FORTHCOMING ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS 2014

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS 2014 - OVERVIEW FOR STUDENTS

Candidates must visit the websites specified for the latest information related to the specified examinations.  The document will be updated as and when new examinations are announced.

As per the dates notified, two major entrance examinations have been completed already. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admission to the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) at National Institute of Design (NID) (www.admissions.nid.edu)  was on January 12, 2014 (Sunday).

The Entrance Examinations for admission to the Bachelor Programmes in Design or B.Des (Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design and Textile Design), Bachelor Programme in Technology (Bachelor of Fashion Technology- Apparel Production) at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), was held from 9th February, 2014.

14.03.14 NATA from March 14, 2014 (Monday): The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for 2014-15, conducted by the Council of Architecture, to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country will be conducted in two Phases, with Phase I from 14.3.2014 to 25.5.2014 and Phase-II from 1.6.2014 to 31.8.2014 on working days except national holidays at designated Test Centers as per the list given at www.nata.in  

The test will have two parts, a paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test. The test aims at measuring the aptitude of the candidate through two sections - a paper based section for drawing and computer based section for aesthetic sensitivity. The Drawing Test is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions. The Aesthetic Sensitivity Test is a computer based test where candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions. There is no Negative marking in this test. Applicant should score 40% in NATA (at least 80/200) to qualify. www.nata.in 

06.04.14 JEE-Main offline exam on April 6, 2014 (Sunday): The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main)-2014, for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, and participating State Government Institutions etc will be held in the online and offline modes. JEE (Main)-2014 will have two papers. Paper-1 is for admission to the B.E/B. Tech Programmes and will be held in the online and offline modes. Paper-2, for admissions to the B. Arch./ B.Planning Programmes will be held only in the offline mode.

The offline examination for Paper 1 (B.E/B. Tech) will be held from 9. 30 am to 12.30 pm (IST) on 6.4.2014. The offline examination for Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm (IST) 6.4.2014.

The Online examination (Computer Based Examination) for Paper 1 (B. E./B. Tech) only will be held on 9.4.2014, 11.4.2014, 12.4.2014 and 19.4.2014 in two shifts, with the first shift between 0930-1230 Hours (IST) and 2nd shift (if required) from 1400-1700 Hours(IST)

Paper 1, for admission to B.E/B. Tech will have objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, with equal weightage to the three.

Paper 2 for B.Arch./B.Planning admissions (except at IITs) will have objective type questions from Mathematics in Part I and Aptitude Test in Part II. Part III is the Drawing Test with questions to test drawing aptitude of the candidate.

The JEE (Main) will also be the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad. So those aspiring IITs/ISM have to appear for the JEE (Main) and qualify.

09.04.14 VITEEE from April 9, 2014 (Wednesday) : Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, will hold the the Computer Based Test (CBT), Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) for admission to the various B.Tech programmes offered by it, at Vellore, and Chennai Campuses from 09.04.2014 to 20.04.2014. The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes. Applicant have to book the slots as per the details in www.vit.ac.in , from March - 2014 onwards. All Questions will be of objective type with Physics in Part I, Chemistry in Part II and Mathematics / Biology in PART-III. Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.

Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same. No negative mark is there for wrong answers.hose attempting Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics parts are eligible for all the 14 programmes offered. Candidates attempting Parts-Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bio-Medical Engineering, Biotechnology and Computer Science and Engg (Spec. in Bioinformatics) programmes only. The selection of pattern (Physics/ Chemistry / Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking. The Question paper will be only in English.

The completed application form should be enclosed separately in the printed envelope provided, addressed to Director-UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore- 632014 and sent through Registered Post or Speed Post, so as to reach the Office of Admissions on or before 28th February 2014.

 
13.04.14 AEEE on April 13, 2014 (Sunday): Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering 2014 for admission to B.Tech Programmes at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru and Ettimadai (Coimbatore) campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for 2014-15, will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 13th April 2014 (Sunday).

The Entrance Examination is of 3 hours duration, from 10 am to 1 pm. There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. There will be 50 questions from Mathematics, 35 questions from Physics and 35 questions from Chemistry. Maximum mark will be 360. The question booklet will be in English.

Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. Each question carries 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. If no response is indicated in the answer sheet against a question, no marks, positive or negative will be awarded. If more than one answer is indicated against a question, it will be treated as ‘incorrect answer’ and negative mark will be awarded.

14.04.14 MU-OET 2014 from April 14, 2014 (Monday): The Manipal University Online Entrance Test 2014 (MU-OET 2014), a computer based online entrance test for admission to the Under Graduate Courses at Manipal University will be held between 14.04.2014 and 15.05.2014 as per the time slot and centre chosen by the applicants through the Online Test Booking System.

For the test for admission to MBBS, BDS, BPharm & PharmD (eligibility PCB), the test duration is of 2.30 hours and will have 200 multiple choice objective type questions (MCQ) with 50 questions from Physics, 50 from Chemistry,   questions, 70 from Biology and 30 questions from English & General Aptitude.

For the test for admission to BTech, BPharm & PharmD (eligibility PCM) also, the test will be of 2.30 hours duration with 200 multiple choice objective type questions (MCQ). The approximate distribution of questions will be as follows:  Physics-50, Chemistry-50, Mathematics-70, English & General Aptitude-30.

For BHM, BA Culinary Arts, BAJC, BBM & BHMTT, the test will be of 2 hours duration with multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type which carries 100 marks which is divided into Numeracy (20), Conceptual (25), General English (20), General Awareness (20), Case Study (15).

For Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design), Bachelor of Science (Fashion Design-Couture) & Bachelor of Arts (Interior Design)/Diploma in Fashion Design, the Test duration is 2 hours and will be a Design Ability Test. Design Ability Test conducted for 100 marks examines the design aptitude in terms of creativity, drawing, innovation and visual communication. Each question carries one mark. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. The wrong answer or unanswered questions will receive no (positive/negative) mark.

There is no entrance test conducted by Manipal University for admissions to B Arch course. For B.Arch, admissions will be based on the marks in the qualifying Examination and NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture considered with equal weightage.

20.04.14 MGIMS Medical Entrance on April 20, 2014 (Sunday): Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram (PO), Wardha, Maharashtra-442012, will hold the Entrance Examination for admission to the MBBS Programme at the Institute at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad Mumbai, Varanasi & Kolkata on 20th April 2014.

The Entrance Examination will have two papers, each of 3 hours duration.  Paper I will be common question paper consisting of 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 60 questions from each subject. Paper II will be on Gandhian Thought and will carry 60 marks. The questions on Gandhian Thought will be of long and short answer type.The last date of receipt of filled up application is 20th March, 2014.

20.04.14 HSEE on April 20, 2014 (Sunday) : The Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE)-2014, to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, for admission to the five-year integrated Master of Arts (M.A) programme will be held on April 20, 2014 (Sunday) from 10 am to 1 pm at Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram.

HSEE-2014 will be of three hours duration and has two parts. Part I consists of objective type multiple choice questions for 2½ hours duration (150 Minutes), administered through computer. Part II involves essay writing for 30 Minutes to be written on answer sheet distributed to the candidates at the end of Part I. Part I covers (i) English and Comprehension Skill (25% marks) (ii) Analytical and Quantitative Ability (25%) (iii) General Studies (50%)  in four parts covering the areas of Indian Economics (since Independence), Indian Society, Contemporary World Affairs (post-World War II) and Environment and Ecology. The detailed syllabus is given in Page 17 of the Information Brochure.

Part II requires the candidate to write an essay on general topic involving description, or/and reflection or/and discussion. The Language of Question Paper will be English.

21.04.14 Kerala Engineering Entrance on April 21 and 22, 2014 : The Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations Kerala, for preparation of rank list for engineering admission in Kerala will be held from 10 am to 12.30 noon (IST) on 21st and 22nd April, 2014 with Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) on 21.04.2014 (Monday) and Paper-II (Mathematics), on 22.04.2014 (Tuesday). The Entrance examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions and based on single response. Against each question, five suggested answers would be given, from which the candidate will have to select and mark the alphabet (A,B,C,D or E) corresponding to the ‘most appropriate response’ in the OMR Answer Sheet.

