Admission application for Doctoral of Philosopy (Ph.D) Programme at mentioned below Institutions session 2015

Eligibility Criteria

M.Tech Degree of a University or equivalent for Ph.D in Engineering /Technology in respective branch with 60% Aggregate Marks or CGPA not less than 6 on scale of 10

Master’s Degree of a University for PhD in Sciences / Humanities / Social Sciences / Management/Pharmacy in respective discipline or equivalent with 60% aggregate marks or CGPA not less than 6 on scale of 10

MCA Degree with 60% Aggregate Marks or equivalent CGPA and two years experience only for PhD in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology Depts

Consistently good academic record / performance with 1st division all through; i.e. 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of not less than 6 on a scale of 10 at undergraduate and post graduate level for students admitted after PG programs at (i) to (iii) above

Exam Pattern

i) Tests / Questions shall be different for each discipline of the program

ii) Duration: 120 Minutes

iii) Full Marks: 100

iv) Test will cover all the core / compulsory subjects in the relevant Master Level degree; wWritten test would aim at judging the depth of knowledge and potential to do research work

v) The syllabi for each program have been loaded on the website

Personal Interview shall be conducted only for the short listed candidates (Based on the merit drawn after written Test) except where candidate qualifies for the direct interview criteria

Seats

The tentative No. of seats are as below. However, the count may be varied, depending upon the qualification and performance of candidates and synchronization of the areas of research:

Biotechnology – 05 seats

CSE – 10 seats

iii. ECE – 08 seats

HSS – 05 seats

Mathematics – 05 seats

Management – 05 seats

vii. Physics / PMSE – 05 seats

Admission Procedure

Admission shall be based on:

i) Satisfying the requirements of minimum qualifications as specified above

ii) Performance in interview for those who have qualified in NET / SLET / UGC /CSIR (JRF) or equivalent national level examinations or are in receipt of fellowships like DST/DBT/DAE/CSIR/QIP/ICMR/DRDO/INSPIRE etc

iii) Performance in:

a) The PhD Entrance Test for all those who are not covered by B. (ii) and

(b) The subsequent interview, for short-listed candidates only, based on the written test and those of B (ii)

Institutional Fee: The fee shall be Rs.25000/- per semester

Research Fellowship: Financial Support will be provided to all full time PhD students in the form of Research Fellowship
