CONDITIONS FOR THE GRANT OF AWARD
(i) ICAR-SRF (PGS) will be awarded on the basis of merit in the All India Competitive Entrance Examination for ICAR-SRF (PGS) and admission to Ph. D. degree programme at State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Deemed Universities, viz. IARI (New Delhi) / IVRI (Izatnagar) / NDRI (Karnal) / CIFE (Mumbai) / AAU (Allahabad), Central Agricultural University (Imphal, Manipur), and Central Univerisities having faculty of agriculture, viz. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Viswa Bharti, and Nagaland University, herein-after referred to as the Agricultural Universities (AUs).

The fellowship will NOT be available for admission in any university other than the AUs as mentioned above. ICAR-SRF (PGS) is effective from the date of registering in the Ph.D. programme in any Agricultural University (SAUs, ICAR DUs, CAU or CUs having faculty of agriculture) or effective from the date ICAR-SRF (PGS) is awarded, whichever is later.

(ii) The fellowship will be admissible to persons of Indian Nationality as defined in the Constitution of India or persons domiciled in India.

(iii) The award of ICAR-SRF (PGS) can be availed within a period of one year from the date of issue of this award letter for seeking admission in Ph.D. programme in the qualifying subject at any Agricultural University (AU). It will not be extended in any case

(iv) If already registered as full time Ph.D. Scholar, he/she should not have completed two years on the date of examination.

(v) Duration of ICAR-SRF (PGS) will be three years and in no case it will be extended beyond the period of three years.

(vi) SRF will be awarded subject to verification of credentials by award administration authority, viz. the University/ Institute where the candidate gets admission.

(vii) No TA and DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the Examination at the Centres or for joining the University.

(viii) For admissions, eligibility conditions of the admitting University/ Institute will be applicable.

(ix) Fellowship would be granted only when the candidate gets eventually admitted and pursues Ph. D. degree from an Agricultural University (AU) other than the Agricultural University (AU) of completing M. Sc./ M.V.Sc./ M.E./ M.Tech. degree, except for ICAR - Deemed to be Universities.

(x) In case of in-service candidates, the awardee joins/has joined the University/Institute other than where he/she is working.

(xi) The awardee joins/has joined the University/Institute where Ph.D. programme consists of both course work and research.

VALUE AND TENURE OF FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship will be awarded to meritorious candidates seeking admission in the listed State Agricultural Universities, ICAR Deemed Universities, Central Universities having faculty of agriculture, Central Agricultural University or any other approved University/ Institute where Ph.D. Degree programme consists of course work with definite credit hours and research work/thesis. The fellowship will be at the following rates:

Postgraduate other than in Veterinary Science
Rs. 12000/- p.m. (fixed) for 1st & 2nd year. Rs. 14000/- p.m. (fixed) for 3rd year.

Postgraduate in Veterinary Science
Rs. 14000/- p.m. (fixed) for 1st & 2nd year. Rs. 15000/- p.m. (fixed) for 3rd year.

(Contingent grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year for procurement of essential chemicals, books, and travel connected with research work will also be paid to all the awardees).

ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates having completed their Master's Degree programme with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent OGPA from any recognized university in India and abroad would be eligible. For SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates, the minimum per cent of marks will be relaxed by 5 per cent or equivalent OGPA. The equivalence of OGPA to per cent marks, where needed, will be certified by the Registrar of the concerned University and must have to be produced by the candidates. Candidates appearing in the final semester would also be eligible provided they complete the Postgraduate degree in all respects by the date of examination and produce the degree-completion certificate from the Registrar to this effect. The candidates who have already joined Ph.D. and have completed more than two years as on the date of examination are not eligible to apply for Senior Research Fellowship. The above condition will also apply to in-service candidates. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check his/her eligibility for admission before applying. NAARM will not be held responsible for refusing ICAR-SRF(PGS) to any non-eligible candidates.

NOTE 2:
(i) Senior Research Fellowship is a financial assistance given by ICAR for pursuing Ph.D. programmes in the field of Agriculture and Allied sciences.

(ii) Merely qualifying the examination will not guarantee SRF. Only those candidates will be eligible for SRF who come in the merit list and join the University within stipulated time.

(iii) Candidates will have to take admission on their own and there will not be any responsibility of ICAR/NAARM in securing admission for the candidates.

(iv) In many courses, the Universities have diversified eligibility conditions. The candidate has to meet the prescribed eligibility conditions of the University where admission is sought.

