Eligibility
Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a recognised university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%)
Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA with basic degree are also eligible to register for M.Phil. in this category
Candidates who have qualified for Master’s Degree prior to 1990 - 1991, with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for M.Phil. programme


Duration of the Programme  One Year, Two Semesters


The M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree. It will have both research and course components and will give the student adequate background for advanced research.
Terms & Programme Content

Term 1:
Term one is of 8-month duration and includes:
• Research Methodology
• Core Paper (as an elective)
• Specialization Paper (Guide Paper)

Note:
The M.Phil. candidate is expected to secure approval of the Research topic from the Guide within one month of the start of the first term. Literature review should be completed within 4 months of the start of the first term. Synopsis should be completed within 6 months of the start of the first term.

Term 2:
Term Two will be for duration of 4 months, during which the candidates should complete their Dissertation. In addition, they must undertake courses in general skills related to the teaching-learning process such as:

Computer Application Skills
Communicative Skills
Pedagogical Skills and Practical Training in Teaching

Last Date for Receipt of Filled up Applications: 17 July 2015
Announcement of Candidates Eligible to write Entrance Test: 21 July 2015
Date of   Interaction Session (Optional) with Applicants  (At J C Road Campus 5 pm): 22 July 2015
Date of Entrance Test (11 am) for Eligible Candidates  (At J C Road Campus): 26 July 2015
Announcement of Entrance Test Results: 30 July 2015
Interviews for Candidates who have passed Entrance Test: 1 August 2015 & 2 August 2015
Announcement of Final Selection List: 4 August 2015
Last Date for Joining the Course  : 12 August 2015
Commencement of Course: 14 August 2015

The candidate should submit his / her application to the University, in the prescribed form with a DD of 1000/- INR in the favour of Jain University, payable at Bangalore, along with other necessary documents; viz., degree certificate, marks cards and such other documents prescribed along with receipt for having paid the prescribed fee. In case of employed candidates, no objection / deputation certificate from the employer, for pursuing research is necessary.

The candidate should submit two copies of a "Synopsis" along with his / her application
Eligible candidates will be required to take up M.Phil. Entrance examination comprising an Aptitude Test, a Subject Paper and an Interview
Reservations for SC, ST and other candidates shall be as per extant guidelines of the Government of India
Evaluation

Candidates shall be awarded pass in M.Phil. Programme upon:
Securing an aggregate of 50% marks in the term end exams, and a minimum of 40% marks in each subject
Securing an aggregate of 50% marks in the Dissertation and a minimum of 40% marks each in the Thesis and Viva
Award of pass grade in the Faculty Skills Development component
