Admission Notice
Panjab University Chandigarh, one of the premier Institutions of higher education in India, launched UIAMS at its campus in order to cater to the needs and aspirations of the fast expanding fields of globalized Industry and Management Sciences by offering SECTORAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES in Specialized areas. . The University will hold Entrance Test on March 22, 2009 (Sunday) from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon for admission to following courses for the academic session 2009-10.

Eligibility:
MBA (Retail Management) and MBA (Banking and Insurance)
A Bachelor's or Master Degree in any discipline of Panjab University or of any other university recognised by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in aggregate; OR
Pass in final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India OR
Diploma in Marketing Management with not less than 60% marks in the aggregate, provided the candidate holds a Bachelor's degree Candidates appearing in the Final Degree Examination are eligible to apply and can take the test provisionally.
Concession of 5% marks in the eligibility requirements for SC/ST candidates.
MBA (Telecommunications and I.T.) and MBA (Infrastructural Management)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology, i.e. B.E./B. Tech. (in any Branch) with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. OR
Bachelor's degree in any Science subject with Physics and/or Mathematics with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. OR
Master's Degree in any Science Subject with 50% marks having passed B.Sc with Physics and/or Mathematics Candidates appearing in the Final Degree Examination are eligible to apply and can take the test provisionally.
Concession of 5% marks in the eligibility requirements for SC/ST candidates.
MBA (Pharmaceutical Management)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate OR
M.B.B.S. OR
Bachelor's Degree in any Science Subject with 50% marks in the aggregate and Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks.
Candidates appearing in the Final Degree Examination are eligible to apply and can take the test provisionally.
Concession of 5% marks in the eligibility requirements for SC/ST candidates.
MBA (Hospital Management)
MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ BPharmacy/ BSc (Nursing) of Panjab University or a degree of any other University which has been recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. OR
Master's Degree in any Basic Medical Science Subject (Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics) with 50% marks in the aggregate.
Candidates appearing in the Final Degree Examination are eligible to apply and can take the test provisionally.
Concession of 5% marks in the eligibility requirements for SC/ST candidates.
SCHEME OF TEST: The Entrance Test will carry 85% weight age and will be of 2 Hours duration. It will consist of multiple- choice questions having four responses A, B, C & D. The components of the test will include: (i) General Knowledge; (ii) Economics and Business Environment Awareness; (iii) Data interpretation and problem solving; (iv) Numerical Ability; (v) Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and (vi) English Comprehension.
MERIT LIST: The admission will be made on the basis of the Entrance Test (85% weight age), Group Discussion (7.5% weight age) and Personal Interview (7.5% weight age). The result of the Entrance Test will not be sent to the candidates but will be conveyed confidentially to the Director, UIAMS who will compile comprehensive result after the Group Discussion and Interview and notify the same on the UIAMS notice board as well as the UIAMS website.
