PGDC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) 2010 for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2010-11) at National Power Training Institute (NPTI)

A one year course consisting of 2 semesters covering formal coaching and on-job training. This course is conducted at Regional Institutes of NPTI located at Nagpur(Maharashtra), Neyveli(Tamilnadu), Badarpur (New Delhi), Durgapur(West Bengal), Nangal (Punjab) and Guwahati (Assam) whereas the Simulator training forming an integral part of the course shall be conducted at Badarpur / Faridabad / Nagpur Institutes.

Eligibility:
The candidates who have obtained B.E./B.Sc. (Engg.) A.M.I.E. or equivalent degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Control & Instrumentation/ Power Engineering are eligible to apply for admission to this Post Graduate diploma Course. Those appearing in their final year examination may also apply. However, they must submit their result at the time of counseling.
Graduate Engineers sponsored by State Electricity Boards/Power Utilities and Private Companies with at least one year post qualification experience as on 1.8.2010 and minimum 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech./equivalent degree.

Selection Criteria:
The Admission to this P.G. Diploma will be done by NPTI Nagpur on the basis of Merit based on COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) followed by counseling at NPTI Nagpur. CET will be held on 20.06.2010 at 8 centres i.e. Delhi, Nagpur, Bangalore, Durgapur, Faridabad, Guwahati, Nangal and Neyveli. A candidate who is allotted a seat during counseling will be required to pay the 1ST installment of fee (Rs. 30,000/- for non sponsored candidate and Rs. 40,000/- for sponsored candidate) immediately without which the admission will not be confirmed. The payment of fees is only through Demand Draft in favour of "NPTI Nagpur". No other mode of payment is acceptable.

To Apply:
Applications are to be filled online from www.nptinagpur.com or www.npti.in. The registration fee is Rs.800/- to be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of NPTI Nagpur payable at Nagpur and the details of the demand draft to be given while filling online application. Each applicant will be given a unique ID on successful registration at site. This ID must be preserved for future references. one registration hardcopy along with the attested photocopies of following certificates, three passport size photographs (with name & ID written on backside) along with the Demand Draft should be sent to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur - 440022 latest by 10.05.2010.

Admission to the following paramedical courses for the academic Year 2010-11.

1. B.Sc. in Nursing - 77 seats
2. B.Sc. in Radiography - 10 seats
3. B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology - 06 seats

Eligibility-:

1. B.Sc. in Nursing: 4 years duration.

Minimum Qualification for Admission:
(i) Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) OR
(ii) Senior School Certificate Examination, Pre-degree Examination (10+2) OR
(iii) An Equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognized Board or University
(With Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with a minimum of 50% aggregate)

2. B.Sc. in Radiography: 3 years duration.
Minimum Qualification for Admission:
(i) Pre University Course OR
(ii) Job Oriented Diploma course from a recognized Board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject or Equivalent OR
(iii) An Equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognized Board
(With Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology & English)

3. B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology: 3 years duration.
Minimum Qualification for Admission:
Pass in Two year Pre University Course Examination or equivalent with a Science group having secured an aggregate of 50% in Science subjects

GUIDELINES:
Candidates should bring the results of their qualifying examination as on the date of Entrance Test i.e., 27th June 2010.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Application form for all the courses are available online at the NIMHANS website www.nimhans.kar.nic.in The applications have to be filled online and submitted online. Printout of the Application Abstract with the latest passport size photograph affixed (in the column provided) along with the Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore560 029 and relevant enclosures should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore - 560 029 by superscribing the name of the course(s) applied for on the Envelope without fail.
The application fee is Rs.1000/- per course for General candidates & Rs.750/- per course for SC/ST candidates.
Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with other candidates.
Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for Common Entrance Test. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.
