AIPMT 2011 Preliminary will be on April 3, 2011

The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2011 for admission to the 15% All India Quota seats for MBBS/BDS courses 2011, in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India, as specified in the directive of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi in two stages in April and May 2011.

Preliminary Examination: The first stage of the entrance examination, the Preliminary Examination to be held from 10 am to 1 pm on April 3, 2011 (Sunday), would consist of one paper of 3 hours duration containing 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each question will be followed by four options with single correct answer which is to marked on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.

Final Examination: The Final Examination for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination, to be held from 10 am to 1 pm on May 15, 2011 (Sunday), would also consist of one paper of 3 hours duration with 120 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each question will have four options with single correct answer, to be marked on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.

Language of Question Paper: Candidates can opt for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling in the Application Form and the same cannot be changed later.

Centres of Examination: The Preliminary Examination would be held at Itanagar  (Code-01),Agartala (02), Port Blair (03), Shillong (04), Imphal (05), Panaji (06), Puducherry (07), Guwahati (08), Trivandrum  (09), Cochin  (10), Bhubaneshwar (11), Chennaim(12), Patna (13), Ranchi  (14), Mumbai (15), Nagpur (16), Ahmedabad (17), Shimla (18), Lucknow (19), Noida (20), Dehradun (21), Chandigarh (22), Delhi (23), Kolkata (24), Bangaluru (25), Bhopal (26), Raipur (27) and Jaipur (28)

The final Examination will be held at Cochin  (51), Bhubaneshwar (52), Chennai (53), Ranchi (54), Mumbai (55), Lucknow  (56), Delhi (57), Kolkata (58), Bhopal (59) and Jaipur (60)

Candidate should select three cities for Preliminary Examination and two city codes for Final Examination.

ELIGIBILITY:
Nationality and Age: Applicant should be an Indian National and should have completed 17 years at the time of admission or should be completing the age on or before 31st December, 2011. Upper age limit will be 25 years as on 31st December, 2011. This would be relaxed by 5 years for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes. So, applicants should have been born on or between 1.1.82 and 1.1.95 in case of SC/ST/OBC Category and on or between 1.1.87 and 1.1.95 in case of all other categories.

Qualifying examinations: Applicant should have passed any one of the following qualifying examinations

(i) Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education

(i) The Intermediate/Pre-Degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and English

(iii) The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects

(iv) The first year of the 3 Year Degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and further that applicant has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English.

(v) B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that applicant has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

(vi) Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology; which shall include practical test in these subjects.) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

Appearing candidates: Those taking the qualifying examination prior to the competitive test or those awaiting result may also apply for AIPMT. However, such applicants will not be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of allotment by personal appearance.

Marks requirement: Applicants must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination and in the competitive entrance examination. SC/ST/OBC applicants need only 40% marks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Bio-technology together in the qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination. For persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks would be 45% for General-PH and 40% for SCPH/ST-PH/OBC-PH. Students of Indian Nationality educated abroad seeking admission to Medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English upto the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency will be determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

Reservation: 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 27% for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions only as per Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 10.04.2008. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for PH candidates. The reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of implementation of reservation will be available at www.mohfw.nic.in

Submission of Application: A candidate can apply for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination in the online submission mode or in the .the Offline submission mode.

Online Application Forms: Application can be submitted online at http://aipmt.nic.in/aipmt2011/aipmt/online/instruction.aspx till 5 pm on 31.12.2010. The fee of Rs.700/- (General /OBC)/Rs. 350/- (SC/ST) has to be remitted by Credit card or through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the' Secretary, C.B.S.E., Delhi', on any Nationalized bank, payable at Delhi. Applicant should write the name, address, contact number and Application number on the back of the Demand Draft. After submitting all the required details as per the instructions given at the site, applicants are required to take a print of the Online Application. The print out of the computer generated Application Form should be sent by Speed Post / Regd. Post to reach the Board on or before the last date.

