MBA ADMISSION 2010-2012

ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.


Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30, 2010. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31, 2010. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.

 

Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weight age in terms of the organization, position held and duration.

 

Selection:-The closing date for submitting completed application forms is March 22, 2010. By third week of March 2010, candidates who are short-listed based on their CAT scores will be called for a Personal Interview. Interviews will be held at Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The interview dates would be from 18th to 21st April 2010. The names of the short listed candidates for interviews will be posted on www.amrita.edu/asb. Short listed candidates will also be intimated of their dates and venue based on the choice of interview location that they give in the application form. After the Personal Interview, the candidates will be intimated of their final selection. Selected students will be expected to pay the first installment of fees within fifteen days from the date of intimation of their final selection.

 

Through GMAT, a maximum of 15% seats are available for NRI and/or foreign candidates. A minimum GMAT score of 550 is necessary for consideration for interview.

 

Admission Test:-All candidates seeking admission to Amrita's MBA Programs should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in November 2009. NRIs and Foreign Nationals are required to take the GMAT test.

Batch Size: - The number of seats available for the fully residential two year MBA programme starting on June 2010 is 300. (120 seats in Coimbatore and 60 seat each in Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi).

ELIGIBILITY:
Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the following relevant eligibility requirements for admission to MBBS course will be considered eligible to appear for the UGET (BLDEU-UGET-2010) and subsequently for admission to the course.
1.      The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2010.
2.      Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination.
3.      The last two years of study should have comprised of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) subjects with English as a compulsory subject. The candidates must have passed these subjects individually.
4.      As per the requisitions of statutory bodies as laid out in the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education-1997 of Medical Council of India and the amendments there of, the minimum percentage of marks for Admission to Under Graduate Courses shall be 50% for candidates belonging to General Category, 45% for candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs ( as certified by competent issuing authority) and 40 percent for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward classes (as declared by the Government of Karnataka from time to time)
5.      Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e. PUC-II/ 10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be BLDEU-UGET-2010 considered to appear for BLDEU–UGET-2010, provided they have appeared for above mentioned subjects at the said examination.
6.      Foreign/PIO/NRI students need not appear for BLDEU-UGET-2010. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.
If the candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above he/she will not be considered eligible for admission for M.B.B.S Degree even if he/she is placed in the merit list of BLDEU-UGET-2010. The candidates are advised not to submit their application forms for appearing for BLDEU-UGET 2010, if they do not fulfill any or all of the relevant eligibility requirements. Rank list / Rank Card / Counseling Letter will be prepared only for those students who become eligible to M.B.B.S. Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India.
Note:
Change of category status like SC, ST, Karnataka OBC, or locomotor disability will not be entertained during the process. As such students are cautioned to declare their status while filling the application.
If the candidate is unable to satisfy the requirements for status of SC, ST or Karnataka OBC or locomotor disability he/she will be considered under general category.
Application forms can be downloaded from our website. Data entry is to be made by the candidate before generating the application form. Application cannot be submitted online.
Instructions to candidates for filling the application form.
a.      Ensure that
i)        The Demand Draft/at par cheque for Rs.1, 500/- is drawn in favour of "The Registrar, BLDE University"
ii)       Ensure that the D.D is payable at Bijapur, Karnataka State.
Please note that this fees is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected for any reason of incompletion by the candidate or if the candidate does not appear for the Entrance Test.
Data Entry to generate the application form has to be made properly and completely. This data forms record.
The completed application form must have the signature of the candidate, left thumb impression, signature of candidate's parent/guardian and Authentication by a Gazetted officer or Head of the Institution, where, the candidate has studied last.
Do not send any ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS along with the application form.
1. Affix your recent (not older than six months) colour photographs in the space provided.
 
2.      Photographs should be of passport size, sharp and clear. 3. Person should not wear Goggle, Cap etc which would mask identity. Application with smudged / tampered or hazy photograph will be rejected. Do not staple or pin the photograph on the application form. Do not sign and no attestation is required on the photograph.
Incomplete / incorrect applications are liable to be rejected without prior notice to the candidate.
Any application received after the last date shall not be accepted. No intimation shall be sent in this regard.