Each Paper will have 120 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. Paper I will have 72 questions from Physics and 48 from Chemistry. Paper II will have 120 questions from Mathematics. For each correct response the candidates will be awarded 4 marks, and for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score. A candidate has to score a minimum of 10 marks in each of Paper I and Paper II to be eligible to be considered for ranking. For SC/ST applicants, there is no minimum mark stipulated to qualify in the Entrance Examinations.

The Engineering Entrance Examination will be for the preparation of the rank list for B Tech admissions including B.Tech (Agri. Engg), B.Tech (Food Engg) Courses under the Kerala Agricultural University and B.Tech (Dairy Science & Technology) under the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University. The rank list for the Engineering admissions will be prepared by giving equal weightage for the marks in the Entrance Examination and the standardized marks in the qualifying examination in the relevant subjects


23.04.14 Kerala Medical Entrance on April 23 and 24, 2014: The Medical Entrance Examination, for admission to Medical, Agriculture and Veterinary courses conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations Kerala, will be held on 23rd April, 2014 and 24th April 2014.  Paper-I, Chemistry & Physics will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm (IST) on 23.04.2014 (Wednesday) and Paper-II: Biology will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 24.04.2014 (Thursday).

The Entrance examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions and based on single response. 24.04.14 KIITEE from April 24, 2014 (Thursday): Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bubhaneswar, Odhissa, will hold the KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) 2014, as an online computer based test from 24th April, 2014 to 3rd May, 2014 for admission to the various Undergraduate Programmes for 2014-15 including B.Tech (4 years)/B.Tech & M.Tech-Dual Degree (5 years)/B.Tech & MBA-Dual Degree (5 years) Courses, B.Tech.-LE (3 years); Bachelor of Architecture (5 years); MBBS/BDS; B.Sc. Nursing (4 years); B.A LL.B/BBA LL.B/B.Sc LL.B (5 years); BBA; Integrated MCA; Bachelor of Design (Fashion/Textile) (4 years); Bachelor of Film & Television Production (3 years) etc.

Applications have to be either submitted online at http://www.kiitee.ac.in  or at http://www.kiit.ac.in/  http://www.kiit.ac.in  or applications can be downloaded from these websites, filled and submitted.

26.04.14 Hospitality JEE on April 26, 2014 (Saturday): The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the full time regular three year (Six Semester) B.Sc Degree Programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology and the Indira Gandhi National Open University will be held from 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs on 26th April 2014 (Saturday).

JEE of 3 hours duration, will have a question paper with 200 objective type questions from Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (30 questions), Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30), General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30), English Language (60) and Aptitude for Service Sector (50). For each correct answer, from Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language, one mark will be awarded while 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answers from these sections. For questions from Aptitude for Service Sector, the marks will 0.25; 0.50; 0.75 or 1 with the most appropriate answer being awarded 1 mark. There is no negative mark for wrong answers, in this section.

26.04.14 Pravara Medical CET on April 26, 2014 (Saturday): The All India Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the undergraduate courses in Medicine (MBBS) & Dentistry (BDS) for the academic year 2014-15 in the institutions under the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, a Deemed University, located at the Pravara Medical Trust Complex in village Loni, Rahata Taluk, of Ahmednagar District in Maharashtra, will be held from 2 p.m to 5 p.m on 26th April, 2014 (Saturday), at Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Cochin, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Aurangabad. 27.04.14 CUSAT CAT on April 27, 2014 (Sunday): The Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to the BTech Programmes and 5 year Integrated M.Sc Photonics at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on 27th April, 2014 (Sunday). The test comprises of 250 objective type multiple choice questions based on Plus Two syllabus. Of this, 125 questions will be from Mathematics, 75 from Physics and 50 from Chemistry. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

The Aptitude Test for B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons) / B.Com,LL.B (Hons) will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on 27th April, 2014 (Sunday). The Test comprises of 150 objective type questions designed to test the proficiency in General English (50 questions) Ability in Reasoning and Logical   Thinking (50 questions) proficiency in General Knowledge and Current affairs (25 questions) and in Law Related Matters (25 questions).

