Director (Operations) is a member of the Board of Directors and report to Chairman and Managing Director. He is responsible for planning & production, fabrication, outfitting, trials and delivery of ships under construction as per contractual schedules. He will be expected to work in close coordination with other Directors/Departments responsible for providing inputs/ designs/ materials required for timely construction of ships, besides overseeing Departments directly coming under his charge. He will be responsible for large industrial workforce involved with Ship production activities and will be required to ensure adherence to industrial Occupational Safety norms and statutory provisions. He is responsible for industrial relation & motivation of a productive workforce.
QUALIFICATION:
Applicant should be an Engineering graduate with good academic track record, preferably in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine or Naval Architecture discipline from a recognized university/ Institution.
AGE : 40
EXPERIENCE:
(i) Minimum 5 of last 10 years’ experience in Ship Building (production, Planning) / Design/ Repair Departments in PSU/ Private Shipyards.
OR
(ii) Minimum 5 of last 10 years’ experience in Ship Design/ Overseeing of ships Construction for Officers working in Navy.
OR
(iii) Minimum 5 of last 10 years’ experience in Ship repair/ maintenance for officers with Naval Headquarters (DFM) / Naval Dockyards/ NSRY experience
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
