The Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Process Outsourcing (“P.G.D.L.P.O.”) has been developed by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (“IGNOU”) and Rainmaker. This one-year distance-learning diploma programme, the first, and only one of its kind in the country, aims to prepare students for the fast-growing outsourced legal services sector. The P.G.D.L.P.O. is based on a needs analysis of the Legal Process Outsourcing (“L.P.O.”) industry in India.
An Expert Committee, constituted of leading academicians such as Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon, the doyen of Indian legal education, leading industry players – such as Clutch Group and UnitedLex, and practicing Supreme Court and High Court advocates, has provided invaluable insights and suggestions that have helped ensure the most relevant and up-to-date curriculum and methodologies.
The programme follows the tried and tested methodology and training techniques that each of the IGNOU, School of Law and Rainmaker have developed through their vast experience. The programme is provided in a distance- and online-learning format, so that working professionals and students alike can enjoy its full benefit.

Aim
The P.G.D.L.P.O. seeks to train law graduates to ensure a perfect fit in existing legal practices in India, focusing on the outsourced legal services industry. The P.G.D.L.P.O. aims to satisfy needs at two levels: at the employee level, to aid law graduates in enhancing their employability, and at the industry level, so that employers can be assured of the quality of their prospective recruits.
Duration
This programme is divided into two semesters over the course of a year. This programme will take students through certain fundamental areas of learning that are crucial for any lawyer desirous of joining this exciting sector of the legal industry.
P.G.D.L.P.O. Courses
Keeping industry requirements in mind, the P.G.D.L.P.O. programme is divided into the following four subject areas, each with a focus on areas critical to your success in the outsourced legal services industry: legal knowledge and skills, industry awareness and preparedness, technology and legal ethics, and communication.

Any law graduate, or law student in the final year of the LL.B. programme, may apply.