04.05.14 AIPMT on May 4, 2014 (Sunday): The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) 2014, for admission to MBBS/BDS seats under 15% All India Quota seats and also for seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 4th May, 2014 (Sunday).

The Entrance Test will have one paper with 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each question will have four options with single correct answer, to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. Each item carries 4 marks. For each correct response the candidate will get 4 marks. For each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.

In addition to the mark stipulation in the qualifying examination, applicant must secure not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together in AIPMT. In respect of the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in AIPMT would be 40%. For persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

04.05.14 AILET on May 4, 2014 (Sunday): National Law University, Delhi will hold The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) 2014 from 3.00pm to 4.30 pm on May 4, 2014 at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirappalli and Patna. The Examination will have 150 multiple choice questions carrying a maximum of 150 marks with questions from English (35 marks), General Knowledge (35), (Current Affairs, General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Civics), Legal Aptitude (35), Reasoning (35), Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) (10). The candidate should secure minimum of 40% (30% for SC and ST candidates) of the total marks in the All India Law Entrance Test to become eligible for the admission. Last date for receipt of applications is April 7, 2014.


10.05.14 AIPVT on May 10, 2014 (Saturday): The All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2014, conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for admission to the 15% of the total seats in Government Veterinary College in India (except Jammu & Kashmir), to the 1st year B.V.Sc. & A.H course for academic session 2014-15, will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 10th May 2014 (Saturday).

11.05.14 COMEDK UGET on May 11, 2014 (Saturday): ‘Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka’, (COMED-K), will hold the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2014 for admission to the Under Graduate courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering in the member colleges of COMEDK in Karnataka on 11th May, 2014 (Sunday). 

11.05.14 CLAT on May 11, 2014 (Sunday): The Common Law Admission Test-2014, the all India entrance examination for admissions to the Under-Graduate (LL.B) Degree Programmes in the various National Law Universities will be conducted by the Gujarat National Law University, Attalika Avenue, Knowledge Corridor, Koba, Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 3 pm to 5 pm on 11th May, 2014 (Sunday).

The CLAT-2014 Question Paper for UG courses shall have multiple choice type questions carrying a maximum of 200 marks and the test will be of 2 hours duration. There will be 200 questions from English including Comprehension (40 Marks), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 Marks), Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) (20 Marks), Legal Aptitude (50 Marks) and Logical Reasoning (40 Marks). Each wrong answer will results in loss of 0.25 Mark. Answers are to be marked/darkened in the OMR sheet with black ball point pen only. Candidates will not be permitted to carry the Question paper after the examination. Applications can only be submitted online, at http://www.clat.ac.in/  till 11.59 pm on 31st March, 2014 (Monday).

11.05.14 BV CET on May 11, 2014 (Sunday): Bharati Vidyapeeth, Deemed University, Pune, will hold the Common Entrance Test (CET-2014), for admission to the MBBS, BDS, BAMS & BHMS Courses 2014, at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University’s Medical College, Pune, Medical College and Hospital, Sangli, Dental College and Hospital, Pune, Dental College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai, Dental College and Hospital, Sangli, College of Ayurved, Pune and Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune from 11 am to 2 pm on 11th May 2014 at Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Vadodara, Indore, Banglore, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Allahabad, Varanasi and Cochin. The test consists of one paper. The question paper consists of two hundred objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry (50 each) and 100 questions on Biology. Each correct answer will get one mark. There is no negative marking. Last date for submitting application is 2nd May 2014.

