4th February, 2010 (Thursday).

Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, has invited applications for admission to the 2-year, MBA (Information Technology-IT) & MS (Cyber Law & Information Security-CLIS) Programmes for 2010-11.

There are 76 seats for each Programme of which 44 each are under the General category. For each Programme, 11, 6, 13 and 2 seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC and PH categories respectively. Graduates from any discipline with valid CAT score (GMAT score for FN/NRI's) are eligible for admission to the MBA (Information Technology) Programme.

Those with BE/B.Tech./Post Graduation/LL.B or equivalent are eligible for admission to MS (Cyber Law & Information Security) Programme. Those appearing for the Qualifying Degree Examinations may also apply, if final result is likely to be declared by 14th July, 2010. Separate Form has to be filled for each program in case candidate is interested to apply for more than one program.

Application Form-cum-Information Brochure can be obtained from the Institute in person or by sending a request in a cover super scribed 'Request for MBA (IT) / MS (CLIS) Program Application form'. The cost of the application form, Rs. 1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/OBC candidates) can be paid in cash or through DD of any Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of 'IIIT-Allahabad', payable at Allahabad. The Institute uses CAT score for short-listing the candidate for the two-year full time Post Graduate Programme(MBA-IT) in Management. Entrance Test & Interview, at IIIT-Allahabad only, for screened applicants in MBA (IT) will be held on 20th and 21st February, 2010. Entrance Test & Interview, at IIIT-Allahabad only, for screened applicants in MS (CLIS) will be held on 27th and 28th February, 2010.

Students could also earn credits towards MTech/ M.Phil/ Ph.D of HBNI provided the performance is above specified standard. DGFS Fellows will get opportunities for doing Ph.D through HBNI.

Qualifying Degree and Disciplines include BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Instrumentation and Engineering Physics, M.Sc in Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Geophysics, Geology and Biosciences.

A minimum of 60% is required in the qualifying Degree/PG Degree. Science Applicants need to have secured 60% in B.Sc also. The Screening for Science disciplines will be based on a written test to be conducted on 28th February, 2010 (Sunday) or valid GATE score. Screening for engineering disciplines will be based on valid GATE score or a written test to be conducted on May 23, 2010 (Sunday). Last date for application for written test in Science discipline is 15.1.2010 and that for Written Test in Engineering disciplines is 15.4.2010. The last date for application based on GATE for Science as well as Engineering disciplines is 15.4.2010.

The selection process would also be used for selecting candidates for research based academic programmes of HBNI and for Diploma in Radiological Physics programme of HBNI.
