Applications are invited from the desirous
candidates for admission to the 3-year integrated Ph. D programme in the

The admission to the Ph. D programme shall be made
in accordance with the latest statutes published/issued by the University on
24-09-2014. The eligibility criteria and the procedure for applying can be
accessed on the official website of the University of Kashmir (www.kashmiruniversity.net).

The auto generated (after online submission)
application form along with pay-in-slip for depositing the admission fee of Rs.250/- in Hazratbal branch of J&K Bank
in favour of the Deans of the respective faculties from S. No. 01 to 07 bearing
account numbers can then be downloaded by the candidate. The auto generated
application form along with the University copy of pay- in-slip and relevant
certificates shall be received in the office of the concerned Dean up to
21-01-2015.

The date for conduct of Entrance Test in the
concerned Faculty shall be notified separately. The Entrance Test shall
comprise subjective and objective type questions set from the syllabi
prescribed by each Department/Centre which can also be downloaded from the
official website of the University. Further, the admission shall be subject to
the availability of seats in the concerned Departments/Centre of the Faculty.
The candidates whose results of the qualifying examination is still awaited are
also eligible to submit application/s form, subject to the condition that
he/she shall furnish his/her affidavit duly attested by the 1st class
Magistrate to the effect that he/she is submitting application form on his/her
responsibility and shall have no claim for appearing in the Entrance Test if
his/her result of the qualifying examination is not declared till date of the
conduct of the test.
The candidates having qualified (a) National level
Examination like, NET (CSIR, UGC), DET, DBT (Govt. of India) ICMR and have
earned JRF fellowship; (b) University/College Teachers with three years service
on substantive basis or with JRF and 2-years service on substantive basis shall
be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test, but are required to apply
alongwith the other candidates within the stipulated time. In case the number
of applicants under category (a) is equal to or more than seats available in a
particular Dept., no entrance examination shall be conducted in that Dept.
and the selection shall be made by the DRC amongst the eligible candidates.
The candidates whose M.Phil result has been declared
or yet to be declared by the University of Kashmir are also eligible for the
Ph. D programme without appearing in the Entrance Test and their Ph. D
registration shall be governed by the 2010 statutes. Further, the candidates
with the M.Phil degrees from other UGC recognized universities/Educational
Institutions are also eligible to apply. However, they shall have to appear and
qualify the Entrance Test with, at least, 60% marks and their Ph. D programme
shall also be governed by the 2010 statutes.
