Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Admissions 2010

 

Applications have been invited by Indian Institute of Technology, Indore for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme starting from January 2011 in the following disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences:  1. Chemistry ,  2. Mathematics , 3. Physics ,  4. Computer Science and Engineering , 5. Electrical Engineering ,  6. Mechanical Engineering ,  7. Economics ,  8. Philosophy

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Admission:

Ph.D. in Engineering: For admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Engineering Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1. Masters degree in the relevant branch of Engineering with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2. B. Tech. degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.

Ph.D. in Sciences: For admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Science Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1. Masters degree in a Science subject with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2. Masters degree in Engineering/ Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
3. B.Tech. from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.

Ph.D. in Economics and Philosophy: For admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Economics and Philosophy, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1. Masters degree in Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. Masters degree in Science/Engineering/Agriculture/Environment Sciences/ International Business with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks may be considered for research areas consistent with the academic background and special interests.
2. B.Tech. from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.

Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ ST applicants.

Last Date for the submission of completed Application Forms at IIT Indore is 31-10-2010.
