Internship Programme for Engineering (3rd/4th year
B.Tech., 1st/2nd Year
M.Tech.) or Science ( 4th /5th year
M.Sc) students
Objectives:
To offer opportunities to suitable
students to participate in our ongoing applied and technology oriented projects
and obtain practical research training experience in CSIR-CGCRI in field of
Specialty Glass and Advance Ceramic Technology.
Period: 6-8 weeks during
summer vacation
Eligibility and application procedure:
The student must be pursuing Engineering
(3rd/4th year B.Tech., 1st /2nd Year M.Tech.) or
Science ( 4th/5th year M.Sc) in a recognized
University/ Institute /College in the relevant area.
He / She should have secured at least
60% marks throughout his / her academic career (from High School onwards).
The student must have adequate
theoretical background (through regular coursework) in relevant area.
Bio-Data (as per enclosed proforma)
and academic records of the student mentioning percentage of marks obtained
in different examinations from Madhyamik / School Final onwards indicating the
name of the college/university/institute where studied.
Original copy of the Recommendation
Letter of the Principal / Registrar /Head of the Institution /University,
mentioning the training programme sought and the date & period of the
proposed training. [See the ‘SAMPLE REQUEST LETTER’].
Only the request letter written by
the student/candidate will not be considered.
Area(s) in which
training is requested is to be mentioned. [Different areas of ongoing Research
work can be available at CSIR-CGCRI website [ http://www.cgcri.res.in
]
Interested
candidates must submit a 1-page research proposal along with his/her application.
This proposal apart from Bio-Data will constitute an important criterion for
selection.
Applications are to be sent by post in
the following address or may be delivered to the Receiving & Dispatch
Section, CSIR-CGCRI. The envelope containing the above documents is to be super
scribed as TRAINING/Project Work (Dept./University/Inst/ period of training).

[Those who are pursuing 1st year or 2nd year B.Tech are
not eligible for summer training].
When to Apply:
Final applications must be received by
the Head, Programme Management Division (PMD) latest by March
20, 2013.
The list of selected candidates (including wait listed ones) will be notified
through CSIR-CGCRI website by first week of April 2013.
Training Fees & Accommodation:
There are no fees or tuition costs
associated with participation in the summer training /project work. Financial
assistance to the trainees will not be provided.
The students have to make their own
arrangements for accommodation in Kolkata for outstation candidates.
The training period will be minimum 6
weeks to maximum 8 weeks.
