M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Technology

Applications are invited for admission into M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Technology subject to fulfillment of the criteria as below:

Intake: 18

Four numbers of seats shall be available under self-financed scheme with a fee structure of an additional Rs. 25,000 per semester. Students willing to offer candidature under this category should apply separately to the HoD, ECT in addition to the form submitted.

Educational Qualifications:

Minimum CPI of 5 or 50% in BE / BTech/MSc.

Preference will be given as follows:

BE/ BTech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
BE/ BTech in Instrumentation Engineering
BE/ BTech in Electrical Engineering
MSc in Electronics Science/ Electronics

Candidates with a valid GATE score / JRF/ NET qualification

Categories:

1. REGULAR (FULL-TIME)- The duration will be 2-years.

2. PART-TIME:

Candidates who are local (from areas in and around Guwahati) and professionally employed in an academic institution / R& D organization / govt / PSU establishment / industry or reputed national or international industry / organization related to the field of study with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. A No Objection certificate from the Head of the Institution / Organization in which he / she is employed must be enclosed at the time of application as per format. Duration shall be governed by the relevant clause mentioned in the Ordinance and Regulation of the programme

Application form and detailed prospectus can be downloaded from the Gauhati University website www.gauhati.ac.in.  Filled-up applications must be submitted to the HoD, Electronics and Communication Technology along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- payable at Guwahati drawn in favour of IST-GU. An examination fee of Rs. 200/- in cash will have to be deposited at the time of submission of application.

 

Last date of submission of application is 10-11-09.

Mode of selection: Written test followed by interview. The written test will be of subjective / objective type based upon the GATE 2010 ECE syllabus.

Date of selection test 14-11-09 at 12 noon at IST-GU.

Duration of the examination two hours. No separate call letters shall be issued. Names of short-listed candidates for the selection test will be available in the GU website by 12-11-09.

Names of successful candidates will be made available on 20-11-09.

Date of admission / registration: 24-11-09.