NOTIFICATION MHT-CET-2010

 

Govt of Maharashtra shall conduct a single Combined "Common Entrance Test" MHT-CET-2010 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2010-2011. The Entrance Test will be held on Thursday, 6th May 2010. Govt of Maharashtra has appointed Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai as "The Competent Authority for the MHT-CET-2010". The merit list of the above said examination will be utilized for admission in:

1.      Govt / Municipal Corp / Govt Aided Colleges of Health Sciences degree courses.

2.      Govt / Govt Aided/University Managed Colleges / University Departments / Autonomous Colleges including ICT, Mumbai and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET-2010) of Engineering & Pharmacy degree courses

3.      BVSc and AH degree course.

For selection process there will be separate Competent Authorities. For selection to Health Science degree courses, The Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai is the Competent Authority. For selection to Engineering and Pharmacy Degree Courses, The Director, Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai will be the Competent Authority. The Authority for selection to BVSc & AH degree course is The Registrar, Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University, Nagpur.
 
Eligibility: The qualifying Examination for appearing at MHT-CET-2010 is HSC (12th Std) or equivalent examination with the conditions for eligibility as defined in the respective brochure(s). Maharashtra State candidates appearing for HSC (12th Std) or equivalent examination or who have passed their qualifying examination earlier ie 2009 or before and desire to appear for the MHT- CET 2010 will receive their application form from their respective Jr College / School ( from where they have passed / appearing qualifying examination).

 

Important note only for Health Science Degree Courses

 

1.      Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates are permitted to appear for the MHT-CET
2010 in order to become eligible for admission to first year of:

Four year full time Degree courses in Engineering/Technology in *Unaided Private Institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2010.
Four year full time Degree course in Pharmacy in Unaided Private Institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2010.

Note:

i) *Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2010 and seeking admission to Engineering Degree courses shall be considered eligible for admission against the institute level seats only in Unaided Private Colleges.

ii) Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2010 and seeking admission to Pharmacy Degree course shall be considered eligible for admission to 15% CAP Seats during the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds I & II. Such candidates can also apply for admission against the institute level seats in Unaided Private Colleges.

 

2. Following type   of candidates   are   exempted from   appearing for MHT-CET-2010
examination for admission to Engineering/Technology courses:

Foreign National / Foreign student/Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/ Children of NRI

Government of India Nominees
Jammu & Kashmir migrant candidates

3. Following type of candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET-2010 examination for admission to Pharmacy course:

Foreign National/Foreign student/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/Children of NRI.

GOI Nominees and Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates are exempted from appearing for the MHT-CET-2010 conducted by the Competent Authority of Govt. of Maharashtra, subject to the approval from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, for filling of the seats over & above the sanctioned intake. However, if the approval is not received before 30/6/2010, these candidates will be treated at par with OMS candidates and hence they are advised to appear for MHT-CET-2010.

4. Candidates who are eligible to apply against the provision of Jammu & Kashmir Migrant

Candidate as well as the Maharashtra State candidate are entitled to claim only one type of seat i.e. either Maharashtra State seat or J & K Migrant seat for admission to Engineering/ Technology/Pharmacy Degree Courses. Further if the candidate opts for Maharashtra State candidature then he/she has to appear for the MHT-CET 2010.

5. Separate notifications for the following types of candidates regarding the schedule of

Admission process will be issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, in the month of May/June 2010.

AIEEE qualified candidates seeking admission to Engineering/Technology Degree courses in Unaided Institutes who have given consent to participate in CAP.
Foreign National/Foreign student/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries /Children of NRI.
J & K Migrant Candidates


How To Apply: All the three brochures (Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy) are available on the websites of DMER (www.dmer.org) and DTE (www.dte.org.in). Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria as per the respective MHT-CET-2010 brochures, before purchasing the application form.

