MBA (EVENING) ADMISSION 2008
IMK, University of Kerala invites applications from prospective candidates for the IMK MBA (EVENING) Entrance Examination 2008 for the academic year 2008-09.
IMPORTANT DATES:
The last date of issue of application forms is 15.11.2008.
Duly filled in Application should reach the Director, Institute of Management Kerala, Palayam Campus, Thiruvanthapuram -695034 on or before 15.11.2008.
ELIGIBILITY:
Eligibility for the admission is the pass in the Bachelor's Degree Examination of the University of Kerala or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (ie. In all parts of the examinaition) or a Master's degree Examination of Kerala University or any other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with 50% marks in aggregate (Minimum pass in the case of SC/ST candidates).
ADMISSION PROCESS :
The process of admission is as follows:
1. Students have to appear for the MBA (Evening) Admisision Test of the IMK.
2. Based on the score obtained in the MBA (Evening) Admission Test, the students are invited to participate in the Group Discussion and Interview to be held at the Institute of Management in Kerala, Palayam Campus, Thiruvananthapuram-34.
3. The Rank List for admission to the MBA (Evening) Programme of the University will be prepared and published on the basis of the score obtaianed in the Entrance Examination, Group Discussion and Interview.
HOW TO APPLY:
Prescribed application forms can be had from the Director, Institute of Management of Kerala, University of Kerala, University Office Campus, Thiruvananthapuram-695034 on request accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs.510 /- drawn in favor of the FINANCNE OFFICER, UNIVERSITY OF KERALA, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
The D.D. should be drawn from any branch of SBT/SBI or District Co-operative Bank and the Name and address of the candidate and the purpose of the D.D. should be indicated on the back of the D.D. Those who want the application form by Registered post should enclose postal stamps worth Rs.32/- along with the D.D. and request. (No cover needs to be enclosed). The filled in application form should accompany the D.D./Chalan of Rs.510/- for application fee.

OTHER PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY IMK
MBA Programme (Full time)
The MBA course curriculum is designed to give students an extensive understanding of the nuances of various management disciplines. Spread over 2 years (4 semesters), the programme specifically aims at imparting the students the state of-the-art knowledge of the concepts and techniques of management, developing the ability to comprehend the environment and acquire analytical decision-making and fostering a novel approach to work.
Emphasis is laid on self development through various personality development programmes like simulation exercises, role-plays, case analysis, group works etc. The students are also equipped with a holistic outlook towards life based on ethical values and social responsibilities.

Eligibility:
Candidates who have obtained at least 50% for graduation are eligible to apply for the entrance test.
Selection is on the basis of qualifying in the Entrance test followed by Group Discussion and Interview
Applications for the entrance test will be invited called of during Janurary-Februrary every year. Kerala University Common Admission Test,GD,Interview will be held durning April- May every Year .Course commences every year in the month of June.
MBA (Evening Programme):
The institute offers an MBA Evening programme having duration of six semesters. The course is tailor- made for working professionals who would like to add an MBA to their qualification. Classes are scheduled between 5.30pm to 8.30pm on all working days. Eminent academicians and professionals from the industry are involved in the pedagogy. Selection is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the University of Kerala followed by group discussion and interview.
Eligibility:
Candidates who have obtained at least 50% for graduation and having work experience of two years after graduation are eligible to apply for the entrance test.
Applications for the entrance test will be invited during September-October every year. Course commences every year in the month of December.
Ph.D. Programme:
The institute offers Ph.D. programmes in the various disciplines of Management. Selection is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the University of Kerala followed by an interview with the Doctoral Committee.
Eligibility:
Candidates who have obtained at least 55% for the post graduation are eligible to apply for the entrance test.
Applications for the entrance test will be called of during August-September every year. The Entrance test is conducted on December every year.
Registration:
On clearing the entrance test, a synopsis has to be prepared relating to the subject intended for research work and submitted along with the application form for registration. The Research Guide must also be identified before the submission of the application. Registration is possible for Full-time and Part-time research work.
A monthly stipend of Rs. 3000/- will be paid to Full-time Research Scholars from the date of registration. For registering Part-time, candidates should have at least three years of work experience after post graduation.
