Eligibility:
1. She / he should have been a student of BE / BTech programme of a recognized Institute / University and have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized board and have secured at least 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / Computer science / Biology / Biotechnology.
2. She / he should have appeared in the Entrance Test to be conducted by Thapar University. The cut-off marks in the Entrance test shall be 20% (15% for SC / ST).
3. She / he should be a citizen of India.
4. She / he should bear a good character and satisfy the prescribed requirements of the University.

Admission Procedure:
Admission shall be made on the merit of the Entrance Test to be conducted by Thapar University. The application form shall be filled online at www.thapar.edu. After filling the form, attach Demand Draft of Rs.2500/- (in favour of Thapar University payable at Patiala) with the print out of the application form.

The complete form along with DD, photocopies of AIEEE & 10+2 must be sent at following address: In charge, Admission Cell, Academic Section, Thapar University, Patiala-147004, Punjab (India).

Documents required at the time of Counselling: Candidates must bring with them following original certificates and a set of attested copies of all the certificates at the time of admission (Counselling).

Albertian Institute of Science and Technology follows the admission procedure laid down by Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements’ Association in tune with the decisions of the Hon. Supreme Court and High Court, in the matter.

This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Management subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities/courts of law.

CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.TECH. COURSES

Nationality:
Candidates must be Citizens of India.

Academic Requirements
i) Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least Fifty percent marks in Mathematics separately and Fifty percent marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade.
ii) Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted.
III) Relaxation permitted in this regard in the prospectus issued by Commissioner for Entrance Examination is applicable.

Age
Applicant should complete 17 years of age on 31st December 2011. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

Entrance Exam
Candidates should qualify in the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala or any other Entrance Exam approved by the competent authority.

HOW TO APPLY
The application form can be obtained from the College office on payment of Rs.300/‐ or downloaded from the website. If downloaded, a DD of Rs. 300/‐ in favour of the College payable at Ernakulam is to be submitted along with the filled application.

The duly filled in application along with self attested copies of necessary documents shall be submitted directly or by registered post with A/D to the College so as to reach there on or before 22‐09‐2011.

The application submitted to the College should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the Application in his/her own handwriting.

Self‐attested copies of Certificates/Documents of the following shall be submitted along with the application.
a) 10th /12th certificate in proof of the date of birth
b) Mark list of qualifying examination and entrance examination
c) Engineering entrance ranking from the Commissionarate for Entrance Examinations, Kerala State
d) Certificate of good conduct from the institution last attended issued within six months from the date of application
e) Pass Certificate and Migration Certificate
f) In case where the candidates claim any sort of reservation or special consideration, documents to prove such claims
g) Certificate from Parish Priest for consideration in the community merit

Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims made therein will be summarily rejected without further intimation.

ADMISSION
Admission will be based on the inter se merit of the candidates who apply. If sufficient number of candidates who have qualified in the CET conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is not available, candidates who have qualified in other eligible Entrance Examination will be considered.

For genuine reasons, management will have the right to deny admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible

Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly for updating the information regarding the admission.

The order of selection shall be as follows:
i) Open Merit
ii) SC/ST Merit
iii) Dalit Christians
iv) Other Christians
v) Latin Catholics

If sufficient number of candidates is not available in categories (ii) and (iii), the vacant seats will be reverted to category (i). Similarly, if sufficient number of candidates in category (iv) is not available, the same will be reverted to category (v).

Selected candidates shall take admission at the appointed time and the date in the College after paying the tuition fee and other fees to be paid, failing which the offer of admission will stand cancelled. The fee to be paid for admission, besides the tuition fee and the interest free refundable deposit:
i) Admission Fee Rs. 150.00
ii) Refundable Caution Deposit Rs. 10,000.00
iii) Special Fee Rs. 1,000.00
iv) All amounts payable to the university will be payable by the candidates extra.

Total tuition fee waiver/concession will be given to meritorious candidates. The table of scholarships is given below. There is also special scheme for community members. To be considered in this scheme one has to produce endorsement‐letter from the Parish Priest with details, besides the community certificate.

Last Date for receipt of application for the entrnace examination is extended upto 12th September 2011.

Eligibility:
A . For First Year /S1&S2 - who have passed class XII with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry/equivalent from CBSE,ISC, HSE, VHSE(Kerala), NIOS , any other equivalent board
B . Lateral Entry : Direct to Second year. Diploma with 60% marks in the final year and have passed LBS Entrance Rank certificate /equivalent under Govt. of Kerala.


Admissions 50% of the seats are controlled by the Government under Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) and remaining 50% seats including NRI quota are controlled by the management on the basis of merit.

Eligibile Candidates who have passed Higher- Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science / Biology put together are eligible for admission..