(v) The in-service candidates qualifying for SRF will themselves arrange for study leave/leave of the kind due from their respective organizations themselves and that ICAR/NAARM will not intervene in this regard.

(vi) The in-service candidates will be those working in ICAR Institutes, SAUs, CAU, CUs having faculty of agriculture, Central Government/State Government Departments dealing in agriculture and allied sectors and Public Sector Undertakings dealing with agriculture and allied sectors.

The minimum and maximum age limit shall be 21 years and 30 years respectively for General Category. Relaxation in upper age limit of 5 years will be admissible to candidates from SC/ST and PH categories. For candidates belonging to OBC, relaxation in upper age limit for 3 years will be admissible.

For in-service candidates, the maximum age limit shall be 45 years in all cases. The crucial date for determining the minimum and maximum age limit for all categories will be the date of examination.

Candidates seeking age relaxation should submit an attested copy of the Caste Certificate issued by the prescribed authority of Government of India in the form given in the bulletin at Annexure - II (for SC/ ST) candidate and at Annexure III for OBC.
A Physically Handicapped (PH) and Visually Handicapped (VH) person seeking to apply for this examination should submit an attested copy of certificate about being handicapped from a Government Hospital/ Medical Board alongwith his/ her application form.

RESERVATION
15% of the total SRF are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 3% for PH candidates subject to their being otherwise suitable. The responsibility of verification of the genuineness of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificates will be of the concerned Agricultural University (AU) where the candidate has been granted admission.
If suitable candidates are not found for reserved seats for PH candidates, the same will be filled as per merit from general category. In case sufficient number of candidates of a category are not available to fill up the seats, the fellowships will not be awarded/transferred to another category.

(A) PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING
(i) The course and the sub-subject (with code) to which the admission is sought, must be quoted in all correspondence.
(ii) The Information placed in web contains the following.

(d) Identity verification form
(iii) A candidate can apply for ICAR-SRF for one Major Subject Group only. No change would be allowed thereafter.
(iv) The Application Form (filled neatly and correctly by the applicant as per the instructions) should be sent by Registered Post to The Controller of Examination, ICAR-SRF (PGS), National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad - 500 407.

Applications sent without the accompanying documents indicated above will not be considered.

CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED NOT TO FOLD THE FILLED-IN APPLICATION FORM. SUITABLE ENVELOPES MAY BE USED ACCORDINGLY. DOCUMENTS SENT ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION SHOULD NOT BE STAPLED TO THE APPLICATION FORM.

The Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (India) Invites applications for admission to the Correspondence Course of Diploma in Railway Engineering for the academic year 2009-10. The Course comprises of two semesters of 6 months each. Some of the salient features of the Diploma Course are given below :


Eligibility:
(a) Railway Personnel working as employees of Indian Railways including employees of Konkan Railway, Port Trust Railways, RITES, IRCON, CRIS, CONCOR, DMRC, RVNL, MVRC and other Railway PSUs : High School/SSC or equivalent qualification with maths or science and having a minimum of 3 years experience or having 3-years Diploma in any Engineering discipline recognised by Central/State or Union Territory Government or a Science/ Engineering Graduate or a Graduate having had Maths or Science as one of the subjects in Intermediate/Plus 2 of SSC.

(b) Non-Railway persons: The applicant should be a 3-years Diploma holder in any discipline of Engineering recognised by Central/State or UT Government or a Science/Engineering Graduate or a Graduate having had Maths or Science as one of the subjects in Intermediate/Plus 2 of S.S.C.

Recognition & Concessions:
The Ministry of Railways has recognised the Diploma Course and has granted the following concessions/benefits:

(i) For Railway Personnel: The Ministry of Railways has approved the Diploma Course as an additional qualification for promotion to all selection posts for Railway employees in Group C Category.

(ii)For Non-Railway persons: The Ministry of Railways accepts the Diploma as a desirable additional qualification for recruitment to various posts through Railway Recruitment Board in technical departments of the Railways.

Tution Fees

However, for the current batch the tuition fee is Rs 3, 50,000 per year (50% concession to sc/st/ph candidates) and us$ 18,500 per year for foreign national/nri/children of nri.

The Admit Cards will be sent BY POST to all the students, who submit filled-in Application Form complete in all respects (online or offline), in the first week of November 2009. Applicants, who do not receive their Admit Cards by 14th November 2009 can download the Admit Card from IIFT's website. You don't need to buy the CAT Bulletin from any bank, but a prospective candidate can buy a scratch-voucher from the designated bank branches, and, later registers online for CAT 2009.

