Applications have been invited by Regional Cancer Centre [RCC], Trivandrum for admission to Post-M.Sc. Diploma in Radiological Physics (DipR.P.) Course of year 2015-16.


Duration of the Course:
Two years including one year mandatory internship in RCC in Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine.
The date of commencement of the course will be 1st June 2015 or as certified by the Director, RCC. Students will be provided a stipend of Rs.6000/-per month during the one year of internship.

Eligibility for admission:
Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:-
a) Nativity: Should be an Indian Citizen

b) Basic Academic Qualifications:
A pass in Full time M.Sc. Physics conducted by any of the UGC approved Universities in India with 60% marks in aggregate of the subjects. In case of Grade System, grade to percentage of marks conversion scheme obtained from University should be submitted along with the application.
Note: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for the M.Sc. Physics examination may apply but the provisional/ PG Degree certificate should be produced at the time of admission if selected, failing which admission will not be granted.

c) Age: as on 01-01-2015: General: 26 years
OBC: 29 years
SC/ST: 31 years

d) For physically challenged candidates, there is a relaxation of age by 10 years. Only candidates with physical disabilities limited to the lower extremities, are able to stand and move and are physically able to carry out the course requirements will be considered. Persons with visual and hearing disability and loco-motor disability involving upper limb are not eligible for admission.

Admission:
Admission will be made on the basis of an entrance test with objective type questions of 2 hours duration followed by an interview.
The entrance examination shall have multiple choice type questions for a total of 100 marks and they would cover subjects as detailed below:
M.Sc Level Physics - 60 marks
B.Sc. Subsidiary level Mathematics  20 marks
B.Sc. Subsidiary level Chemistry 10 marks
Basic Human Physiology and Anatomy 10 marks
Interview 20 marks
Entrance test will be conducted only if the number of eligible candidates is equal to or more than four times (16) the number of seats. Otherwise selection will be made based on marks scored in qualifying examination (MSc) and Interview.

(a) Candidates seeking admission to the course should do online registration and complete the application form provided in the Website: www.rcctvm.org.  The Prospectus and Annexures can be downloaded from the website.
(b)  procedure for Online submission:
The candidate has to visit www.rcctvm.org  where he/she can find the link Application for Post-M.Sc Dip RP 2015-16 for submitting his/her application.
Take a printout of the filled Application Form. Affix passport size photograph (attested by a Gazetted Officer) in the space provided. Enclose self-attested copies of all required supporting documents.
Duly completed application must be accompanied by a Demand Draft payable at State Bank of Travancore, Medical College Branch, Thiruvananthapuram or any of its service branches payable at Thiruvananthapuram for Rs.300/-drawn in favour of Director, Regional Cancer Centre.
The completed and signed application form with all the necessary enclosures should be sent to The Director, Regional Cancer Centre, Medical College Campus, Thiruvananthapuram  695011 by Registered/Speed Post only and should reach the Director, RCC, latest by 4.30 pm on 14/03/2015.

PB Diploma in Oncology Nursing Admission Notice 2014

The Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, (RCC) has invited applications for admission to the Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing (PBDON) course for the academic year 2014-15 (regular). Admission to the course is on the basis of merit as assessed in the Entrance Examination and interview conducted by RCC. The candidates under Service Quota should also appear for the selection process (Entrance Examination + Interview) and selection will be based on the merit in the respective category.

Eligibility for admission:
Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:
a. Should be an Indian citizen.
b. Should possess RN/RM registration from Kerala Nurses & Midwives council.
c. Academic qualification: Pass in B.Sc. Nursing OR General Nursing and Midwifery
d. Age limit: Upper age limit is 35 yrs as on 1st September 2014 for general merit candidates.
Relaxation of five years in upper age limit will be given to all SC/ST candidates and 10 years to service quota candidates.

Head And Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship 2014



The Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram (RCC), now in its 33rd year of service to the nation is an autonomous institution sponsored jointly by the Govt. of Kerala and the Govt. of India. It is an internationally acclaimed centre for cancer treatment and research and caters to the population of the state of Kerala and adjoining parts of Tamil Nadu. Handling over two lakhs patients including over 15,000 new cancer cases annually (30 lakhs patient visits in the last 15 years) RCC stands tall in the health map of Kerala carrying out innovative and pioneering work in cancer control, treatment, research and training.
RCC is a comprehensive cancer centre with full-fledged departments of Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Paediatric Oncology supported by allied services such as Pathology, Imageology, Nuclear Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, Laboratory services and Nursing services. The centre also has separate divisions for Community Oncology, Medical Records, Cancer Epidemiology, Cancer Research, Palliative Medicine, Dental Care, and Computerized Hospital Information System management. The information support for all these activities is provided by a well-organized Library & Information Services division.

SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
On a day about 150-200 patients are seen in the various surgical OPDs and there are 84 inpatient beds under the purview of the division. The division runs 6 major Operation Theatres and a minor Operation Theatre. On an average 25 major cases and 15 minor cases are operated on a day. All major cancer surgeries of the head and neck region, thorax, abdomen, breast, bone and sarcoma and gynecological malignancies are performed
by well experienced faculty of the division. The division maintains a state-of-the-art intensive care unit with all modern facilities and also runs an endoscopic suite that offers all endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic services.

THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
The Head and Neck Fellowship Programme was initiated in the year 2006 with an intent to train individuals to provide state of the art multidisciplinary care for patients with head and neck cancer, develop leaders in the field of head and neck oncologic surgery and provide a rigorous academic experience in which fellows can participate in clinical, translational and basic science research. Fellows completing the program will have finely honed skills in surgical diagnosis and treatment of tumors of the head and neck.
I. Applications are invited for admission to the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship course (ONE SEAT) for the academic year 2014.

II. Duration of the Course:
Duration of the Course shall be two years from the date of commencement of the course. The date of commencement of the course will be 01/08/2014 or date of commencement as certified by the Director, RCC for those admitted later. The course is a full time residential course. Students will be provided stipend as per the Institute’s norms.

III. Eligibility for admission:
Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:-
a) Nativity:
i. Should be an Indian Citizen
ii. Should have passed the MS from any of the Medical Colleges in India, recognized by the Medical Council of India or DNB from an institute in India, approved by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
b) Basic Academic Qualifications:
i. M.B.B.S. Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India
ii. Appropriate Post Graduate Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India or appropriate DNB of National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.

Appropriate Post Graduate qualification required for applying for the course will be
• MS/DNB ENT
• MS/DNB General Surgery
iii. Candidates should have their MBBS/PG Degrees registered permanently with Medical Council (India/State). Note: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for the MS/DNB examination may apply but the provisional or permanent PG Degree certificate should be produced at the time of admission if selected, failing which admission will not be granted.
c) Age: Upper age limit is 35 years, as on 30th April 2014. Age relaxation of five years is applicable to all SC/ST candidates and RCC in-service candidates.

IV. Fees:
The selected candidate has to deposit an amount of Rs. 10,000/- as caution deposit (refundable)

V. How to apply
Aspiring candidates are to download and fill the application form given along with this prospectus (Annexure I) and submit it along with the application fee. Completed application form should reach the Director’s Office on or before 5 pm on July 5th 2014. Incomplete application forms and forms received after the last date will be rejected and no further communication will be entertained in this context.

Application fee: -- Application fee for the course would be Rs 1000/- (Thousand rupees only). Fee should be submitted as a Demand Draft payable at State Bank of Travancore, Medical College Branch, Thiruvananthapuram or any of its service branches payable at Thiruvananthapuram for Rs.1000/- drawn in favor of “Director, Regional Cancer Centre”. Application Fee is not refundable under any circumstances.

VI. Selection process
a) The application forms will be scrutinized and the list of candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be displayed on the RCC website on 7th July 2014. No individual communication will be sent in this regard and the candidates need to appear for a screening test followed by an interview on 12th July 2014 at the Directors Conference Hall at RCC. Candidates will have to make their own arrangements to appear for the screening test and interview and no TA/DA will be provided.
b) The screening test will be a written test and candidates will be shortlisted for the interview to be held on the same day based on the marks obtained in the screening test. Final Rank list will be prepared based on the marks of screening test, interview and academic achievements (details of marks process given in ANNEXURE II).
c) The Director, Regional Cancer Centre will prepare and publish the Select List and Wait list of Candidates.
d) Admission Memo will be issued to the selected candidate. The candidate has to report on the date fixed by the Director. The candidate will have to remit the caution deposit and bond papers at the time of admission.
e) Candidates who do not turn up for the allotment as per schedule, at the place and time notified, will forfeit their chance for admission, and will not be considered for admission in future or arising vacancies, irrespective of the rank.
f) Candidates who discontinue the course after 10.00 am on 30th September2014 will be liable to pay Liquidated damages.
g) The Select List and Wait Lists published will be valid till 30th September 2014.
h) Any vacancy that may arise after the cut-off date for admissions will be considered as lapsed and no allotment will be made to these seats under any circumstance.

DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW:
a) Final MBBS Mark sheets.
b) MBBS Degree Certificate.
c) Internship Completion Certificate(CRRI).
d) MS/DNB Degree Certificate.
e) Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of MBBS and PG Degree. f) Proof of age. (Passport/ Secondary School Leaving certificate showing date of birth/ Tahsildar’s certificate).
g) Proof of Nationality (Passport/ Voters ID/ PAN Card/ Tahsildar’s certificate).
h) Character/conduct certificate issued by competent authority (head of institute/gazetted officer).
i) Certificate of Eligibility / Equivalency of the qualifying examination by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur in the case of candidates who have passed their Post Graduate
Degree courses from Universities outside Kerala.

All selected candidates should submit Registration Certificates from the Travancore-Cochin Council of Modern Medicine within one month of admission failing which their admission will be cancelled.
All original documents will be retained in RCC and will be returned only on successful completion of the course

VII. Liquidated damages & Execution of Bond:
Candidates selected for the fellowship have to execute a bond as given below in stamped paper (all pages of the bond should be in stamped paper and each paper to the value of Rs.200/-) at the time of joining the course to the effect that:
BOND CLAUSE: -- He/she shall not discontinue the fellowship after 10.00 am on 30th September 2014 and in case he/she decides to discontinue the course after 10.00 am on 30th September 2014 he/she shall give One Month Notice to The Director and pay an amount of One Lakh Rupees (1,00,000/-) as liquidated damages.

 VIII. Course Completion
Successful completion of the fellowship programme mandates the following:--
• Pass in the exit examination
• Log book
• Submission of Dissertation
• At least one publication during the period of the fellowship
• At least one paper / poster in National / International conference during the period of the
fellowship.

IX. Leave during the course:
The fellow shall acquire a minimum of 80% attendance each year for promotion to next year. He/she will have to complete the total duration of the course before being given the course completion certificate.
All the 365 days of the year are working days for fellows. However, they will be permitted to avail casual leave for 20 days, but not more than 10 days at a stretch. Any other leave will entail extension of the course. Those who take leave without prior sanction are liable to be considered to be on unauthorized absence. If the fellow is absent without authorization for more than 10 days, he / she will be terminated from the course and liquidated damages will be realized. All fellows are eligible for weekly off for one day. This will be allowed by the Head of the Department concerned without affecting the routine functioning of the Department. Weekly off cannot be accumulated.

CMEs, workshops and other academic programmes conducted by recognized academic bodies are essential aspects of training programme. All fellows will be permitted to attend such programmes without affecting the routine working of the Department concerned. The Heads of Departments shall sanction leave-on-duty to fellows provided they apply prior to the CME programme and the Head of Department is convinced about the genuineness of the programme and utility of the particular course. The fellows on returning from the programme should submit attendance certificate to the Head of the Department. No fellow shall leave the country without prior sanction of the Director, RCC. Any violation will be viewed seriously warranting termination of the course.

X. Private Practice
Fellows shall not engage in private practice of any sort during the course of study.

XI. General
All fellows admitted to RCC will be bound by the rules and regulations as decided by the Director, RCC from time to time.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Prospectus, the Director may at any time revise or amend any clause in the prospectus.

The jurisdiction for court cases/disputes shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts at Thiruvananthapuram.

Applications have been invited in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for admission to the three year M.Ch Surgical Oncology Course of Academic Year 2011 at Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram.


Eligibility for admission:
(a) Nativity:
Applicants should have satisfied the following conditions:
(i) Should be an Indian Citizen
(ii) Should have passed the MBBS and PG Degree (MD / MS) from any of the Medical Colleges in India, recognized by the Medical Council of India or DNB from an institute in India, approved by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.

(b) Basic Academic Qualifications:
(i) MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India
(ii) Appropriate Post Graduate qualification required for applying for the course will be MS / MD / DNB in General Surgery / ENT / Obstetrics and Gynecology / Orthopedics

(c) Age:
Upper age limit for General merit candidates would be 35 years, as on last date for submitting the application (16th May 2011). Age relaxation of five years is applicable to all SC / ST candidates and in-service candidates.

(d) Qualify in Entrance: All candidates should qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala by securing minimum of 50% marks.
