Applications have been invited by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry for admission to the following courses of Session August 2011.

BSc Nursing
BSc Medical Lab Technology (MLT)
BSc Allied Medical Sciences
(BSc Dialysis Technology
BSc Medical Radiation Technology
BSc Operation Theatre Technology
BSc Perfusion Technology
BSc Neuro Technology)

Eligibility Criteria (Educational):
(i) The Applicant should be a Resident Indian National (not applicable to nominated candidates).
(ii) The Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years (except for those admitted against the seats reserved for foreign students nominated by the Government of India).
(iii) He / She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2011, the year of his/her admission to the BSc course.
(This criterion is applicable also to candidates nominated by the Government of India. Request for relaxation from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants).
(iv) The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:

(a) The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany and Zoology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of 10+2+3 or Higher Secondary Examination (+2) Vocational Stream with Medical Laboratory Assistant or any equivalent examination.

(b) The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Botany & Zoology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology at the qualifying examination. For OBC / Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination will be 40%.

Prospectus and Application forms are available on direct cash payment only from State Bank of India, JIPMER Branch, Pondicherry or through a postal request to the Professor(Academic), JIPMER with a DD drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, JIPMER payable at Pondicherry. Format of the application can also be downloaded from the website www.jipmer.edu.in .

Cost of the Application:
If applying for one course:
Rs. 200 for Unreserved / OBC candidate (Plus Rs. 50/- towards cost of Model Question Paper)
Rs. 150 for SC / ST candidate (Plus Rs. 50/- towards cost of Model Question Paper)
If applying for two courses:
Rs. 250 for Unreserved / OBC candidate (Plus Rs. 50/- towards cost of Model Question Paper)
Rs. 200 for SC / ST candidate (Plus Rs. 50/- towards cost of Model Question Paper)

Filled in application with three identical photographs affixed in application and Hall Ticket, three self addressed slips along with the prescribed fees in the form of a single D.D. drawn in favour of 'Accounts Officer, JIPMER', should be sent to the Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605006
