Eligibility for Admission

1. Minimum qualification:

Must have passed Higher Secondary Course (+2) or its equivalent and secured not less than 50% marks (40% for SC / MBC / OBC / BCM / EBC / BT) in Part-III subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology (Male & female candidates are eligible for the courses).

2. Nationality:

A candidate seeking admission should be an Indian National. However, French Nationals residing in the Puducherry UT and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with Indian Nationals for the purpose of admission.

3. Age Limit:

The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31-12-2013. The upper age limit for admission shall be 35 years as on 31-12-2013.

4. Puducherry UT Candidates:

Candidates who are residents of Puducherry UT are only eligible for admission to the Courses. A candidate is considered to be Puducherry Resident (Puducherry UT Candidate) provided he/she is an Indian National and satisfies at least one of the following criteria.

a) Those candidates or whose parents have been residing continuously in the Puducherry UT at least for 5 years as on first of June 2013.

b) Those who have passed HSC or any other public examination and for that purpose had undergone academic studies immediately preceding the qualifying examination (including the year of the qualifying examination) in recognized educational institution(s) located in Puducherry UT and having resided in Puducherry UT for 5 years continuously during that period.

c) Children of Defence Personnel who were killed or disabled in action and children of Central Government Servants/ Puducherry UT Government Servants / Defence Personnel / Employees of Public Sector undertakings who died while in service in Puducherry UT.

d) French Nationals residing in Puducherry UT and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with the candidates who produce the prescribed Puducherry UT residence certificate. Such French Nationals will not be required to produce residence certificate, instead they should produce a certificate of registration issued for this purpose from the French Consulate at Puducherry.

Eligibility for admission:

I. For optional subjects:

i) B. A/B. Sc/M.Com Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto under 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 50% marks in Part III or Masters Degree in the same subject with minimum 50% marks.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B.Ed.) PROGRAMME

The B Ed. Programme offered by IGNOU is an innovative programme utilizing sell instructional materials and information technology along with Interactive personal contact programmes The progranrne is essentially a Judies mix of theoretical and practical courses to develop in practicing teacher's appropriate knowledge, understanding attitudes.

The B.Ed Programme of IGNOU is recognized by Ihe NCTE wode Letter No F3iOL-83i997807-7812 dated 31.05.1999 and is offered h NCTE approved Training Colleges in the country

The admission to this programme is on the basis of an Entrance Test to be conducted on Sunday the 8^th September 2013 al over the country

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

1 A Bachelor's degree or a higher degree with fifty (50%) percent marts from a recognized University. However, teachers appointed prior to the commencement of NCTE Regulation . Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation dated 30.32010 the requirement of 50% marks she! not apply.

2 Serving teachers with two years (2 years) teaching experience In a Governmental or Government Recognized School.

3 The reservation  for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/ State Government whichever is applicable There shal relation of 5% marks for them

Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination (Bachelor/ higher degree) and the results are a waited can also apply.

Walk in Admission (for Management Programme Only)

Candidates who qualify entrance lest can submit their registration form (Form-2). Available in the Student Handbook & Prospectus' along with the hall ticket of the entrance test to the respective Regions Centres along with the reqested fee on any cay after the receipt of result card, for admission cycle staring from Jan. 2014.

NOTE : Provision for on line registration for admission to the successful candidates for Management Programme will be made available on the university website (www.ignou.ac.in) after the declaration of the entrance test result.

'Student Handbook & Prospectus for Management Programme' B.Ed Programme' M.Ed Programme /B.Sc Nursing (Post Base) Programme - 2014'. can be obtained from the Registrar (SRD). IGNOU. Maidan Garhi. New Delhi-110068 and from all the Regional Centres of IGNOU by sending a sum of Rs 1050/- each through a DD/IPO  in favour of  IGNOU payable at New Delhi in cash at the respective sales counters your name and address on the back of DD/IPO

Last date for receipt of request for 'PROSPECTUS" by post is 31^st July, 2013.