 

The cost of the Application Form along with the three information brochures of MHT-CET-2010 and Examination fee is Rs 700/- for open category and all Outside Maharashtra candidates and Rs 500/- for reserve category candidates (belonging to Maharashtra State Only). This amount is not refundable.

The candidates from Outside Maharashtra (OMS) can purchase application form and Information brochure(s) of MHT-CET 2010 from any Divisional Authority office as mentioned in Annexure-A by submitting Demand Draft of Rs 700/- drawn in favor of "Competent Authority, MH-CET, Mumbai" payable at Mumbai, drawn on any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

All candidates who for any reason whatsoever are not able to receive Application Forms through the School/ Jr College should collect it from office of Divisional Authority of his/her area (by giving a Demand draft as detailed above), but he/she has to submit it through his/her School/Junior College (college where he/she studied 12th Std).

For Candidates who have passed HSC or Equivalent exam from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), the place of submission of Application Form, collection of Receipt cum Identity card and Admit Card shall be as given in the following table.

Group A: MBBS, BSc Nursing, BOT, BPT, BSc MLT, 

Eligibility: +2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology,
Age: Born on or before 31.12.1993
A candidate for admission to medical course "must have 60%@ marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English".(@ 60% in each and 130/200 aggregate for BC, 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC, and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates). (BC, MBC, SC/ST as defined by the TN Govt; all rules subject to change as per State & University guidelines) Example: If a candidate has 72% in Biology, 66% in Chemistry and 70% in Physics, then the aggregate works out to: {72 + (66 +70)/2} or {72 + 68} out of 200, ie 140/200 and is eligible. However, a candidate with 68 in Biology, 72 in Chemistry and 70 in Physics will have only {68+ (72+70)/2} on 200 or {68+71} on 200 ie 139/200 and is not eligible.

 

Group B: Diploma in Nursing
Eligibility: +2 with 40% aggregate marks

Age: Born between 30.09.1988 and 30.09.1993 (age relaxed upto 35 years for those have completed ANM/MPHW training)

Diploma courses in Allied Health Science

Anaesthesia Tech, Hand and Leprosy Physiotherapy, Optometry, Critical care Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Hearing, Language and Speech, Radiodiagnosis*, Radiotherapy*

Eligibility: +2 with science subjects
Age: *Born on or before 15.07.1993

Post Diploma: Hospital Equipment, Maintenance, Hospital Pharmacy, Practice

Courses after graduation

PG Diploma: Nuclear medicine, Histopathology Lab Tech., Medical Microbiology, Medical Virology, Dialysis Therapy, Cardiac Technology, Neuro-electro-physiology, Perfusion Technology, Advanced Resp Therapy, Cytogenetics, Applied Molecular Genetics Methods, Assisted Reproductive Technology, Health Management, Hospital Administration, Health Economics, Policy and Financial Management, Clinical Pastoral Counseling, Clinical Pharmacy, Dietetics

Degree: BMRSc

PG Degree: MSc in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Epidemiology and Biostatistics

Diploma course after post graduation: Fellowship in Hospital Administration

Age limit for all group B courses: between 17 and 45 years wherever not specifically mentioned.
 
How To Apply:
Application and prospectus are also available at the office of the Registrar on payment of Rs 750/- from 10.03.2010 (I) payable as a chalan at any branch of the ICICI bank in India, mention FC-CMC-V on the chalan (or) demand draft in favour of CMC Vellore association on any scheduled bank, payable at Vellore

Send the demand draft or original chalan with a letter requesting for the prospectus and application 2010 to the office of the Registrar, CMC, Thorapadi PO, Vellore-632002, Tel 0416-2284225 state your full postal address with pin-code. Mention your telephone number and email address if available. No additional money, stamps or envelopes are required

Registration Fee: The following registration fees must be enclosed with the completed application form.

Group A courses:
MBBS, BSc (Nursing), BPT, BOT, BSc-MLT and BSc Optometry – Rs 500 per course

Group B courses:
MSc, BMRSc, PGDCPC, Dip Nursing and other Group B courses – Rs 100 per course