11.05.14 AMU MBBS/BDS admission Test on May 11, 2014 (Sunday): The Combined Admission Test of 3 hours duration for admission to the MBBS Course at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and to the BDS Course at Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College will be held from 10 am on 1.6.2014 at Aligarh (U.P), Lucknow (U.P), Bhopal (M.P), Kolkata (W.B), Kozhikode (Kerala), Srinagar (J&K), Hyderabad (A.P), Bareilly (UP)n and Allahabad (UP). 12.05.14 NITTE University, Mangalore, will hold the NITTE University All India Entrance Test for Under Graduate Medical and Dental Courses, NUUGET-2014, from 10 am to 1 pm on Monday, 12.5.2014 at Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ernakulam, Mangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi. The NUUGET is for admission to the M.B.B.S in K.S. Hegde Medical Academy and B.D.S in A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. The last date of receipt of application for NUUGET- 2014 by the Registrar, NITTE University, Mangalore - 575 018 is 03-05-2014. Entrance Test will be conducted in English and will have a question paper of 3 hours duration consisting of 180 multiple choice questions from Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60) and Biology (60). Each question carries one mark. Correct answer will be awarded one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the Entrance Test for those who score 50% or more.

14.05.14 BITSAT from May 14, 2014 (Wednesday): The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, will hold the Computer based Online Test, referred to as the ‘BITS Admission Test-2014’ (BITSAT-2014) for admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus and Hyderabad Campus, for the academic year 2014-15, between 14th May and 1st June 2014.

BITSAT-2014 will be of total of 3 hours duration, without any break with 150 objective type, multiple choice questions in all. The test will have four parts. Part I- Physics (40 Questions); Part II - Chemistry (40); Part III -(a) English Proficiency (15) (b) Logical Reasoning (10) and Part IV -Mathematics/Biology (For B.Pharm) (45). Each question will have four answers with one correct choice. Each correct answer will fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in loss of 1 mark.

While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as correct answer. If a candidate answers all the 150 questions, without skipping any question, the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 extra questions, if there is still time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology only with four questions from each part. Once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he/she will not be able to go back for correction of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2014 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2014 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. 15.05.14 KAIET on May 15, 2014 (Thursday): Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University, Karad, Satara, Maharashtra-415 110, will hold the Krishna All India Entrance Test 2014, for admission to M.B.B.S / B.D.S / B. 15.05.14 IPM Aptitude Test on May 15, 2014 (Thursday) : The Aptitude Test for admission to the Five‐Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at Indian Institute of Management Indore will be held at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi on 15th May, 2014 (Thursday). The Admission Test of two hours duration will have 100 objective‐type questions and will have two broad sections -Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability with a weightage of 60% (Quantitative Ability) and 40% (Verbal Ability), respectively. Each question will carry 4 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. Selection will be based on the overall performance in Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.

18.05.2014 LSAT-India, designed by the USA–based Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for use by law schools in India, will be administered in 16 cities on 18th May, 2014. LSAT-India is a paper-and-pencil test with four sections and of 2 hours and 20 minutes duration and having Multiple Choice questions with some having four answer choices and others with five. There will be 4 sections for LSAT, namely, Analytical Reasoning, 1st Logical Reasoning, 2nd Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension each with approximately 24 questions. 18.05.14 AMU BTech/BArch Admission Test on May 18, 2014 (Sunday): Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh will hold the  Admission Test for B.Tech/B Arch courses offered at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology of Aligarh Muslim University, on 18.5.2014 at Aligarh (U.P), Lucknow (U.P), Bhopal (M.P), Kolkata (W.B), Kozhikode (Kerala) and Srinagar (J & K).The duration. Selection to the B Tech Programmes will be through an Admission Test of 3 hours duration to be held from 10 am. The test will have an objective type paper of 150 marks comprising 150 questions from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Selection to BArch will be through Admission Test, which will have two papers of equal weightage.

Paper I of three hour duration will be from 10 am on 18.5.2014 and that of Paper II, also of three hours duration, from 3 pm on 18.5.2014. Paper I will be an objective type paper of 150 marks comprising 150 questions from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Paper II will be the Architecture Aptitude Test which will contain some descriptive questions and Test of Drawing. 23.05.14 CMC Vellore Medical Entrance on May 23, 2014 (Friday): The Entrance Examination for admission to MBBS, BSc Nursing and Allied Health Science Courses at Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, will be held on May 23, 2014 (Friday). The last date for submission of online applications is 27th March 2014. DD/Challan and documents where applicable, should reach the Office of the Registrar, CMC, Vellore-632002, latest by 4th April 2014.

