TWO YEAR RESIDENTIAL LL.M (MASTER OF LAWS) PROGRAMME

CORE AREAS OF STUDY INCLUDES:

Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law, International Law, Constitutional Law, Competition Law, Criminal Justice, Taxation Law.

Eligibility Criteria:

(1)    First Class  or equivalent (Minimum of 60% marks OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale) in Bachelors of Laws LL.B/ B.L. (5 years) program from any receognized university or

(2)    First Class  or equivalent (Minimum of 60% marks OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale) in Bachelors of Laws LL.B/ B.L. (3 years) program from any receognized university  along with Bachelor’s Degree (not less than 3 years) in Humaniteis/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent.

(3)    For students completed LL.B. Degree from School with CGPA of 8.5 or above will be eligibile for direct admission to the Programme.

Mode of Selection:

All India Common Entrance Test conducted by the School/ CLAT, followed by GD/PI. Student falling under cateregoy (3) will not be require to appear in the Common Entrance Test/ CLAT.

Eligibility:
All candidates seeking admission to the PhD program shall have to possess requisite marks / grades in qualifying examination as shown below:

(i) 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale) in the qualifying examination in Engineering / Science / Commerce / Management or
(ii) 55% in Humanities or Social Sciences (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale).

Eligibility for Admission:

Admission Procedure: Admission will be a two-step process.

All India written test for entrance to be conducted at Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Candidates who will be writing the LSAT-India 2012 are exempted from the above-mentioned All India written test. Such candidates will be shortlisted for the GD/PI on the basis of their percentile ranks in the LSAT-India 2012. The candidates must mention their LSAT-India Registration number clearly in the appropriate box mentioned in the online Application Form for RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur. RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur will obtain LSAT-India scores directly from LSAT-India.

Candidates with valid LSAT scores (on the global LSAT exam) are also exempted from the All India written test. ABOUT THE COURSE
Geomechanics covers the engineering behaviour of rock and rock masses in both mining and civil engineering applications. The practice of rock mechanics are continuously evolving and making significant progress for improving productivity and safety. Several civil /mining companies have successfully implemented rock mechanics principles to solve short and long term geotechnical issues at their sites. As a result, the importance of rock mechanics and ground control of surface and underground excavations are felt more now than ever before.

This course is specifically designed to expose rock mechanics practitioners to the newer and state-of-the-art know-how in rock mechanics. The course is aimed to equip participants with the latest rock mechanics technologies and impart knowledge of relevant case studies and typical rock mechanics applications.

Emphasis will be placed on practical hands-on tutorials on principles of rock mechanics as well as laboratory investigation to find the physical and mechanical properties of rock. This course starts from the basics with the recent developments and focuses on their applications to solve real life problems.

The lectures will be delivered by the faculties with proven knowledge, and demonstrable ability in teaching, consultancy, and research.

Vinod Gupta School of Management is the first B-school in the IIT system offering 2-year, full-time, residential MBA programme.

Candidates must possess First class Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology or First class Master's degree in Science, Economics or Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor's level to be eligible to apply to the school. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST candidates.

Our institute uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for our MBA programme, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of programme.

The school follows GO! norms on the reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates and persons with disability.

IIT Kharagpur is committed to ensure that a student's financial resources do not become a constraint for pursuing MBA education at the school; The school has put in place a liberal financial aid programme that offers partial or full assistance for up to 30% of the enrolled students. In addition, bank loans may be availed by students at preferential rates and payment terms to meet their fees and expenses.
