VELS university, Chennai has invited applications for admission to the following courses for the Academic Year 2013-14.

1. Presea Training for Graduates (GME) - One Year

2. Presea Training for Diploma Holder (DME) - Two Year

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

Academic requirement for admission to GME is a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture degree with minimum 50% marks in Final year. The candidate should have obtained atleast 50% in English at 10th or 12th std. or degree course.

Candidates with a Diploma in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Naval Architecture / Electrical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in Final year are eligible to apply for DME and they should have obtained at least 50% in English at 10th or 12th std. or Diploma course

Generally, Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with minimum unaided vision 6/12 in each eye, and with no colour blindness.

Application form and Prospectus can be obtained in any of the following manner:

1. Through Designated Axis Bank Branches on payment of cash Rs.350/- towards application form and prospectus.

The filled in application form to be sent along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 350/- favouring 'Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai.

3. Applying Online through link: http://www.velsuniv.org/Admission-login.asp

Payments can be made using any Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking.

4. Request to Registrar, Vels University, Velan Nagar, P.V.Vaithiyalingam Road, Pallavaram, Chennai - 600117, Tamil Nadu, for Application Forms by post by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with a DD for Rs. 350/- favouring "Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai.

5. Purchase of Application Form and Prospectus in person from Office of Registrar, Vels University, Velan Nagar, P.V.Vaithiyalingam Road, Pallavaram, Chennai - 600117, Tamil Nadu by remitting cash of Rs.350/- .

All the applications duly filled in along with Registration Fee should be sent either by Registered Post or can be handed over in person at the office of Vels University, Velan Nagar, P.V.Vaithiyalingam Road, Pallavaram, Chennai - 600117, Tamil Nadu on or before 31st October 2013.
