Applications have been invited for 'Energy Biosciences Overseas Fellowships', by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The scheme is aimed at bringing back scientists of Indian origin working outside the country in the fields of energy related biological sciences and other areas related to bioenergy, and who are desirous of pursuing R&D in an Indian institution. The duration of the fellowship will be for a period of 5 years.
The applicant should be a person of Indian Origin working overseas and possesses a Ph. D in relevant areas and/or an outstanding track record reflected in publications and other recognitions.
Energy Biosciences Overseas Fellows can take up fellowship at any of the scientific institutes/ university in India and the application should be supported by the competent authority of the host Institute. Selected awardees will receive a fellowship amount of Rs. 75,000/ pm (consolidated) and a contingency grant of Rs. 5,00,000 / year for purchase of consumables, minor equipment, international and domestic travel, engaging manpower and other contingent expenditure to be incurred in connection with the implementation of research project.
