MBA Admission Notice 2015

Applications have been invited for admission to the 2-year (4-Semester) Full-Time MBA Programme 2015-17,at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, and it’s Off Campuses at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur and Noida.

Applicant must have appeared in CAT-2014and should have obtained a valid total percentile / score of at least 40 (35 forSC/ST).
Applicant must hold a Bachelor's Degree obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (Class 12 or equivalent) (10+2+3 system) or equivalent qualification from a recognised University or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India / AIU and must have minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Honours / aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwD) in graduation.

Those appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2015 can also apply provisionally, subject to the conditions stipulated and submission of proof of passing their final examination with requisite marks by 31st October 2015 failing which the provisional admission will be cancelled.

Those who have qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance learning programmes are eligible only if the programmes are recognized by the DEC-IGNOU and they have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks. They must enclose photocopies of pass certificate and mark sheets of qualifying examination with their application.

Appearing candidate in distance learning programmes, whose results are yet to be declared, are not eligible to apply.
Those with foreign diplomas should visit to see for equivalence and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website

A printout of the application is to be taken after that. The printout of the completed form along with required enclosures and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs 2,500/- (General / OBC) and Rs.1,500/-(SC/ST) candidates in favour of ‘Birla Institute of Technology’, payable at Ranchi, should be sent in a A4 size envelope by Speed post / reliable courier to ‘The office of Dean, Admissions &Academic Coordination, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi-835215’, to reach positively by the due date. The envelope should be super-scribed, ‘Application for MBA-2015’.

The Last date for submission of online Application Form is 27th February 2015 and the last date for receipt of printouts of duly completed forms along with Demand Draft at Mesra is 10thMarch 2015.

Applicants will be short-listed for ‘Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI)’ on the basis of their total percentile in CAT-2014. The campus-wise list of short-listed candidates called for ‘GD & PI’ will be notified on the Institute website and Notice Boards at BIT Mesra / concerned Off Campuses. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.

Campus-wise list of short-listed candidates for GD & PI will be displayed on the Institute website / Notice Boards of concerned Campuses on 20th March 2015.

The Group Discussion & Personal Interview will be conducted at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mesra and Noida campuses between 6th and 10thApril, 2015 (tentative dates).Candidates should carry the required set of documents / certificates along with photocopy of their online form at the time of GD & PI. Details of documents /certificates to be carried at the time of reporting for GD &PI are available in the Information Brochure.

Selections to MBA programme will be made on the basis of total percentile obtained by a candidate in CAT-2014 and performance in GD & PI with 80%weightage for CAT total percentile and 20 % for Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

Selection lists, along with procedures for admissions, will be notified only after the GD&PI process at all Campuses is over, at and at the Notice Boards of the Institute / concerned Off Campuses only. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.

Provisional Selection List (First List) is to be declared on 13th April 2015. Selected candidates will be required to take admission by the dates given at the Campus of selection by depositing fee and original certificates. Seats remaining vacant will be allotted to waitlisted candidates. The list of waitlisted candidates will also be announced on the Institute website and Notice Boards of the Institute / concerned Off Campuses only. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.

Classes at all Campuses will commence on 1st August 2015.
