CPL training 2013-2014
The
Indira Gandhi Rash-triya Uran Akademi, Rae Bareli, of the Union government has
incited applications for admission to the 18-month Commercial Pilot Licence
(CPL) training course starting in March. There are 75 seats — 11 reserved for
those belonging to the Scheduled Castes, six for applicants from the Scheduled
Tribes and 21 for Other Backward Classes.
Those
who have passed Plus Two with at least 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for the
reserved categories) in aggregate in Mathematics and Physics may apply. Applicants should have completed the age of 17 at the time of joining the course.
Selection
is through a written test, an interview and a pilot aptitude battery and
psychometric tests. The written test will be held in Hyderabad, DelhirMumbai; Rae
Bareli and Kolkata on November 17. The test will be of the Plus Two level, with
objective-type questions from General English, Mathematics, Physics, reasoning
and current affairs.
The
result will be published on November 28. Interview will start on December 16
and its result will be announced on December 28. The pilot aptitude battery
and psychometric tests will start on January 21. The final rank list will be published on January 30.
The
application fee of Rs. 6,000 should be paid through a demand draft drawn in
favour of the Akademi, payable in Rae Bareli. Those belonging to the Scheduled
Castes and the Scheduled Tribes need not pay the fee.

The form
should
be filled in capital letters. Send it, along with the fee and other documents,
to the Director, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Fursatgenj Airfield, Rae
Bareli, Uttar Pradesh - 229 302 so as
to reach there on or before October 15. Admit cards will be sent
by October 30.
The
fee of Rs. 32,5 lakh, plus taxes at 12.36 per cent, should be paid in four quarterly
instalments.
Another
Rs. 1 lakh should be paid towards the cost of uniform, study materials, a
navigation computer, headphones and examination and licence fees of the Director
General of Civil Aviation. Mess and hostel fees come to about Rs. 8,000 a
month. Students can exercise their option for the B.Sc. Aviation course.