The selection process includes a Computer Base Entrance Test to be held at Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Puducherry, Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Vellore, Vijayawada & Penang (Malaysia). This will be held on 23.5.2014 (morning) for Group A courses and on 23.5.2014 (afternoon) for Group B subjects. The entrance test for the Group A degree courses and the Science test for the Group B diploma courses will consist of multiple-choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Ability with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy, and a few questions on issues of current topical interest. Performance in this test will be the basis for being called for the Step-2, which includes practical tests and interviews and final selections. The General Paper (Non Science) for Group B will consist of multiple choice questions of a general nature, including very basic science, general knowledge, current awareness and general ability.

24.05.14 UPESEAT on May 24, 2014 (Saturday): The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Entrance Admission Test for admission to all the streams of B Tech/B.Des will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on 24.5.2014. The Test will have 50 questions each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, 30 questions from English Language Comprehension and 20 from Current Affairs Awareness.

The Design Test for B. Des will be held at 1 pm on 24.5.14. Last date to receive the filled application (OMR Form/ Online) is 9 May 2014.

25.05.14 JEE (Advanced) on May 25, 2014 (Sunday): The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2014 for admission to the Under graduate Programmes at IITs and ISM Dhanbad, will be held on 25th May, 2014 (Sunday). It will have two papers, each of three hours duration. Paper 1 will be held from 09:00 to 12:00 hrs (IST) and Paper 2, from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs (IST).

Each of the question papers will consist of three separate parts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions will be of objective (multiple choices) type, designed to test of comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. In some sections, incorrect answers may be awarded with negative marks. Only the top 150000candidates (including all categories) based on their scores in Paper-1 of JEE (Main)-2014 will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced)-2014.


25.05.14 BLDEU-UGET-2014 on May 25, 2014: The BLDEU-Under Graduate Entrance Test 2014 for admissions to the MBBS Programme at Shri B. M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bijapur, Karnataka-586 103, a constituent college of B.L.D.E. University, located at Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Campus, Sholapur Road, Bijapur, Karnataka-586103 will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 25.5.2014, at Bijapur, Hubli, Mangalore, Bangalore, New Delhi, Trivandrum, Ranchi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Vijayawada. It will have a single paper of 180 questions in all, with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates are required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet (Optical Mark Reader). Each correct answer will get one mark. No Marks will be awarded for wrong answers. There is no negative marking. No Mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question.

31.05.14 NEST on May 31, 2014: National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2014, the Entrance Test for Admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc Programme in basic sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics-at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS) Mumbai for the academic session 2014-15 will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on May 31, 2014, (Saturday). Integrated Science Education and Research Center (ISERC), Visva Bharati, is also participating in NEST 2014 and will admit students for its Integrated MSc course from the Merit List of NEST 2014.

NEST 2014 will have one question paper consisting of 5 sections having objective (MCQ) type questions. Section 1 is compulsory for all candidates and will have questions on general science to test candidates' awareness towards basic scientific facts as well as their abilities of comprehension and reasoning. There will be no negative marking in general section. Sections 2 to 5 will be Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Candidates are required to answer questions from any three of these four sections. The questions are designed to test candidates' subject comprehension and analytic ability. In the subject sections, there will be negative marking for incorrect answers. 01.06.14 AIIMS Entrance Test on June 1, 2014 (Sunday): All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will hold the Competitive Entrance Examination for admission to the MBBS Course at AIIMS, New Delhi and six other AIIMS at Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, Rishikesh and Bhubaneswar for 2014-15 on Sunday the 1st June, 2014. It will be conducted in online as well as Offline (Pen & Paper) modes.

The Competitive Entrance Examination will be of 3½ hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) and 20 from General Knowledge.

The general standard of the Competitive Entrance Examination will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. No syllabus has been prescribed by the Institute for the examination.

Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark. Each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3 (minus-one-third). No credit will be given for the questions not answered. More than one response will be treated as wrong answer and negatively marked. Candidate belonging to General category will be required to score at least 50% marks in the entrance examination to qualify. Those belonging to OBC category will be required to score at least 45% marks and those belonging to SC/ST Categories will be required.