Sale of vouchers starts on Wednesday, 9 September 2009 at designated bank branches and their associate outlets. The sale ends on Thursday, 1 October 2009.

Once you buy the scratch voucher, online registration for CAT 2009 will also begin on Wednesday, 9 September 2009 and end on Thursday, 1 October 2009. Instructions on access to online registration will be given in the voucher, and, detailed registration instructions will be on the CAT IIM website.

About JIPMER:
JIPMER was founded in 1823 by French Government, taken over by Government of India (GOI) in 1956 and upgraded to a Postgraduate Institution in 1964. An Act of Parliament in 2008 declared Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) as an Institution of National importance and defined its objectives and functions. By virtue of this Act No.19 of 2008, section 24, “Notwithstanding anything contained in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 the Dentist Act, 1948, the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, the Medical Degrees and Diplomas, Dental Degrees and Nursing Degrees granted by the Institute under this Act shall be recognized medical qualifications for the purposes of the Acts aforesaid and shall be deemed to be included in the Schedules to the respective Acts”. This entitles the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.

ELIGIBILITY FOR POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPCOURSE IN DIABETOLOGY
(1 YEAR DURATION)

1) Candidate must be a Resident Indian National
2) Age : Upper age limit of 35 years as on 1.1.2009 (not applicable to sponsored service candidates)
3) Candidate must possess a degree in M.D. from a University or DNB recognized as equivalent thereto by the MCI, in the respective discipline as mentioned hereunder:
M.D. (Medicine) from recognized University or DNB (Medicine) recognized as equivalent thereto, by MCI.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

The application form and the form for hall ticket for the afore mentioned courses can be downloaded from JIPMER Website: www.jipmer.edu.in Filled-in application and hall ticket forms with due signature, finger print and photograph, enclosing a M.I.C.R. Bank Draft for Rs.1000/- (One Thousand only) drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER” payable at Pondicherry, (UT) shall be posted to Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006. The last date for receipt of the completed application with the hall ticket form filled-in by the candidate is 12.9.2009 (Saturday) -- 5.00 pm. Application forms incomplete in any respect are liable to be rejected and will not be processed for issue of hall ticket.
The relevant page of the application for downloading from JIPMER website will function from 9.00 a.m. of 15.08.2009 to 4.00 p.m. of 12.09.2009.

Candidates can apply for only one course.
Candidates for all courses, including sponsored candidates, are required to appear for entrance examination.
No pre-printed applications either by postal request from Academic section or by cash from any Bank are available for these admissions notified above.
Applications submitted / received after the due date will not be considered, under any circumstances.
Applications without the bank draft will be rejected without any further correspondence.
Service candidates can send their advance copy with the bank draft. However they will not be permited for the interview if the application forwarded by the employer does not reach the Professor Academic before 22-09-2009 (date of the interview).
Hall tickets : Candidates are required to collect their Hall tickets for the entrance examination personally or through a letter of authority from the Academic section on 19.9.2009 from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The hall ticket will not be despatched by post. The venue of the entrance exam is Institute Block, JIPMER.

METHOD OF SELECTION :
Selection for D.M. Courses are made through a 2-Stage performance evaluation
Stage I (400 marks) : Written Test with question paper consisting of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ). Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks. For each wrong answer one mark will be deducted. If more than one answer is marked , it will be treated as wrong answer and given negative marks.
• For DM (Neonatology) : MCQs will be distributed as 40 in General Pediatrics and 60 in Neonatology.
• For DM (Neurology) : MCQs will be distributed as 20 in General Medicine, 20 in General Pediatrics and 60 in Neurology.
• For DM (Clinical Immunology) : MCQs will be distributed as 20 in General Medicine, 20 in General Pediatrics and 60 in Immunology.
• For DM (Clinical Pharmacology) : MCQs will be 20 in General Medicine, 20 in General Pediatrics and 60 in Pharmacology.
• For Fellowship in Diabetology : MCQs will be 40 in General Medicine and 60 in Diabetology.
Stage II (80 marks) : Out of the candidates who secure 50% of marks or above in the Written test (Stage I), Candidates 5 times the number of seats advertised will be called for interview assessment by the Selection Committee, duly constituted for the purpose, on the next working day.
• No individual intimation will be sent regarding result of Stage I. It will be displayed on the Notice Board of Academic Section / JIPMER Website.
• Candidates who fail to attend any of the 2 Stages mentioned above or secure less than 50% of marks in either stage will not be eligible for admission.
