FOUNDATION COURSE ON EDUCATION OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITES -ONLINE
Why Foundation Course on Education of Children with Special Needs Online:
Learners who cannot attend classroom training programs due to long hours spent on journey to attend classroom training programmes.
Class room training programme are convened on fixed days which may not be suitable to the Learners due to his/her preoccupation.
Learners from far off places or even from rural areas can take advantageous of e-learning training on Special Education where classroom training is not available at all.
Learners may replay it as many times as he desires to understand the subject which is not possible in classroom programmes.
What is required for e-learning on special education is a computer and the internet connectivity which is easily available now even in rural areas.
Duration
The programme will be of 3 months (90 days) duration; includes 12 Days of Skill Training Programme (STP) comprising of 84 hours at a stretch. After successful completion of the following pre-requisite conditions you will be eligible to appear in the Term End Theory Examination:
a) Successful completion of stipulated login hours of study online i.e. 18 hours study of theory available on the e-module, elearnrci.com.
b) 100% Attendance in a Skill Training Programme (STP).
c) Submission of practical records as per the framework of Skill Training Programme at the Skill Training Centre.
d) Pass in the assignments submitted online as prescribed by the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the e-module (elearnrci.com).
Successful learner is eligible to get the Certificate. Each learner will get a maximum of three chances to clear the examination. If even after three chances a learner cannot clear the course then he/she will have to enrol afresh.
Process of Admission (How to register)
Registration for online mode of study is open for the interested learners round the year.
Aspirants can enrol their desired course during its enrolment period which can be found in the online site after logging in.
Follow the below mentioned steps to apply for RCI’s online mode courses:
Step 1.
Register yourself online to get your own Login ID and Password
a) Visit http://www.rehabcouncil.nic.in and on home page, click on the ‘eLearning at RCI’ link

You can visit www.eLearnRCI.com
b) Click on ‘Registration’ in left menu
c) Fill all the fields including the Login id and Password of your preference on the
application form and click on ‘Register’ button
d) You will get a confirmation message and an email. Now you can login with your
new Login ID and Password at any time. Remember your Login ID and
Password.
e) The same Login ID and Password can be used for applying any number of RCI’s
online courses.
Step 2.
Upload all the required documents
a) Keep ready all the scanned copies of the required documents like qualification,
employer certificates etc., as mentioned in the “Document uploads” column.
b) Login into the RCI’s elearning site at www.eLearnRCI.com with the created Login
ID and Password. (Login button is available on the top menu).
c) Click on the ‘Upload Documents’ menu item.
d) Browse for the zipped file of all your documents or individual documents and click on upload.
Step 3.
Enrol yourself online, into a course
a) Keep ready the details of fee payment made either through Demand Draft to RCI
or by NEFT transfer.
b) Click on ‘My Courses’ in the left menu.
c) Click on ‘Enrol Course’ to see all RCI’s online courses.
d) Click on ‘Foundation course on Education of Children with Disabilities’ to see
details of that course
e) You will see a status message about the class start date, available seats etc.
f) Click on ‘Enrol Now’ button
g) Select mode of payment like NEFT/Demand Draft and enter those details.
h) You will receive an email confirmation and upon validation of your payment and
documents, you will be enrolled into the course
i) To check up your status click on ‘My Progress’ in left menu.
Step 4.
Send the Demand Draft to RCI, Delhi
a) If fee is paid through Demand Draft then the same should be sent by writing all
the required information as mentioned in “Fee Payment” column to:
Head, Distance Education Cell,
Rehabilitation Council of India,
B-22, Qutub Institutional Area, New Delhi – 110016.
Note:
Learners must upload all the scanned documents like qualification, employer certificates etc., as mentioned in the “enclosures with the application form” column at the time of applying online.
Medium of Instruction
In the first phase the FCED Online programme will be offered in English Medium. Subsequently the programme will be offered in regional languages.
Eligibility
1) All in-service teachers working at any level would be eligible to take admission to the Course.
2) Any special educator for acquiring additional CRE Points.
3) Individual who want to understand the disability issues.
Programme Fee
The fee for the e-learning programme is rs 2,000/- per learner payable at the time of Registration including examination fee through Debit Card/RTGS/NEFT/Demand Draft in favour of “Member Secretary”, Rehabilitation Council of India” payable at New Delhi.
