School of Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Raibareli Road, Lucknow, UP-226014, a National Resource Center for Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics under Dept. of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & IT, Govt. of India, has invited application for admission to the one year Diploma Course in (i) Telemedicine (ii) Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) (iii) Public Health Informatics (iv) Digital Medical Library (v) Nursing Informatics.
For Diploma Course in Telemedicine and in Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) applicant should have MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/BHS/ BCA / BSc. / BSc. (IT)/ Diploma (Engg -Electronics, Instrumentation, Communication, IT, Computer Science from a Polytechnic), B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technician), B.Sc. in Nursing or it’s equivalent.
For Diploma in Public Health Informatics, applicant should have MBBS/BDS/Master’s in Hospital Administration/Masters in Public Health.
For Digital Medical Library Diploma, applicant should be Science Graduate with Bachelor in Library Science or Bachelor in Library & Information Science. Mid-career professionals are preferred for these 4 courses. For Diploma in Nursing Informatics, eligibility is Diploma/Bachelor Degree or above in Nursing, from recognized institution.
Maximum permissible age is 30 years with relaxation as per Govt. rules. There is no age limit for sponsored candidates. There are 10 seats in each stream with two additional Sponsored seats. Course Fee is Rs. 20,000/-.

Selection of candidates will be based on the All India Entrance Examination Test based on MCQ Pattern to be held on 25th July, 2009 at SGPGI Campus, Lucknow. There will be no entrance test for Sponsored Candidates. Reservations will be as per U.P. Govt. rules.
List of eligible & selected candidates will be displayed on Institute’s website. Application has to be submitted online at http://www.stbmi.ac.in/. Application can also be downloaded from the website. Filled application along with a Demand Draft of Rs.300/- towards Examination Fee, drawn in favor of School of Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics, payable at Lucknow should reach ‘The Course Coordinator, School of Telemedicine & Biomedical Informatics, SGPGIMS, Raibareli Road, Lucknow, UP -226014’, by Registered/Speed Post latest by 20th July, 2009.
Sponsored Candidates may submit advance copy of the application.
Their applications through proper Channel should reach before 25th July 2009.
