Applications
are invited by Azim Premji University, Bangalore from working professionals,
teachers and fresh graduates for admission to the Masters’ Programmes 2013 -
2015.
Post-graduate
programmes (2 years)
1.
Master of Arts in Education
Develops
outstanding professionals for fulfilling careers in Education, including as
administrators, curriculum designers, entrepreneurs, technology experts, policy
specialists, researchers etc. Students will have the opportunity to focus on
specific areas such as Early Childhood Education, School Leadership and
Management etc. in the second year. Alternatively, students can pursue a
balanced general programme as well.
2.
Master of Arts in Development
Builds
high calibre professionals for leadership in the social sector, with abilities
in inter-related development domains, ranging from Governance & Health to
Ecology. Career opportunities would be across these domains, including in the
field, in operations, in analysis and policy roles.
3.
Masters in Teacher Education
Develops
highly competent teacher educators. Serves the critical need of the Indian
education system, to have a large number of dedicated, high ability
professionals in the teacher education system
Eligibility
Criteria
MA
(Education) and MA (Development): Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Candidates with work experience are actively encouraged to apply to both these
programmes.
Master’s
in Teacher Education*: Master’s Degree in any discipline and a professional
teaching certification (BEd, DEd, BELEd or equivalent). Minimum two years of
teaching experience at School or Pre- University levels.

Encouraging
Diversity:
The University welcomes applicants from different socio-economic backgrounds,
caste, das. religion and gender and has established several processes that
helps address students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The University uses a
diversity index which helps to identify an appropriate weight age to be awarded
to a candidate based on the sodo economic information shared by him/her in the
application form. 25% of seats are reserved for Karnataka domiciled students
and are offered to card dates who have met all the
selection criteria.
Applications: Application
forms for the degree programmes will be available online on the University
website from December 1, 2012 onwards. Offline forms will be made available on
request Students may choose to apply for both the programmes.
Selection
Process:
The selection process for both the University degree programmes will have a
written test and a personal interview.
• Written Test: Eligible
candidates will be required to take an all-India Written Entrance Test on February 24, 2013.
To enable easy access for students, test centers will be available across the
country.
• Personal
Interview:
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of writ ten test performance will be called
for a personal interview between March 15-30,2013.
Announcement
of admissions to these programmes will be made in all leading newspapers and on
the university website.

Getting the
Application Form
By electronic
means: Canddates can access and fill in the Azim Premji University application
form and complete the entire application process online at www.azimpremjiuniversity/edu.in/admissions
By
downloading the application form and fee payment challans from the University
website and filling it in: Candidates can download and print a copy of the
University Application Form and fee payment challans from website. The details
on the form can be hand written.
Candidates
can also write to the Admissions Cell, Azim Premji
University, PES Institute of Technology Campus, Pixel Part:, B Block,
Electronics City, Hosur Road (Beside NICE Road), Bangalore, 560100. Candidates
are requested to endorse a self addressed A4 sized thick envelope, affixed with
a postage stamp of Rs.50. The envelope should be accompanied with a request
letter containing details of name, address and contact number of the candidate.
The application form, application fee payment challans and information brochure
will be mailed back to the candidate.
Application Fee: An application
fee of Rs.250 is payable to apply for all programmes. The fee remains the same
whether candidates apply for one or more programmes. The application fee is
payable through one of the following ways:
Online: Complete the
online application form and make the Rs.250 payment online through a
credit/debit card or an internet banking account An online transaction charge
is applicable for payments by credit /debit card.
Cash payment State Bank of
India Branches: Pay Rs.250 (additional bank charge applicable) at any SBI
Branch across the country, using the prescribed fee payment challans. Payment
to be made into Account No: of "Azim Premji University
– Fees a/c” at SBI Power Jyoti account no. 31645699196 , Branch Code 14125.
Cash
payment Union Bank of India Branches: Pay Rs.250 at any Union Bank of India
branch across the country, using the prescribed fee payment challan. Payment to
be made into Account No: 554301010050039. No
additional bank charges.