Offline Application Forms: For those desirous of applying offline, the Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be obtained on payment of Rs.800/- (General/OBC)/Rs. 450/- (SC/ST) by cash, from any of the 177 notified branches of Canara Bank listed at http://aipmt.nic.in/aipmt2011/aipmt/BankForSale.pdf from 13.12.2010 to 31.12.2010. Banks will charge Rs. 5/- as Service Charge for the sale of Information Bulletin in addition to the fee.

Last date of Receipt of Application Form: Application Form and the confirmation page in case of online application, along with all the required documents should reach 'The Deputy Secretary (AIPMT Unit), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 301', by Registered Post/Speed Post only latest by 7.1.2011. Application Form will not be received personally from candidates in any case. A grace time of 15 days will be allowed from the last date of submission of the application to applicants belonging to remote areas, namely Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Submission of Application with late fee: Application can be submitted online from 10.1.2011 to 17.1.2011 with late fee of Rs.500/-. In such cases, an amount of Rs.1200/- would have to be paid by General/OBC candidates and Rs.850/- by SC/ST candidates as fee which includes the late fee of Rs.500/- through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the' Secretary, C.B.S.E., Delhi', on any Nationalized bank payable at Delhi. The Computer Generated Confirmation Page of these candidates must reach CBSE (The Deputy Secretary (AIPMT Unit), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 301), on or before 24.1.2011.

Confirmation of receipt of Application Form: Confirmation of the Application Forms received by the Board is likely to be hosted on Board's website within 15 days time from the last date of receipt of the Application Forms. Applicants may check the status of their Application Form at that time. If the status of Application form in respect of any candidate who had sent Application Form through Speed/Registered post is shown as 'form is not received', they may contact the Board latest by 7.2.2011 along with (i) Photocopy of the filled-in Application Form (ii) Original receipt issued by the Post Office for having despatched the Application Form, in case the Application Form is submitted Offline and with (i) Photocopy of the computer generated filled in Application Form (ii) Original receipt issued by the Post Office for having despatched the Application Form (iii) Proof of fee paid (Photocopy of the Demand Draft, if fees remitted through DD/Photocopy of the statement of the Card if fee is paid through Credit Card), in case Application Form is submitted Online. Request for non-receipt of Application Form will not be entertained by CBSE after 7.2.2011.

Admit Card: Admit Card bearing the candidate's roll number, name, Father's name, Category, Sub-Category, photograph, signatures, Date of Birth, language of question paper with name and address of AIPMT centre allotted, will be sent to the candidates by post. Admit card would also be made available on website. Candidate should examine all the entries in the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, the same should immediately be informed to the Board. In case the Admit card for Preliminary Examination is not received by 20th March 2011, candidates should contact the Board between 21.3.2011 and 29.3.2011 only.

In case of Candidates qualifying for the Final Examination, a separate admit card indicating the new roll number and other details will be issued. If the Admit Card is not received by 3rd May 2011, the candidate should contact the Board between 4. 5.2011 and 10. 5.2011.

Declaration of Result: Result of Preliminary Examination will be declared by the 3rd week of April, 2011 and the same will be hosted on Board's website. Candidates qualified for the Final Examination would be issued a separate admit card indicating new roll number and other relevant details. Result of Final Examination will be declared by 1st week of June, 2011 and the same will be hosted on Board's website. Board will prepare the merit list/wait list as per the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, DGHS and MCI. There will be no separate result list of SC/ST candidates. There is no provision for re-cheking/re-evaluation or supply of photo copies of answer sheets for inspection to the candidates. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Counselling: Couselling will be held by personal appearance through Video-Conferencing with the main counseling venue at New Delhi  (CHEB Building, Aiwan-E-Galib Marg, Kotla Road, Opp. Mata Sundary College for Women, New Delhi-110 002) and at Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. Candidates should specify their counselling venue at the appropriate place in the Application Form and the same cannot be changed subsequently under any circumstances.
