Periyar Maniammai University invited applications for admission to the BE/B.Tech/B.Arch Programmes for 2009-2010.
B.E (4-Year) -
Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
B.Tech (4-Year) -
Bio-Technology, Information Technology and Petro-Chemical Technology.

Applicant should have completed 17 years as on 1st July, 2009.
For admission to B.E/B.Tech, applicant should have a pass in 10+2 examination or a pass in one of the HSC (Vocational Stream) with Engineering/Technology Vocational subjects and any one or two of related subjects like Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with minimum marks in the relevant subjects. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes while Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for Biotechnology and Petro Chemical Technology programmes.
Candidates seeking admission to B.E/B.Tech, have to appear for the Periyar Maniammai University Entrance Test-2009 (PMUET-2009) to be held from 10 am to 12 noon on 10.5.2009 (Sunday) at Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Nagercoil, Neyveli, Perambaiur, Salem, Tiruchirappally, Tirunelveli, Karaikudi, Vellore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam, Bangalore, Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehradun, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Mumbai, Bhopal, Nagpur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

HOW TO APPLY:
Applications can be obtained from the main University Campus at Thanjavur or from the Information Centres at Periyar Community College of Continuing Education, Near New Bus Stand, Thanjavur-613005, Periyar Centenary Educational Complex, Sathanoor Main Road, Trichy-620021, Periyar Thidal, 50, EV Sampath Salai, Veperi, Chennai-600007 and Periyar Centre, Jasola, New Delhi-110025. It can be obtained from any core banking service branch of Indian Overseas Bank.
It can also be downloaded from www.pmu.edu Application fee of Rs.750/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST) has to be paid by way of a Crossed Demand Draft or IPO or IOB Challan drawn if favour of 'The Registrar, PMU, Vallam, Thanjavur', payable at Vallam, Thanjavur.
Filled in applications are to be submitted to 'The Registrar, PMU, Vallam, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu-613403', (along with the application fee in case of downloaded form), and a self- addressed stamped envelope of 27 cm x 12 cm size.
The University also offers 5 Year B. Arch Course. For admission to B.Arch, applicant should have 50 % aggregate marks in 10+2 or a pass in 10+3 Diploma or IB Diploma with 40% marks in NATA. SC/ST candidates need at least 45% marks in aggregate with 40% marks in NATA. Candidates seeking admissions to B.Arch should have taken only NATA. They need not take PMUET-09.
Candidates have to submit their filled in application along with an attested copy of the NATA score card and an application fee of Rs.500/- as DD and a self- addressed stamped envelope of 27 cm x 12 cm size to 'The Registrar, PMU, Vallam, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu-613403'. Reservation will be as per the norms of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.
